My grampa was in his 80’s & had alzheimers. We were walking around his nursing home and he did a full 180 to stare at a super cute nursing assistant. I said Grampa! He turned and said a full sentence “Honey let me tell you, I’m old but when you stop looking you’re dead”. I laughed so hard! I miss that old guy. He was epic.
I’m happy-proud, even-to say that all I’ve ever seen of Dr. Phil were glimpses of him in commercials for his show. Those few seconds were more than enough. He seems to be the Jerry Springer of pseudo-psychology.
I saw Lewis Black in Colorado Springs and he generously signed my book and took a picture with me. He is the nicest man. You'd never know he's famous because he's so down to earth. I just love him and his wild sense of humor. I also liked the story he told before his show. He's been sick in Ireland and in ICU for quite some time. He made a point of telling the audience that healthcare is better OUTSIDE the US. Americans were being duped. Good for him. He's not only nice but he used his platform to benefit others. Great comedian; great human being.
Recalling working with an old vet in a hospital who hadn't talked or moved in years. Got him out of bed & I was young and beautiful at the time. The old vet reached up & touched a breast of mine. Being delighted that he smiled and had some movement I laughed and said whatever it takes do it. ☺️🇺🇸 Bless our vet's...
I tell mine I will be their mother for the rest of their lives. (even after I am dead, if the subject of their mother ever comes up, it will be me they're talking about).
I knew an old couple like this when I worked in a camera store. He would come in and play with the cameras, and she would say nasty things to him the whole time, which he completely ignored. They both knew the routine, and they were both happy and very much in love. God bless them.
Not sure why this popped up in my recommended but you and the audience find this humorous. It's lost on me. Of course, humor is very subjective, but I'd appreciate it if you would select and explain some comical element in this. Is it necessary to be familiar with Dr Phil for this to be funny?
I have a grandmother who lived to be a 104... Probably The funniest and the coolest grandmother you could possibly ever have during the depression she was in Panama her husband was on the railroad for the Panama canal she enjoyed that kind of life... But live in Pearland Texas into her old age People always kept asking her how she is... She was very Frank she said I'm waiting to die all my friends have been dead for years and my husband died decades ago.... But she still made me laugh and had a hell* of a sense of humor.. Rest in peace grace
Dr. Consequences decided to leave private practice rather than complete a WHOLE YEAR of supervision after he was reprimanded for unprofessional conduct. He got halfway through and then quit. Threw away his career as a therapist. Was it really that hard? What happened? Did they find more dirt? Did he decide there was no way in hell he'd manage another five months of good behavior? Did he decide that they'd figured out his little game and realize that he was never going to be in good standing again? Way to go, Oprah. Thanks for the anti-vaxxers and quack doctors and therapists that you got rich foisting upon us.
J B, I get your meaning, but it isn't fair. Grown-ups are responsible for themselves. If someone had warned Phil what fame and fortune would do to him, maybe he would have rejected the offer.
One of my aunts lived to be 90, my mom lived to 96, Granny lived to 99 and 1 month, but really wanted to make it to 100. Another aunt said she did not want to live to be 100. Just shows you should be careful what you wish for, as she lived to be 108!

The very first thing my mother said to my wife after they first met. "Mike no mama's boy. He's his own person". My wife then replied. "That's the reason I married your son".

Watching Dr Phil is nauseating. Now you have to bow to his wife and all the crap he’s gotten her into with no expertise on any of it. The sons have been trumpeted .. that doctor app thing… Singing and what not. It’s just become a place where one man knows everything, and each of us are lowly followers. Now I’m ready to be analyzed for how I’ve sinned here.
I am 23 and my husband is 33, we've been married 5 years and have a 4 year old daughter. We actually met on a dating site, I was 16 but lied and said I was 18. We were together for about 6 months before I finally told him the truth and I'm truly lucky he didn't leave me. He's the greatest, funniest, most honest, caring, protective man and father I've ever met.

Dr. Phil appears to have practiced actual clinical psychology from 1976 0r 1977 to 1984 or 1985. In 1985 he started selling self help courses under a non-clinically-licensed non explicitly clinical format which could be described as positive psychology. In 1990, he started a trial consultancy firm specializing in consulting trial lawyers on their in-court presentations (not an expert witness consultancy firm). He's been doing TV since 1995. His understanding of clinical psychology research seems to not have been updated since 1985, if not 1976, and he's probably forgot most of what he even knew. He compensates for this with a hefty dose of American-style conservativism or traditionalism, a bias against anyone younger than 30 or anyone who is the child in a parent-child conflict, a lack of compassion, or intellectual curiosity, and a deep knowledge of "generationally-biased popular opinion" and "folksy conventional wisdom." Probably less worthy of widespread popularity or respect as a psychologist than your average clinical psychology grad student.
he's trying to be funny about dr phil but I find myself unironically agreeing with most of it like his show is legit awful and I fucking hate him. I particularly hate his idea of therapy too it's not just the making fun of guest but that his solution to literally every problem is tough love you've gotta stop enabling this behavior that's all he says like every single time parents kids addicted to the drug STOP ENABLING HIM and iet's like ok first of all part of the problem we have with fentanyl and heroin at this point is that when you don't give the addicts free needles they just reuse old ones and share them with each other and thus AIDS starts to spread. I'm not saying if you don't you're literally responsible for what they do but that that is the inevitable outcome of not enabling a sizable chunk of the addicts by giving them clean needles. I'm a harm reduciton advocate i'm like I don't approve of drug use but if people are going to use I want them to do it in the safest way possible.

That's the best #MeToo story I've ever heard.
As my mother told me, "No matter how old you are I am still your mother". She set me straight when I was 50 years old.

I tell mine I will be their mother for the rest of their lives. (even after I am dead, if the subject of their mother ever comes up, it will be me they're talking about).
My mother always said that being in her 80s was marginally better than the alternative.
It's too bad that Lewis Black never toured with Ron White for a Black & White tour. That would have been epic!
thats genius !!!
Maybe they could do Vegas together. I'd go see them😊💞✌️❤️🌼
That wouldn’t work as they would draw very different audiences Lewis wears his liberal views on his sleeves
I'd love it if somebody took all of Lewis's bits about his parents and just made a reel of them. They're some of his funniest stuff and so relatable
'They never listened to a word the other said.' Now that's in-car entertainment!
We need Lewis Black on Tv in some fashion. Whatever form it is.

I'm from the Poconos. His description of Caesars is actually fairly flattering...

Dr Phil is the craziest sociopath in his show.
He’s lucky; I couldn’t even watch Dr. Phil for 3 minutes

This is brilliant....
Thanks yt
He is awesomeness
Thanks for the laughs! Genius
You got it Lewis Black!! I thought Dr. Phil on Oprah was just nosey. I don't watch "reality" programs.
If you read an issue of "The Hollywood Reporter" or "Variety" you'll see ads for scriptwriters for "reality" shows.
