    Love that you clearly explained the distinction between pleasure and desire as this is often over looked. Freaking nailed it xD

      Thanks so much! It’s a subtle difference but so important for understanding the brain basis of pleasure and motivation.

    Hey! I have been absolutely loving your videos. Its SUPER sad you aren't well know -_- upsetting more so. Keep up the wonderful work of providing a comprehensive understanding of the hard to understand science we've fought so hard to learn ♥

    Another terrific video. I love how you help people understand that pleasure has evolved beyond just survival. And the actionable steps at the end that show viewers how to differentiate pleasure from desire and from fulfillment is well done. Keep up the great work. 💎

    This was fantastic! The animations were so on point and you did a great job putting it all together 🔥 I'd love to touch on some of this in the future on "the social brain"! There's some fascinating connections to addiction here that might be cool too to get in to.

      Thanks so much man! And addiction is a great idea for a future SB topic! Looking forward to next week, btw.

      Great recommendation! If you look closely at the bookshelf behind me, you can see a copy of it in the stack of books on the left side!

    Hey nice video. I wanted to comment on pleasure/happiness vs joy/bliss. Having pleasure all the time needs to change as a goal people set maybe joy/peace would be a what we are really after.

    Yet it still can never be explained by science the actual sensation of pleasure or desire.

    Sir I have a question _
    Whenever a sexual thought arises in my mind, do I always have a conscious choice?
    Wheather to go for it or not?
    Wheather to act on it or not?

    • @senseofmindshow
      @senseofmindshow  2 года назад +1

      My guess is yes, as long as you have a functioning prefrontal cortex (the part of the brain involved in inhibiting behaviors and regulating emotions). Sexual urges can be powerful, but the prefrontal cortex can stop you from acting on them.
