The interstate. Seriously, I'd rather visit a proctologist than get on an airplane. Really for any trip less than 10 hours by car, I don't even CONSIDER flying. Perfect list. My experience as well. Customer service from Gulf and Turkey companies is the mbest! British is fair enough as well. American Airlines never again! I am brazilian so I can also say brazilian airlines are overall bad as well.
This is funny bc last week I flew American and didnt upgrade any seats: my first flight featured the crying todler kicking my seat, 2nd flight starred 'the slob' who insisted on resting his ankle on his knee and touching my jeans with his shoe, also catching a few of his elbows in my ribs, 3rd flight i was awarded with the 350lb linebacker who really couldnt keep from invading like 1/3 of my space no joke. And last flight i had the whole row to myself, but the damage was done, i was looking forward to flying but i literally had to be cramped for 1.5 hrs each flight while i counted the minutes to land. The airlines have tiered seats so now apparently you can chose your social class more accurately. Now I know. But really if you want to enjoy your vacation nowadays you have to upgrade.
Good philosophy; you get what you pay for. Singapore is my top pick but ANA’s premium cabins are terrific when you factor in the service level. Air France has impressive premium cabins for a European carrier.
I flew economy on Turkish a few years ago, and it was miserable due to the built-in footrests under the seat in front. I'm tall so I have to bend my leg under the seat while keeping the other one in the aisle. The built-in footrest made that impossible. My knee hurt for weeks after that. Price to go business for us would have added another $5000. Have flown Emirates several times. Economy seats are a bit cramped - especially at the exit rows. When I flew on them in August, I got the exit row, but the non-movable armrests made the seats super cramped. Great leg room though. Service on Emirates is pretty good generally. The business class seats seemed nearly as tight as economy. Flew to Ireland a few years ago on American. Got their premium economy seats. Great move on my part. Excellent legroom. In the US, I usually take Southwest. Reasonable pricing, cheerful staff, free bags, etc. Worst ones I've taken internationally were easily British Airways and Air France. TWA was decent, but that was 25 years ago, and they don't exist. People smoked on the planes then. That part sucked. Flew on United in 1975. Economy. Back when seat pitch was great. Super nice stewardesses, great service, and more. But the domestic guys started getting worse and worse. As we started to get deep into the 1990s, it really got bad. I typically fly Aegean twice a year from Athens. Tight seats unless you get up front, but the flight is 30-45 minutes, so I don't care. Very friendly flight attendants and decent (and quick) snacks (those attendants have to move quickly!). Having to take the (short) bus ride to and from the plane is not fun though.
@David Richards That’s good to know. I flew Turkish from DC to Istanbul (and back) and also from Istanbul to Bodrum round trip. The Bodrum flight was painful due to the small Airbus used. The Istanbul flight was memorable not only for the foot rests under the seats but also the uncouth Turkish passengers. There is nothing like watching a large plane land and immediately see numerous people (all Turks) get up and start opening the overheads while the plane is speeding down the runway - and the flight attendants couldn’t do anything since they were buckled in for the landing as well. They only could yell at the passengers in Turkish to sit down (which was, of course, ignored by those passengers). Add to that the jackasses who then tried to bully in front of non-Turks in the customs lines…
My first flight was domestic on United in 1975. Awesome experience. Spacious seats and legroom, awesome stewardesses, I got to meet the pilot and get "wings" pre-flight, etc.
I agree with that! CDG is so terrible it could have only been designed by European bureaucrats. US airports are dreadful agreed. Especially waiting in the long queue to enter the country. Best Airport: Changi Airport in Singapore. Worst Airport: Charles DeGaulle in Paris. The absolute worst. Best airport lounge: Turkish Airlines Lounge in Istanbul, Turkey. Worst airport lounge: Bucharest, Romania. Ouch.
I agree with you totally on Emiratss in comparison to Qatar. Emirates first is excellent, from lounge to seat and catering. However there business class isn't, seats are cramped (especially A380), service becomes hit and miss, a lot to do with how awful their crew has been treated by the company. The business lounge in Dubai is big, but the shower facilities are truly awful, like a communal shower inside a gym. Running around naked with all the strangers aren't my idea of a business class shower experience. To my knowledge, they are the only airlines to design it like that. With Qatar, I'm speechless (in admiration), how they manage to excel in every area, like Singapore airlines. I like Malaysia airlines very much too although they've been severely underrated, and overshadowed by Singapore airlines. I'm so glad to watch a video finally talk honestly about these airlines.
I have never had a problem with Asiana, Cathay, Korean air and Philippines airlines. Cebu Pacific is always running late but fine. Thailand carrier to Phuket was fine.
What I can stand in many airlines (and some hotels as well) is the "buy extra" - buy luggage, buy internet, buy seat, buy food. I am always amazed at Narita and Haneda (Tokyo) Airports seeing Americans flying United and American Airlines when JAL and ANA are among the best in the world. Some people love being treated like freight.
I can’t afford business class but I can give the economy perspective. Best airline: Cathay Pacific… Haven’t flown them in years but always had a great experience when flying with them. Worst airline: Korean Air… Literally 85 degrees for almost the whole 13-hour flight. I had a thermometer with me. They refused to cool the plane until the last 15 minutes of the flight. When I contacted customer service afterwards, they basically called me a liar. Dishonorable mention for worst: Pakistan International Airlines… They fly old Yugoslavian planes which is scary in itself. No entertainment. Something like 30% of their pilots don’t actually have their pilot’s license. And surprise, they seem to crash a lot. On the bright side, their staff was friendly, and they do fly one of the prettiest routes in the world.
Ive flown Aeromexico dozens of times. Its not bad but its not good. Its just alright. When i was younger I flew a ton on volaris which is the low cost mexican airline and it was god awful but it got the job done. I used to fly 4 times a year for a solid 15 years and only had a luggage issue one time in Chicago Midway Airport on Aeromexico. Sometimes there would only be direct flights on ultra low cost carriers from Chicago midway to Guadalajara when for the dates we needed. Chicago O'Hare is a much bigger airport with better options but was too much of a hassle to drive to sometimes considering i lived 9 minutes from midway.
I like Emirates. I've heard good things about Etihad as well but yet to fly with them. British Airways is not good. Seats are not comfortable. Legroom poor. I used to love Olympic Airways from Greece. Sad that they went bust. Ukraine International Airlines is incredibly cheap and I think they are okay. Ryanair is awful. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. For low-cost airlines, Easyjet and Jet2 are a lot better.
I'm actually a fan of Wizzair, Ryanair, etc, because I always only take a small bag (no large carry-on or checked bags) and they have a lot of short haul flights which are occasionally extremely affordable. Lately though, Wizzair has been cancelling a lot of their flights but oddly Ryanair has not cancelled anything on me yet. Need to find some wood to knock on.
Voted best from Skytrax 2021 is Qatar Airways. Totally agree using them from Germany to Philippines (twice) even the economy class was first class treatment. Just as good and maybe better in their own ways is Singapore Airlines from Houston to Philippines has been exceptional service as well. Airline I probably wouldn't take would be Malaysian or Indonesian especially the last few years with the accidents.
Air Force one is the best airline. They are so good, that Afghans fill the runway before takeoff, just to get a ride outside the plane on the wing. USAF1 is to die for!
Taliban Joe Airways or Air Guatemala Kamala are the best airlines for free stuff. You get free Wi-Fi, email servers and connections for your laptops. In business class you can order h00kers. There is a special offer at the moment of buy one pay for five.
I worked for Qatar Airways, the European office was always under staff. In high season it was impossible to change tickets and I had to move some people by months!
Jeez Andrew, this is the first time I have to disagree with you. You rate Turkish Airlines highly and maybe today they are but my experience with them in the 90s was terrible! The airport was like a mob scene; I don't think they've even heard of lineups there. Everyone was just in one big mob pushing their way to the front of the line and the plane itself was dingy, smelly and smoky. On the other hand, my experiences with Thai Airways were all wonderful. Clean planes, efficient service, smooth rides, on time... no complaints at all. Honorable mention for SE Asia regional - Vietnam Airways though I only used them twice. Phnom Penh to HCM City - 35 minutes and they served 2 snacks and a lunch. And you could have eaten all of it off the floor of the plane, it was that clean! Great, smooth flight, friendly staff who all spoke fluent English (and French), loved it!
Bahaha had the same 5mg thing on Iberia business this summer. Hilarious. But dude...not fair to judge airlines unless flown many flights. For example, I've had some Emirates flights that are AA quality, and some that are 5 star. Always depends on how new the plane is.
Singapore Airlines is my favourite airline. As a regional business manager for a U.S. company in Singapore, I used to fly to the U.S to attend meetings and trade shows and my choice is SQ. But there were occassions I decided to fly United when I had to catch a connecting flight to arrive at my final destination. SQ is by far a better airline.
@@bepreparedforwhatscoming4975 Exactly. I'm on vacation. I want to be out seeing the sights, having fun. NOT sitting in some dreary, humid airport waiting endlessly for a flight. Sorry but I actually paid good money for that flight. It wasn't charity.
@@bepreparedforwhatscoming4975 Besides, my response was totally on point with the subject of this video. Maybe you should watc something else if you can't deal with the realities of this subject.
I agree with you about Qatar and Turkish, although Qatar’s business class is underwhelming on some routes, i.e. Doha to Nairobi. Doha to Johannesburg on the other hand, is amazing. Similar feelings about Lufthansa, but I have to disagree with you on Iberia and Emirates. I once flew Iberia from Madrid to Boston and felt the service was impeccable. Every time I’ve taken Emirates via business class (from Boston, Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, etc.) I’ve been impressed with the high level of service. Any of the carriers from the Persian Gulf though have horrible economy class. In a pinch, I once flew Dubai to Boston in economy and was shocked at the level of hostility the flight attendants had towards the passengers-downright rude! I wonder what your thoughts are on British Airways and KLM on intercontinental flights… Delta and American business class on transatlantic flights are both surprisingly good.
Probably Qatar and Singapore Airlines. I would love to know which credit cards are you using, Im not a US resident, I don't have any incomes from US, but all my credit cards are from US banks because they have very good rewards.
@@nicolas4771 you don't need to be a US resident to apply for credit cards at least in BOA (you have to apply for a secured credit card during 6 months and then to a real credit card) )and Citi (After 3 months with your account opened you can apply for their credit cards)
The best airport would have to Changi in Singapore: The worst probably any America Airport - Dont ask me why powered flight was invented in America but they have the worst airlines and the worst airports.
Definitely agree and try only to fly out of major hubs which start with good international carriers. Singapore and Qatar come to mind. That being said the best out of the US is Delta.
You mentioned all my favourites. Turkish has a solid product, nice home airport (esp lounge) and great stopover city. I fly star alliance mostly, you won't go too far wrong with any of them, I like to try airlines though, so if something interesting pops up on the fare search at the right time/price I book, as I get bored with repetitive routes
I haven’t flown on any international carriers lately but thank you for the tips. The most recent trips i took were from SFO to Hong Kong and also to Singapore. I flew United Polaris Business Class. The Polaris Business Lounge at SFO was nice, complimentary drinks, food, showers and relaxing with a nice view. The flight was good. No one sitting next to me. Very private. Decent menu selection. I have my miles on United and since they are part of the Star Alliance I can try some of the other airlines once we can travel to Asia again.
I'm in Asia a lot the last 6 years and ANA business is probably my favorite. Right close I'd say is EVA and Cathay. Asiana is next step down with JAL being pretty good too. I even did a couple Chinese business flights, I think like Eastern China Air or something. Not bad. I've never had what I'd call a poor business flight, even when I pick the cheapest options. It's still far better than 16-22 hours in economy and no lounge for layover.
Just a pleb speaking here but I've had only good experiences with Norwegian and Air Panama..... Every single American airline I've ever been on was terrible. And I wouldn't go for a discount of less than probably 25 30% but the tickets for one was like $700 and said I took Norwegian air for $300 and had a meal and entertainment system and everything.
We flew Avianca from Panama to Colombia (after flying from Canada to Panama), and Aviana's service was excellent! It reminded me of Air Canada 20 years ago before North America gave up on competing based on service and began the race to the bottom that is cheapest ticket price.
Anything but Avianca. They canceled my flight from Spain to Colombia without providing any reason, plus support just never answers any questions. I had to dispute through my card issuer and demand a chargeback which took months. This whole process disrupted my future plans so much that it will probably be remembered as one of the most influential product cancellations in my life LOL. Plus, it's not only me, there is also a big group of people on Facebook who had a similar experience so my advice is never to trust Avianca!
Never understood, what the inflight differences between airlines should really be. I fly Economy, but I never really saw any differences between airlines during flight in more than a hundred flights with probably 3 dozens of airlines. I sit down, do my stuff, and after a few hours I get off. Sometimes, there are differences in the check-in or boarding process, but here I also don‘t necessarily see, that the higher priced airlines offer a general experience in general.
I think this is not an accurate analysis or opinion on airlines .. I have travelled to more than 70 countries in world and much more than this on cities .. in my opinion , someone should compare airlines with main destinations , specially for longer distances with such categories of economy , business and First-class.. cuz usually the big airlines uses best model aircrafts on main destinations .. so I recommend for example compare few airlines with main hubs like london , New York , Sydney , dubai and others .. or compare similar short destinations and not short flights with longer flights on different airlines and main hub to small hub .. I been traveling on some same airline for example to different destinations and I could see difference cuz of duration of flight , type of aircraft and category of class .. for example . You need to compare apple to apple on emirates airline . Qatar airline , etihad airline turkish airline departure from New York to point of country origin airline city arrival and Vice versa this is my honest opinion .. cuz such long destinations where it includes all category classes and not compare apple with something else ..
My favorite airlines are none. Can't put my life in someone else's hands. You never know if the 28 year old pilot is depressed and decides to crash the plane. I'll be glad to take a boat.
I fly Turkish Airlines coach as I am retired and am not a 7 figure person, and love the service. I fly Houston to Istanbul, to Moscow and back and layovers in Istanbul are comfortable
Best Airlines in the world: Singapore, Etihad and Emirates. Intermediate: Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic. The worst: BA and all American based ones, but Delta and United the worst of all although Turkish is also awful. Ethiopian worth honorable mention, better than I expected.
My experiences: - Excellent: Japan Airlines, Singapore, KLM, Qantas, Virgin Australia - Good but not great: EVA, Emirates, Lufthansa, Air New Zealand, Delta, AeroMexico, LATAM - Absolute rubbish: American, Southwest, Jetstar (owned by Qantas)
People don't want to say which are the bad airlines in case they get blacklisted ... but B.A. used to be good now BAD. Eg: l asked for saccarine for my coffee and they only had one _sweet'n'low_ in *business class* ... l take 6.
I noticed that on my trip from Panama to Colombia, the flight attendants were clearly selected for their looks and service. Even my wife commented on how nice it was to see flight attendants that cared about their make, hair, nails, and presenting a professional image.
Swiss are great, had some fantastic meals on their short haul business class service, nice seats and great service. Similar with TAP Portugal. Not sure I agree about Emirates, I have always had a fantastic service from them. What wins with Emirates and some of the other Middle Eastern carriers, is the cheuffeur drive, even on the saver tickets. Book the flights, arrange the pick-up and drop off, done! Also never had a problem with Emirates lounge network, anywhere I fly to it's been tremendous, great food, good service and very comfortable. As with many airlines, if you plan ahead and work out exactly what you need, then you can make the journey much more comfortable and most of the time you can pre-book your meals, which also ensures they don't run out of your choices. Also not sure what aircraft you flew with Emirates, but I don't fly on their 777's, only the 380's and the space is generous although not the best, it's still very comfortable. I have flown Emirates dozens of times and yes you get the odd flight when the food isn't the best or the cabin crew are miserable, but the overall experience for me has been worth every penny, and I always pay for my business class tickets in full, and use the miles to upgrade to first class when needed.
What are your favorite airlines?
I'll save everyone some time. All the airlines suck. They deserve to go out of biz and new companies take their place.

Singapore amongst the best.

British is fair enough as well.
American Airlines never again! I am brazilian so I can also say brazilian airlines are overall bad as well.
I don't know about others but Turkish Airlines was a good experience, better than Lufthansa.
It’s not particularly the American carriers I dislike, but the American airports. They don’t seem to have invested in them since 1975.
I have found I like the Japanese airlines the best. Great food and service in both economy and business.

Mr. Henderson can you also do a "best and worst airports"?? For methe worst CDG (charlie degaul paris) and ALL of u.s airports
As a Frenchman, I have to agree with you about Charles De Gaulle. This airport, like the man of same name, are among the shames for France.

Yes, I recommend both airlines

I enjoyed Eva Air
How come you didn't mention Cathay Pacific? Your thoughts?
Andrew, is there any particular reason you have not considered chartered airlines or flights?
He can’t afford it.
He can’t even afford first class, lmao.
I found recently Singapore airlines Perth to London via Singapore did not live up to it's reputation, also crushed my Gibson guitar case.
It's true. I once flew on Frontier and it was miserable. Never again. Not worth the savings.
I fly emirates very often. Great planes. Excellent service. 🇦🇪
Too bad it takes 25 years of drone attacks to get the planes to depart...
Taliban Joe Airways or Air Guatemala Kamala are the best airlines for free stuff. You get free Wi-Fi, email servers and connections for your laptops. In business class you can order h00kers. There is a special offer at the moment of buy one pay for five.
Turkish Airlines delicious meals!
I worked for Qatar Airways, the European office was always under staff. In high season it was impossible to change tickets and I had to move some people by months!
8:24 Hand out card with a poop emoji. 😂
The 90s you can’t give a point of view based on 30 years ago… I mean seriously my Internet connection was bad in the 90s so it it’s bad now…. ?
Bahaha had the same 5mg thing on Iberia business this summer. Hilarious.
But dude...not fair to judge airlines unless flown many flights. For example, I've had some Emirates flights that are AA quality, and some that are 5 star. Always depends on how new the plane is.
You could have my seat on Turkish Airline. I had an awful experience.
Japan airline and Thai airways is good.
"Free" wifi in Turkish business class? How much is the fare?
Probably expensive as hell.
Turkish is among the cheapest in business class
Turkish Airlines👍
Singapore Airlines was great for me . LAX to Phuket.
How much is the fare
My favorite long haul carriers (business class).
1.) Eva Air
2.) Qatar
3.) Korean Air
My favorite is Turkish airlines 🎈
You should try Etihad airways they are amazing
Emirates was the best I experienced.
I flew on Avianca between the ABC islands and they were horrible. Like 2-hour delays horrible.
How about the actual flight itself. Also, you’re on vacation, if time was so important, you would’ve been back home working
Turkish , Qatar , Singapore those are best airlines . Alitalia, China south , United , Pegasus ,Sri Lankan airline are the worst .
I wonder what your thoughts are on British Airways and KLM on intercontinental flights…
Delta and American business class on transatlantic flights are both surprisingly good.
Probably Qatar and Singapore Airlines. I would love to know which credit cards are you using, Im not a US resident, I don't have any incomes from US, but all my credit cards are from US banks because they have very good rewards.
Don’t you pay high foreign transaction fees?
BREX is great for those without credit and e-commerce business
@@Jack-hh9th I don't have foreign transaction fees, even with free credit cards
I would love to know how you can get these cards without being a resident
@@nicolas4771 you don't need to be a US resident to apply for credit cards at least in BOA (you have to apply for a secured credit card during 6 months and then to a real credit card) )and Citi (After 3 months with your account opened you can apply for their credit cards)
Avianca is very underrated. Emirates is worth doing at least once ;)
why is emirates worth trying? even in the lowest class?
Royal Brunei treated me like a king
KLM are ok, but dont expect any razzle dazzle, the dutch are thrifty
Hey, Andrew. Tell us what airports you really love and what airports you really hate.
The best airport would have to Changi in Singapore: The worst probably any America Airport - Dont ask me why powered flight was invented in America but they have the worst airlines and the worst airports.
@@acmelbourne jeeez i miss changi !
Ryanair is an insult for travellers
To be capable of booking Ryanair your IQ must be room temperature (during checkout you must fill out the box)
Best: Singapore Airlines: Worst: Any American Airlines: Used to be Good: Cathay Pacific
All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines. Without peer. My best experience. And no undesirable passengers.
My favourite airlines are Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa.
US Major Airlines are a step down compared to Middle Eastern/European airlines
"a step down..?" Call them the pitts!
Definitely agree and try only to fly out of major hubs which start with good international carriers. Singapore and Qatar come to mind. That being said the best out of the US is Delta.
Rather like falling from a building.
Etihad, Singapore Airlines
I haven’t flown on any international carriers lately but thank you for the tips. The most recent trips i took were from SFO to Hong Kong and also to Singapore. I flew United Polaris Business Class. The Polaris Business Lounge at SFO was nice, complimentary drinks, food, showers and relaxing with a nice view. The flight was good. No one sitting next to me. Very private. Decent menu selection. I have my miles on United and since they are part of the Star Alliance I can try some of the other airlines once we can travel to Asia again.
Lufthansa, Singapore and KLM. British Airways is ok, short of really good.
I like Eva Air. I've always wanted to fly Cathay, Korean Air and ANA. Goodnto know they are good options.
@@jaws2003 Not sure I've been on Korean, but I'm sure it's top notch. Give us a report when you finally go after this whole mess clears up.
Delta is at the bottom
@blurble923 overall customer service was unbelievably lacking on the 3 flights that I took.
You just credibility when you used cuz…
Any LH, BA or Qatar first class.
This is a treat to hear! Thank you!
My favorite airlines are none. Can't put my life in someone else's hands. You never know if the 28 year old pilot is depressed and decides to crash the plane. I'll be glad to take a boat.
Bamboo Dude, the sea in the Atlantic Ocean is rough though.
Thank you for sharing
I fly Turkish Airlines coach as I am retired and am not a 7 figure person, and love the service. I fly Houston to Istanbul, to Moscow and back and layovers in Istanbul are comfortable
I am banned from boarding any Airline. Guess why........
Turkish Airlines, ANA Air, Qatar, Singapore Air, Cathay Pacific, Emirates for the Win!!!!!!
Singapore, Turkish, Qatar Airways.
Whichever airlines not having gestapo for flight attendants
You didn’t mention the best airline in the sky - ANA
Best Airlines in the world:
Singapore, Etihad and Emirates.
Intermediate:
Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic.
The worst:
BA and all American based ones, but Delta and United the worst of all although Turkish is also awful.
Ethiopian worth honorable mention, better than I expected.
Singapore, British Airways, Turkish, Avianca, KLM,
Stay away from: Malaysian, Royal Brunei, any Venezuelan Carrier and Olympic!
My experiences:
- Excellent: Japan Airlines, Singapore, KLM, Qantas, Virgin Australia
- Good but not great: EVA, Emirates, Lufthansa, Air New Zealand, Delta, AeroMexico, LATAM
- Absolute rubbish: American, Southwest, Jetstar (owned by Qantas)
Had the best experience with China Airlines...
Emirates, Qantas and Singapore are my go to airlines.
Worst: Air Canada , no contest.
I will have to agree with you on Turkish . And I /we have loved our stay in Istanbul ( went there for outstanding dental work )
People don't want to say which are the bad airlines in case they get blacklisted ... but B.A. used to be good now BAD. Eg: l asked for saccarine for my coffee and they only had one _sweet'n'low_ in *business class* ... l take 6.
Worst airline is "Viva Aerobus" in Mexico!
In the US: Alaska
I flew Avianca to Galapagos a few years ago. The experience was quite average; nothing to complain about. Flight attendants were stunning however.
I noticed that on my trip from Panama to Colombia, the flight attendants were clearly selected for their looks and service. Even my wife commented on how nice it was to see flight attendants that cared about their make, hair, nails, and presenting a professional image.
I fly steerage with the cheapest us airlines but I find southwest is the best.
Happy 400k.
