0:45 pleasure generating brain regions : hedonic hotspots : nucleus accumbens, (orbital frontal cortex, insular cortex : conscious pleasure)
1:45 eudaimonia : sense of meaning, purpose, fulfillment of human capacities. Contains the promess of pleasure.
3:50 Berridge and Kringelbach : 3 phases in pleasure cycle: 1. Appetitive 2. Consumatory 3. Satiety (learning to increase likelihood of repeating experience) -> brain regions
    1. Vental Striatum (feeling of wanting), OFC (value), Singulate Cortex (error detection, interoception, effort analysis), Amygdala (detecting features of environment), Insula (map of internal sensations and feelings), Hypothalamus (facilitating motivated behaviours)
    2. Subcortical regions like ventral pallidum, Cortical regions like insular cortex and OFC
3.Activity involved in memory goes up, like in the Hippocampus (new memories of experiences) & Amygdala (behavioral conditioning, emotional memory formation)
8:30 metastability : quantitative measure of how that synchronization fluctuates over time. Optimal : possible neurological basis of eudamonia. Default mode netfwork of the brain = pleasure = rest (not engaged in tasks) = representation of self
12:00 helping people in need is a great source of pleasure.

Thank you so much for this careful annotation!
(I've also noticed you doing this on some of my other videos, and am very appreciative 🙏)

@@senseofmindshow I thought you might not appreciate it because it "spoils" your content so it's a relief ! I intend to do this for every video of you that I watch, I need those notes to recall the content. Thank you for sharing so much qualitative knowledge 🙏

Love the content! I like how you can still explain everything in simple terms without showing being afraid to show the facts/studies, and without diluting the content

Thank you, I love your videos, can you tell me where I can get accurate information on how safe it is to use beans of plant "mucuna pruriens" as a dietary supplement as super low dose of L-DOPA, it seems that it helps me with my problems motivation/apathy/anhedonia/depression 😭, but I often see information on different sources that it is dangerous to use because it kills dopamine neurons 😔 due to excitotoxicity and radical loading and where the truth lies 😕
I tried SSRIs, they only took away the anxiety, but the apathy and anhedonia got much worse 😓
