I feel largely exhausted due to depression but somehow I feel like that isn't real exhaustion. I hope this helps me understand what my brain is doing somehow.

Thank you for your comment. I’m not a clinician, but what you’re describing is a very common symptom of depression. I’m really sorry to hear you’re experiencing that. Some of the strategies I mention here may help, but I urge you to talk to a mental health professional who can help you develop a more individually tailored plan for your specific circumstances. Stay strong and don’t stop yourself from reaching out for help.

It is real exhaustion, you are chronically tired and therefore you should rest in order to Physically recover.

SSRI left me Chronic fatigue syndrome after a 4 week exposure in 2016 and also PSSD
It looks like SSRI by increasing serotonin it deplete indirectly dopamine...

Your channel deserves sooooooo much. I come from a niche that follows Huberman and Diary of a CEO... Perhaps your RUclips algorithm is steaming up eheh. (and of course subscribed after watching 3 videos in a set)

I am beginning to beleive that more views generally dont have much value. And almost always less viewed videos are really helpful.

I have noticed that individuals who take anti-depressants (SSRI's in particular) experience a lot of fatigue. Many of these individuals share that it's their depression that causes the fatigue. However, after what you have shared, perhaps the increased availability of serotonin is contributing to a form of fatigue induced by the SSRI's. Thoughts?

That’s a really interesting idea. It aligns with some research that seems to show an effect of “emotional blunting” that may come with SSRIs for some individuals. I wouldn’t doubt it, but I don’t have any evidence to say for sure one way or the other.

It all goes back to lack of sleep. I won't say that I have full-blown insomnia. Falling asleep initially isn't an issue, and I dream nightly, so I'm getting deep REM sleep.
The problem is that I always sleep in shifts due to waking up to use the bathroom. Like clockwork, I'll sleep 3-4hrs, wake up to pee, spend an hour falling back asleep, and then eventually 2-3 more hrs.
I'm technically getting 6-7hrs a night, but it feels like two naps as opposed to an actual night's sleep. I've tried multiple solutions of no food 3hrs before bed, no liquid 2-3hrs before bed, etc... But nothing helps.

I don’t see which part of the video was difficult to understand. The most niche words were the ones describing brain anatomy and neurotransmitters, but that should be expected in a neuroscience video…

Depends… who do you wanna reach? Collegue graduates or everyone? If someone claims to not understand there might be a simpler way do explain. I for one struggeled, mostly with the speed of facts. Perhaps i just need to give my brain a break tho… eat some food… 😅😂 Althogh i truly enjoyed the video. Insightful!
