I think your title is deceptive. Actually there are more Turks asking for asylum in Europe than non-Turks trying to buy Turkish citizenship. Please do your homework. Why thousands of Turks are trying to cross in to Europe risking their lives? What dos this mean to the future stability of this state? How many political prisoners are in Turkish prisons?
I live in Southern Turkey, in Alanya and I am a Turkish citizen that has spent more than half his life living abroad in four different countries including the USA ( Lived in Seattle, WA ) . I have also been to so many other countries , mostly in Asia and I have to say that Turkey is one of the most livable places on planet earth. Just a few details to share ; The place where I live is like a resort with 4 buildings , there is a gym, two swimming pools, one tennis court, a sauna and a Turkish hamam all available for residents for free . The unit above my apartment just sold for 60,000 USD ( One bedroom apartment ) , the studio next to mine just sold for 42,000 USD. The two bedrooms go for around 75,000 USD . Despite the recent economic turmoil the country is going through , these prices are just a fraction of what they would cost in the USA, Europe, Canada, and Australia. We get 300 days of sunshine , traffic is almost unheard of , we have very clean air as there are no factories nearby or heavy industry . The Turkish cuisine is one of the best in the world especially if you manage to make friends with the locals and get invited to their homes for dinner you will experience the real Turkish cuisine , not just the kebabs that you often find in restaurants. The local farmer's market has the best fresh organic fruits and veggies available, again at a fraction of the cost what you would pay back home. The people are extremely friendly , Turkish hospitality is world famous.. It is extremely safe. Every time I go to the local beach to do my daily runs I always leave my cell phone on my beach bag on the beach chair and never once I have had it stolen. So to cut a long story short, if you are looking for an alternative place to re-locate, Turkey , especially the Turkish coast is an ideal choice..!
I was living in Alanya for a few months 2 years ago and I liked it. As long as you veered away from the touristic places along the beach, prices were very good at restaurants and shops. But I had several locals that befriended me there, tell me that the prices of apartments had doubled from around $60K usd to over $100K usd. The thing I like about Turkey (been 5 times now) is that it feels like everyone there has more personal liberty and freedoms. Like the old wild west in America, but in a good freeing way. Good food, good weather, friendly people.
Thanks for sharing your experience. To the commenters below, no one is forcing you to live in Turkey, the people there could care less if you move there or not
The aspirations of the country are indeed sky high and large part of the Middle East and the Balkans are already under Turkish influence, but if a major earthquake occurs in Istanbul or the economy crashes, this scenario will not work out.
A few advantages of Türkiye.... Foreign sourced pension income is income tax free. Türkiye has double tax agreements with most Western countries. Cost of living around one third US, Australia, UK etc. (No income tax on pension income plus cost of living one third = net income on purchasing power parity basis four times that compared to the outcome if you live in US, Australia etc with the same pension). Fantastic outdoor and culinary lifestyle.... Many international airports with numerous flights around the world - and only a few hours flight to and from all of Europe. Lots of expats in Western Türkiye, so you tend to have a mix of expat and local Turks as friends and neighbours...it's wonderful. More personal freedom...the government does not interfere in your day to day life like it does in the West. What you do on your property is your business. So there is that annoying large tree on your land, just cut it down. Want to build a permanent tool shed on your land just build it - no licence, inspections or other government interference. World class medical and hospital services around 25% of the cost of US etc - and sometimes much lower than this (depending on the service). Turkish people are very warm, welcoming and friendly, with stable, intact and well functioning local communities. Crime is very low - almost non existent in some parts (including where I live in Fethiye). Helps to learn Turkish but not necessary to live here if you are in a community with a lot of expats and/or tourists (as many locals speak English, Russian etc.) That said, better to learn the language and I'm doing that now. I moved to Türkiye four years ago via. Citizenship by Investment Program and never looked back.... Get it while you can. They keep tightening the rules here because demand is so high. Best of luck with your choice.
@@sjr8449 all of this is true and great posts. It's a fantastic place to live. Also for folks from generation X - the mall culture is amazing in Istanbul.
There is also a exception to the rule pertaining to the turkish government remember cult leader Adnan Oktar known as Harun Yahya in 11/22/ 2017 he was sentenced to 8658 years in Prison for espionage and running a sex ring, I think thats the biggest prison sentenced in the world over 8000 years.
..first of I dont think ' freedom of cutting a tree in your land just because it annoys you ' does not say anything positive about a country...but yes you can even decimate a forest for mining if you have the wink wink relations with the political crust in Turkey. And if you know all these things (which you should in case you are really living in Fethiye!) and do not bothered a bit, then you are already turned into an ordinary Turk. But if if you are a troll, then I must say when it comes to luring you are a natural .
During Covid, both Washington state and New York banned evictions even if the tenants didn't pay their rent and many of them didn't pay, so guess what? That's essentially the state seizing property. Oh, and yes, all property taxes still had to be paid! Yes, it can happen in the USA and I would expect it to happen again.
I would advice no one Turkey. I know people, who move to Turkey and they told me that Turkey is not very stable. The immigration policies can change on the fly. Housing market overprices. After 4 years living in Turkey, they decided to move out, as they could not handle constant changes in new requirements. I would advice you to check countries in details before you will recommended.
Immigration policies can change but property rights are respected. You wont lose your citizenship overnight. Because its in the constituion, antecedent right has to be respected.
Of course Turkey is unstable! It's getting radicalized. I remember when I travelled to Istanbul 15 years ago, it was like landing in a modern Western city. I went there recently and half of the women were wearing a whole body burka. And they're fighting the Kurds, and there's always some drama with Armenia and Greece and Cyprus and Israel.
@@JuventusHalukthis guy is spreading misinformation if not he’s working for the government. With the current laws, government can declare your land as a special area of interest and may replace your land with one in another part of the city and most times it’s in a rural town because there’s not any vacant land left in city centers.
I have several Muslim and Turkish friends in my network and they are nothing but good partners, very flat personality, don't play games and do business straightforward. I'll be visiting Turkish next year.
Turkiye is firstly a secular country with a Muslim majority. It has no state religion and there is diversity as there are Sunni, Shia, Ibadi, and various different sects and cultures. Islam is diverse.
There was massive opportunity in Turkish real estate several years. Central Istanbul prices were very cheap given the city's size, significance and location.
Your very cheap apartment would turn into rubbles when there’s an earthquake which is highly likely within a decade. All city would be like Gaza x1000. Unless you buy a single family house in a town that is far far away from the city.
Turkey is not a muslim country. In fact, in its constitution, there is no state religion, even it defines crystal clear as a secular state a property which even most EU contries do not have.
I’m of Turkish origin and yes it is a Muslim country. Maybe 30 years ago it was a secular country but not anymore. Just google “diyanet işleri başkanlığı” ministry of religious affairs and read what the current guy has been saying for the last couple years. Regime in Turkey has changed in 2016. There’s a dictatorship de facto. There’s no freedom of press or rule of law.
@@michaelf3753 Yes, they do. There is a law called TCK 216 for this. I would not recommend Turkey to any living soul. (I say this as someone who wasted ~20 years in this madness)
You mean illegal aliens, or people coming as tourists and then trying to get residence permit? This is a investment by citizenship program, there are better countries for freeloaders. Hop on a boat go to EU get free money + citizenship
Turkiye citizenship was $250,000 but increased to $400,000 and may soon be $1 million. This is due to inflation and many criminals who origin was USA, UK, Australia, and Canada and mass immigrating. Turkiye is a military dictatorship ruled by a brutal dictator Erdogan, who is comparable to Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Muammar Al Qaddafi in Libya or Bashar Al Assad in Syria.
Do you know any of the newly created phrases in Turkiye..? Here is one showing that you are an enemy of Turks: "You can walk on the Bridges in Istanbul from one end to other, and backward, you don't hear anybody speaking in Turkish"! Isn't that interesting for a country that doesn't want foreigners to come??
Thank you for your unbiased opinions. western media usually don't do this. Most of what you said is true and if people want to know something, they should listen to some foreign people who moved to Turkey in their own words. If you want to be in Turkey, I think your reason should be this: I am curious about Eastern culture, but I want to get involved in modern society as soon as possible. If you have a good income from abroad, Türkiye is a place to live with its many features.

One more thing, the turkish property is really overrated especially the last 3 years.
For the last 20+ years Erdogan created a new system, actually, he himself became this system or the biggest part of it, i mean, it's not really all about him personally when you can say like "everything changes when he leaves" I might be wrong but that's my 2 cents. @@RT-nr5ep

As far as Muslim countries go, Malaysia is fantastic. I've had nothing but positive experiences with people there. I could actually see myself live there, though it's not my first option.
Just the right blend of religious and secular society imo, government is a different story. Very little depravity (compared to other developed countries) but wont burn a woman at stake for not wearing the right clothes. Better than france at this point.
Malaysia was first choice, what put me off was not able to work or open a business, they withhold your £300k, after a year you can withdraw half for property investment, other half when you decide to leave???
I really wonder why no one speaks about the risk of a major earthquake in Istanbul. Among the reasons why the richer people from Istanbul began to move to other places recently.
No one wants to cause a mass hysteria, although it's in the air, so to say. People are aware, except those who sell property never mention this 🤫 also, this megacity has around 20.000.000 of population.
@@plonss I completely agree, i have always loved Turkey and my dream has always been to move there when I have the money.... then a Turkish friend said living in Istanbul is like living in a coffin, I had no idea about the threat of Earthquakes till he told me this.... a few months later the terrible earthquake happened. I can't understand how anyone could be at peace in Istanbul knowing that a horrific earthquake is just waiting to happen any day. The only part of Turkey that is realistically livable with least impact from earthquakes is a small area surrounding Anumur which is near to Mersin..... it will be interesting to see how property prices in that area will be affected.
Im 42 years old, for what i can remember Turkiye had 3 major eartquakes from which one hit Istanbul. Thats less than for example California and Tokio. If you live in a strong house an earthquake can not harm you that easy. People can construct homes that can stand a 7 Richter scale homes pretty easy nowadays. Kind off unfair to think this way, the chance that you get robbed in California is way higher than in Istanbul but i dont see people saying that as a reason when they talk about California…
Malaysia is fantastic but apparently chances of getting a citizenship there is close to nil. PR is nice but I have heard a story of a lady not being able to come back to a counry she held PR due to lockdown, but those who held the passport could...
There's no valid reason for a westerner spending 400k to get a passport which is losing its power year by year. Also the cost of living in the country skyrocketed for the past 3-4 years, thanks to the wrong economical decisions taken by the government, driving yearly real inflation over %100. Also they nearly froze the currency for the past 1 year or so which means the country is now having %100+ inflation per year in dollars. So if anybody wants to move there, they need to think wisely because future does not seem bright for Türkiye.
I went to check Istanbul for this passport per property investment. Really new programs are overpriced, most of the existing objects do not have lifts. The geography of Instanbul is difficult, some quite steep hills. I loved the atmosphere, the dynamism, the culturla mix, some of the lovely olde houses. But to invest there did not convice me.
The only issue is there international income tax and on decent earnings its around 40% and what about earthquake a lot of people mentioned? Other than that its favourite country of my wife and if we can figure out on making taxes low there we might move there instead of Malaysia because of the beautiful weather.

Yesterday my car broke down in Ankara, Had to call a tow truck, had a chat with the guy towing the, he said he makes around 3000-3500 Euros eequivalent money a month and on average tows 3 cars a day. Very relaxed job. The income of the people usd wise has gone up drastically in the last 2-3 years, I dont stilll get why it doesnt have a stronger passport. How can Venezuelan or Honduras passport be stronger than Turkiye, its crazy
Anyway let me answer my own question, a lot of this has to do with politics. Whenever shit hits the fan in the world, Turkiyes standing becomes much more valuable. Turks had visa free access to the whole European continent in 60s and 70s, after the cold war, the passport took a huge hit. Back then Turkiye was a poor country, not a upper income economy like today
Because they are Muslim and the west has been fighting against Islam for centuries and it still is, in different fashions. Part of the reason is because Islam is against the western style of capitalism. For example, interested rates on loans are against Islam, and they have a different way of charging interest.
@@DivineGame7 I am Turkish and except for a very small number of strict Muslim minority, I do not know a single Turk who does not give or receive interest!
@@JuventusHalukHaluk let me answer your question. Current government doesn’t want Turkish people to travel to other developed countries and compare the life in those countries with theirs. Because when they leave their bubble, they may see how easy life people are having in Europe and how little role their governments play in their day to day lives. For example, people have to pay $15 just to travel abroad. Name us one developed country that has this kind of taxation. It’s obviously violation of freedom of travel. Another example, cost of having a passport that has very limited freedom to travel western countries is about ~$250. Mind you, minimum wage is around $550. The government wants only rich people to travel.
If the european union breaks apart (which it seems plausible) there could be no incentive on this and if people like Erdogan stay in power and other things like culture and islam's attitude towards the west, this is a pass. I've also heard some negative feedback on people being constantly scammed over there.
Islam’s attitude towards the west? your attitude towards the muslim countries is what lead to how things are nowadays. you got on your knees for the Jews, now your doomed to fail. and oh Islam will spread in south America and Asia and the EU. no matter where you run to. The ocean, the mountains, the land acknowledge God. Your heart keeps on beating by God’s permission and when you die, where are u running to? God 😂😭😭😭 No running from God and his servants.
Turkey looks like a very nice place to live in. Unfortunately like all middle eastern countries and Turkey is located at the very north west of the middle east region and is in a volatile part of the world involving the machinations of Isreali and American influence in the region and as a result a region that has rarely known peace and stability except for a few brief interludes since WW2. Basically if the middle east was a peaceful stable part of the world. It certainly would be one of the best places in the world to live in. It has great sunny weather all year round. Ok thats due to the desert climate of the middle east point is its going to be blue sunny skies all year round. Exotic cultures. Beatiful Islamic architecture and designs. Good looking and sharply well dressed Arab and Turkish men and women and if there is no war in the region which causes animosity would actually be very friendly and welcoming people too. Its a shame the machinations of US led west and Israel has turned this potential paradise into the most volatile region on Earth. Certainly Middle east would be a great tourist destination if it was peaceful. It would showcase the best of Islamic culture and people and most of the west would have a more positive view of the region and its people and culture. The more peaceful and stable parts of the middle east right now. Like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Egypt and Turkey are already very desirable places to live in due to the weath of places like Saudi Arabia and UAE where the standards of living are extremely high. Real shame its a volatile region due to the actions of US and Israel in the region.
Turkiye’s GDP is growing hard. PPP was pretty good for a long time but now the GDP is going up too. We waited a few years longer for this raise but its happening now. It stalled for the last 10 years but at last 20k usd is in sight after almost 10 years being stuck around 10k usd. Turkiye’s importance is growing hard and we have the luck that we have a world class cosmopolitan city like Istanbul. So yes Turkiye is very suited for foreigners who seek for another citizenship. But be warned, a part of the locals dont like foreign citizens with Turkish nationality. Its not that you would get into trouble or whatsoever. Because as soon as they see you they will show their hospitality but when you are gone it will act out of stupidity
You can't apply for your residence permit in certain neighbourhoods because over 20% are foreigners. I don't think it has affected the whole country, just certain districts in certain cities.
Not not at all. The government doesn't believe in nationalism but ummahism, which is the affiliation to Islam. Later on they'll exploit them like us. Come join us.
First of all, one should not be prejudiced. Would you like to go to Anatolia, Turkey or modern Turkey with the night express? There is almost no society or continent left that I have not interacted with. Everyone can build their world in return for their efforts.

Turkiye is great. Unfortunately i only have one unit left there. But the selling of realestate to foreigners driving prices up even more is getting unpopular. All the Turkish people I know and live actually in Turkey have a very good life, but most Turkish people in the West have changed drastically (incl. disengaging from faith etc)
Unfortunately you draw a rosy picture about Turkey. Millions of young and old Turks wants to leave the country because of economy, judiciary, education and other institutions are in complete chaos. Life is very expensive. Food prices are very expensive even more than western countries. There is a huge disparity among the wages. Minimum wages is £400 and state pension is less than £300. Because Turkish people are so proud and parotitic so that must mean their country is perfect and richer than Switzerland. because swiss people complain too much compared to the proud Turks who live in the greatest country in the world apart from maybe India.
Only 10% of Turkish people have passports and most of them are for visiting Saudi Arabia to do pilgrimage to Mecca or Medina. They don’t know anything about the other countries except what they’re told on news channels most of which are owned by Erdogan and his oligarchs. They all tell the same stories about the world. We are great and others are suffering 😂. There’s a huge propaganda machine in media in Turkey. Real journalists are either imprisoned for telling the truth to people or had to fled the country to continue doing their jobs. Most Turkish people don’t speak a second language like English to learn what’s going on around the world and nationalist indoctrination makes them feel more comfortable with what they’re told.
Plus they have to apply for Schengen visa to travel to Europe and visa approval rates are dropping because of the mass immigration to western countries.

Every time I go to the local beach to do my daily runs I always leave my cell phone on my beach bag on the beach chair and never once I have had it stolen. So to cut a long story short, if you are looking for an alternative place to re-locate, Turkey , especially the Turkish coast is an ideal choice..!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
And what about right for minorities like Christian ? And don’t bullshit me I am also born in Turkey
Ok, but now put your Kurdish friend on the phone and we'd like to talk to him. ;)
Thanks for sharing your experience. To the commenters below, no one is forcing you to live in Turkey, the people there could care less if you move there or not
Turkey is underrated. And I believe it will become the most powerful country in Europe in 20 years.
Turkey is as much in Europe as Spain is in Africa.
Spain is in Europe and Turkey is in Asia.

Best of luck with your choice.

..first of I dont think ' freedom of cutting a tree in your land just because it annoys you ' does not say anything positive about a country...but yes you can even decimate a forest for mining if you have the wink wink relations with the political crust in Turkey. But if if you are a troll, then I must say when it comes to luring you are a natural .
Turkish airlines and Istanbul airport being the top hub in the world can be mentioned too. Its so cheap and accessible to fly there.
Yeah thousands of people just took people's assets hostage over something designed to "help"

Were. Not now 😄 But still should compete with western european countries
Your very cheap apartment would turn into rubbles when there’s an earthquake which is highly likely within a decade. All city would be like Gaza x1000. Unless you buy a single family house in a town that is far far away from the city.
That opportunity has passed. Prices are sky high now
Turkey is not a muslim country.

Turkey want people with money, not broke or poor foreigners. Any decent earner will have no problem with any of the recent changes.
Turkiye citizenship was $250,000 but increased to $400,000 and may soon be $1 million. This is due to inflation and many criminals who origin was USA, UK, Australia, and Canada and mass immigrating. Türkiye not Turkey
400k is nothing for multi-millionaires, that's why. Plus they'll sell the property after 5 or how many years.

No crypto tax
The bread is magnificent in Turkey.
I will donate 1000 $ to become citizen here😂😂😂😂😂
Christians leaved in Iran for over 400 years which is a Muslim country, we had just respect nothing else.
Iran isn't a Muslim country, a Muslim country will follow the appropriate Sharia laws, what is currently in Iran is not Islam and second of all most Muslims that are in Iran are Shia which is also not Islam! It's like saying the USA is a Christian country when it's totally not, there are no Christian countries at all for a fact, the only real practicing Christians will live alongside Muslims and live in Georgia, Dagestan, and other east European/Asian countries.
Christians lived in Iran for 2000 years man. The Sasanian Empire had a Chaldean Orthodox population too.
the food alone is worth 400k 😄
especially the chemicals that comes with it...yummy!
I wanted very much to visit Turkey, not anymore. The conduct of the Turkish government and many of its citizens lately towards foreigners, except Europeans of course , is deplorable.

Some morons talk about politics but this channel is not for that. I hope everyone to understand that.
Everything around you is influenced by politics and Turkish people are very much into politics. So if you find yourself in Turkey living in a neighborhood with Turkish people, prepare yourself for talking about turkish politics. You clearly don’t know anything about Turkish society and country. Every day there’s a new story about taxes and lifestyle choices.
Utter nonsense, unsubscribe 👍
You can purchase property, get citizenship, sell the property for a profit after 5 years, pay 0 capital gains tax and keep the citizenship. As a bonus, the country has the world's #1 travel hub and world class beaches and ancient sites.

with his gain by making such a video, I guess he would tolerate loosing a few educated viewers. But unlike him we ordinary Turks will never gain anything in return by the tax money used for such advertorials.🤐
Don't forget about the currency instability. Your 400000 USD might go down a lot in value after some years of 20% currency devaluation.
There’s no point. It’s not safe over there & surprisingly no Turk I know never wants to go back & live there.
Not the best time to be promoting Turkiye considering Erdogan is looking at going to war against the Kurds in Syria shortly?...surely there are other more peaceable zones in the world you can promote? otherwise like your content!
arent you a bit intelligent to ask such a naive qn???
400k USD? The answer is a definite no, 100k maybe maybe.

The Ottoman Empire hasn't existed for a 100 years now. Might as well complain about the atrocities committed by the British and French Empires.
Dont ever set foot in Germany then.
