I used to listen to these in the 1970s, when I went to bed, on a radio next to my bed. Love these - thanks for uploading!

When I was 14yo, I caught a Fibber McGee & Molly late one Saturday evening. The nostalgic quality of the staticky broadcast transported me to the warmest, safest place. 20 years later, I've learned so much about generations past from radio programs like these. I can talk at great length with my grandpa & other elders at his retirement home about old programs and actors. I feel like I have a keener understanding of culture today, because of a deeper understanding of the cultures of yesteryear.
Once I heard so many, I began to know every story told & retold throughout the decades and programs like Twilight Zone, X Minus One, the Greatest Story Ever Told, etc.
There are now contemporary podcasts that utilise the radio-play format and they're great, but nothing tops the grit & grain of these old programs. I loathe advertising in modern life, but I like the commercials in old broadcasts.

It's almost like it was mainstream American entertainment when it still had some purity and realness. It is shocking to those of us that grew up on 80s and 90s TV.

I love these dramatized radio shows.
Call me old fashioned but I can still remember radios with vacuum tubes.
These programs are better than T.V. because you have to see them in your mind.
It seems that in today's society we no longer encourage that.
    To use our imaginations.
    To exercise our minds.
    Too bad that.
It's actually a lot of fun.

3/01/22.....I don't know anything abt vacuum tubes but I do remember having to adjust dials & a, usually red, needle 4 tuning with numbers 2 get where the approximate frequency was. Now, it's digital readout for tuning in2 the station that you wanna listen 2.

This is an incredible story. I had a surgery last year. I thought of the surgeon taking over my vigil as warrior to time and space. I grew up without 📺 and I have a bright humor about how surgery is not a part of the patience consciousness at all. You wake without a loss of time to you! Amazing work. The DR. was hurl while I was in deepest sleep. In my vigil I can only go to sleep. I can not go into any depraved. I cannot perverse unconsciousness. This is a splendid story!...and then I woke up! Hot dog and I have had a blast!!!

SOME of them may be ”cheesy”, but, they’re a heck of a lot better than most of the garbage on tv nowadays.… And, many of these episodes are eye opening & reveal hidden truths about aspects of our lives that we most likely don’t want to see.….or, know about. Interesting….

What, exactly, IS a “greasy NYC voice”?? I think his voice is distinguished & convincing, especially to the meaning of this particular story line. The radio allows us to use our own imagination & can take us away to unbelievably beautiful places! It’s so much better than tv.👍

There's a really old gruff voice I don't like on some of them even though the guy isn't really supposed to be old. Ha
