I made this quilt. I just love it. I made a 2nd seam before I cut off the hst, and used the tiny pieces in the border. Turned out cute. Wish I could upload a picture!
I'm new I have done the straight forward jelly roll...this one I'm abit confused/ alot...do you end up with 1600 ? Help I'm not exactly sure how to explain what to do after I have completed sewing all the colors in a long row. Do I then fold in half cut...how many sections do I do before I start joining the black sorry it's as clear as mud is there a pattern for this Thanks a confused newbie
I did it! I would love to share my version of this. It started out slow but I got into it and couldn’t stop! I’m working on my boarders now. Thanks for the inspiration 💗
Your classes are absolute mesmerizing. I can't stop watching one after another. Question: are the black strips also a pre-cut? Does is also come in a jelly roll? Thank you for you for sharing your talents on the internet.
Hi Carmen, the Streamers pattern calls for yardage for the black fabric as the strips are 2" wide unfinished and jelly rolls are 2 1/2" wide. If you wanted to, you could certainly use a jelly roll for the black, though. Moda and Robert Kaufman Fabrics both make solid black 2 1/2" wide precut rolls. If you used the full width of the black from the precuts (2 1/2" rather than 2"), your quilt would end up a little wider than the pattern calls for and the colors and black would be the same width, so it would look slightly different than Sara's version and the pattern.
What if I want this to be a twin size bed size? Do I just fold the strips to measure to that size and cut once I have sewn the long color and black strips together?
Hi Rosemary, the Streamers quilt pattern (goo.gl/6C6br8) is 61" x 84.5", and a standard twin size quilt is 70" x 90", so you could either slightly increase the length of where you fold the strips and add four strips in width, or you could use the same measurements from the pattern for the strips and increase the width of the outer borders.
Hi Sara ... although I've made quite a few quilts over the years, my creations were long before all the special "pre-cuts" that are available these days. I'm enjoying each of your tutorials ... not only as a basic technique refresher, but your presentations are clear and very helpful when it comes to the pre-cuts - especially the "pinked" edges. Thank you so much - great to see you as the new host of Fons and Porter "Love of Quilting." ps. love the Flying Geese quilt in the background of your first few tutorials - is there a pattern available?
So once you get all your color strips sewn end to end, and then your black strip are sewn end to end, do you then cut them to the length you desire your quilt be, before you sew the colored and the black together?
Super. Great variation. Thanks.

Beautiful quilt and thank you for sharing. The cutting of the strips was not clear. Could you clarify please. Thank you again. M
Which baby lock machine are you sewing on? I just bought my first baby lock so I’m curious
Hi, I am a beginner quilter and I love your videos. How many 2 inch black filler stripes do you need for this quilt ? Thank you.
Does anyone know the size of this quilt?

Thank you, that makes sense.

This quilt is so gorgeous¡! Could it be made with a jelly roll with a print on it or does it have to be solids?
How may strips do you sew together before folding how big is the width of this quilt and the length thank you
I'm thinking this might work as a quilt as you go quilt just like people do on a smaller level with placemats. 🤔
Do you sell the jelly rolls?
So where can we find this pattern? I’ve googled streamers quilt pattern, but it looks nothing like this one
Quilting daily seems to have the pattern {but it's 8USD}
Why are you cutting the strips in half. I am a beginner
So is this quilt made with 2 complete jellyrolls or 2 half 1/2 jellyroll to equal 1 whole jellyroll??
What if I want this to be a twin size bed size? Do I just fold the strips to measure to that size and cut once I have sewn the long color and black strips together?

How was this quilted? I enjoy piecing but would love to also see the quilting. Great videos, thank you!!
