Watching from Medellin. As someone with homes in Italy, Brazil, and business in Colombia i can tell you life outside the USA is more cost effective, I am treated better, had a 11 course Omakase with wine pairing last night at $120 usd. If you like that sort of stuff most developed cities will deliver more for less.

@@momo_san1980we went to spaland in korea 11.50 usd for 4 hours at least 10 different sauna rooms, hot springs,a cafe with ice and hot drinks and snacks with very very inexpensive prices, you can get massage, manicure, pedicure a restaurant upstairs and a game room, there were more but I don't even remember lol
@@momo_san1980 I used to live in Hong Kong, the quirk there was you had third world pricing for day to day purchases, but housing and vehicles were WAY more expensive than in America. If you could afford a suburban McMansion with a swimming pool in the US, best you were doing in HK was a 900sqft apartment north of the city where the hallways smelled like people’s cooking and you could hear piano lessons through the walls 😂. Boy were you making a sacrifice in that category.
I think many people are missing the bigger picture of this live like a king series. What Andrew is showing that every country has a wealthy class and you can live that lifestyle in that country if you choose to. Especially in places where your US dollar can go a long way in their respected currency. Lastly, it isn’t uncommon for foreigners to mingle with the wealthy natives, quite common actually.

@@mistica-10 true. I left the UK in 97 when I was 29. I didn't need a lot of money. In fact at times I had only 50$ left but I never thought about going back. Now I live in Bulgaria where the tax is flat 10% and it's the lowest cost country in the EU, and Panama which has territorial taxation. I have a Bulgarian wife and when I look back I'm glad I left the UK when I did. If I had not gone I would have got a mortgage and obligations and I would still be there in the rat race. If you feel like an adventure, don't hesitate. That window of opportunity might not present itself again for a very long time.
This series have given me an idea. Every vacation we take, we are going to play James Bond. We’re getting dressed up and going to a fancy place. We’re gonna enjoy a fancy wine tasting. We’re gonna see a local opera, we’re gonna hire a driver to take us to these events . This is how I see the series. Living abroad even for those with under $100,000 can live like that. I think I got some more ideas for 2025. Life is good here in Colombia to enjoy travel elsewhere.
'Live like a King' is fun to watch and a lot of regular people can live like a king in other less expensive countries. A lot of wealthy people live very modestly and will not flaunt it.

A profound experience that shaped my life after was the San Francisco earthquake of1989. In a giant catastrophe people are truly scary. Aanother example, survivors of a ship sinking cling to a liferaft for a day or two. Panic sets in and o e man murders others for their share of food and water. They are rescued the next day. In the coming days guard yourself and your family. Do not depend on others for anything, or at least for as little as possible. I am perfectly happy with my decision to live in Ecuador. Military survival school teaches you the hierarchy of needs: water, shelter, food. Keep this in mind as the world spirals out of control.

I've lived most of my life in the USA and Australia. I have traveled and lived in other countries and I can attest that there are PLENTY of places around the world that you can live nicely and enjoy a good life out of the rat race.

The properties i have in cheap countries, all toghether , cost me yearly what the one in the Uk was costing me monthly and that is considering i did not have a mortgage!!!!!!!!! Wonderful. The Chow Kit leads to the Tuanku Abdul Rahman road that leads to the old town area of KL at Merdeka (Independence) Square. The Chow Kit area also is next to Kampung Baru, the last Malay village in the city center, walkable via the Saloma Link to the very near KLCC, the most iconic landmark in KL. By the way, there are many illegal immigrants in Chow Kit area especially the Indonesian at the Chow Kit wet market. The local authorities seemed to take their own sweet time to eradicate this problem. There are little Dhaka, little Jakarta in KL, nothing that the Malaysian can be proud of.
@ we walked that route from Chow Kit, Kampung Baru, Soloma link to Suria KLCC easy route. Had lunch and walked back. Not hot as we expected. Locals were friendly and asking us if we were lost! Everything good. Had a walk in the evening to the food centre - Last exit, very friendly and nice tasty food. Enjoying our visit. We also walked to Merdeka Square, my wife painted the older white building - I went for a coffee! We then got roast duck and rice in the central market as it was easy and great tasting - then got a Grab back to the hotel, very hot and sunny and we’d already walked 13,000 steps!
I love this video! This is so true. In many ways I used to live in a nicer place in Sao Paulo Brazil than I do now in Toronto. Our society is so brainwashed. I'm not denying the data here regarding violence and HDI, but data is an average and the reality is a lot more complex than that. Three days ago my condo in Toronto was invaded by a homeless guy who rang the emergency alarm and proceeded to undress himself. I have never experienced that in my home country, neither have any of my friends who currently live there. Yet this is something that has happened to some other friends in Toronto. Every place has problems, just choose the problems you want to have. It's starting to look like the problems for north America are not worth it anymore at this point. It's seeping ever so closer to Latin America every day without the "good parts" such as affordability, family values and good food. Sidenote, my dad was born in Bogota and he kinda looks like you hahaha

Heres a reality check. Theres always a bigger, better boat. I built a sailboat in Maryland. I was very proud of my accomplishment. It had new paint, decking, rigging, interior etc., etc. When I got to Florida there were nicer and newer boats everywhere. One day I was wandering the marina and saw the most beautiful, grand yacht. While marvelling at its size and quality craftsmanship a bigger more magnificent yacht pulled in. It was double the size of the one I was just looking at. It was so nice in fact that the older o e no longer looked all that wonderful. This is the situation for billionaires.
I live in Shenzhen China, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Ho HCMC Vietnam. All these places are much safer than these legacy brand cities such as London, New York, and LA. Don't believe me? I take the subway in Hong Kong and the gentleman sitting next to me was wearing a gold Rolex. Try that in New York or London.
I do volunteer veterinary services for indigenous communities in rural areas of South America, and I aspire to be a digital nomad so I can do more volunteer work. The people down there are so appreciative of the help, a stark contrast to how I'm treated in the states doing the same thing. I would love another LLAK video in LATAM for more inspiration.
Everything depends on how you want to live. I'm perfectly happy sitting around reading books and eating street tacos. I'm using my wealth to sit around on a balcony overlooking the ocean while I read books and eat street tacos. And drink expensive scotch. I'm not cheap, I'm boring.

I've left the US a year ago. I'll honestly say it was the best decision Ive ever made. I live in a country that I think is overlooked alot (Morocco). Just living here I've been able to live like a king and double my savings. This year im going to diversify my money and by the end of the year buy a property.

Born in Manhattan sitting in my car eating a tuna on rye with a cup of coffee is living like a king. I met some strange people in the southwest they traveled to NYC for a few days and act like they are better than me because they ate at a Michelin star restaurant I told them me too.

This is not something Andrew can do. Pretty sure he still has no kids. The challenge with young children is that it is going to be quite difficult to raise the capital to get residency permits and transportation to move someplace better (unless you meet Andrew's criteria). How you do this will depend on where you are starting from. Sell as many possessions as possible and move into a tent in a low cost campground. Ecuador is probably the easiest if someone in the family has a college degree and you can work remotely at a good wage. Live with a lower cost of living for a time and you will be able to save enough to add some royal elements to your life such as Disneyland trips
I will live like a king by staying in nice hotels. And doing activities as much as I want. And having enough that just don't have to worry about money. I don't need fancy dining, just healthy food. I, and 7 million little friends, are hitting the road soon enough.

It was a more interesting play before they introduced CFC rules earlier this year, but with the right structure an American could live in Albania and reduce their taxes with the FTC and FEIE there while earning a passport that fills some interesting gaps that many other citizenships leave out.

Already in the early 1970s, when my expat journey started, first Amsterdam Bruxelles Paris, Barcelona I took with some girls to Southampton, creating a community in a old Watermill. Non of the nighbours did say hello - but when a Rolls Roys did passing, people did stop and bow nearly down to the sidewalk. This kind of snobbish life, I leaned to hate. Especiially when this guys did live from the money of their family and did have very little selv-asteem. Compensating with big car, big house, butler and debth over both ears. We found in the springtime unter the leaves in the garden a huge canvas tarpaulin - covering a swimmingpool. One of the girls did drag it to the forefront of our garden and did paint huge rings on top like a huge dartboard. For the first time ever, our Nighbours did show up and was curious and asked what she was doing. ‘It’s our New Helicopter landing place’ was her ironic answer. Det next day all nighbours did bow down when we passed with our Volvo. Tragic and I still hate this snobbish live style. Espesially when I realized, this guys had lot of debth and did liv from the wealth of their family and I know as an Psycho therapist, they most of the time have very low selv-esteem and need to compensate with huge cars, huge houses, butler and all this liabilities to act as a rich and show off. I like more the Getty version were the grandson of Poul Getty did come on his Harley to a hotel in New York in Jeans and T-shirt and asket for a room. The guy behind the desk did ignore him. The stuff did refuse to talk to him and he got throwen out on the street. He come back some hours later and the guy behind the desk was even more unfriendly, calling the police. Getty very quietly told him: ‘I did buy the hotel and now give me a room and you are fired’. See that is real freedom…! Snobbs copy bust each other with golf and champagne and caviar, very little own style. No Lifestyle I whish, no matter how much money I have. I live in Scandinavia in an real Kingdom where we did see the Queen in our bakery like everybody else. Everybody is greeting but no big fuzz.
You’re projecting your needs and wants onto others. People are different and want and need different things. There are people who have a perfectly happy life and never wanted kids (or can’t have kids due to medical reasons) or never wanted to be married, that’s what the beauty of freedom is. People need to stop projecting their stuff and then generalizing and thinking everyone wants what you want or thinks like you because it simply is not true and happiness comes from within. If you keep chasing happiness outside of yourself, you’ll constantly be chasing and never attain it.

There is alot of good things there, but the advice on Georgia is a bit outdated. Because Georgia is at number two in the line after Ukraine on where Russia will attack next, so i wouldn't bank my money in that country. There are other neutral coutries that are better for banking, like Serbia. Serbia will never be attacked by Russia, because Russia has to go trough NATO in order to reach Serbia, so much safer there.

By the way, there are many illegal immigrants in Chow Kit area especially the Indonesian at the Chow Kit wet market. The local authorities seemed to take their own sweet time to eradicate this problem. There are little Dhaka, little Jakarta in KL, nothing that the Malaysian can be proud of.
@ we walked that route from Chow Kit, Kampung Baru, Soloma link to Suria KLCC easy route. Had lunch and walked back. Not hot as we expected. Locals were friendly and asking us if we were lost! Everything good. Had a walk in the evening to the food centre - Last exit, very friendly and nice tasty food. Enjoying our visit. We also walked to Merdeka Square, my wife painted the older white building - I went for a coffee! We then got roast duck and rice in the central market as it was easy and great tasting - then got a Grab back to the hotel, very hot and sunny and we’d already walked 13,000 steps!

I love this video! This is so true. In many ways I used to live in a nicer place in Sao Paulo Brazil than I do now in Toronto. Our society is so brainwashed. I'm not denying the data here regarding violence and HDI, but data is an average and the reality is a lot more complex than that.
Three days ago my condo in Toronto was invaded by a homeless guy who rang the emergency alarm and proceeded to undress himself. I have never experienced that in my home country, neither have any of my friends who currently live there. Yet this is something that has happened to some other friends in Toronto.
Every place has problems, just choose the problems you want to have. It's starting to look like the problems for north America are not worth it anymore at this point. It's seeping ever so closer to Latin America every day without the "good parts" such as affordability, family values and good food.

Heres a reality check. Theres always a bigger, better boat. I built a sailboat in Maryland. I was very proud of my accomplishment. It had new paint, decking, rigging, interior etc., etc. When I got to Florida there were nicer and newer boats everywhere. One day I was wandering the marina and saw the most beautiful, grand yacht. While marvelling at its size and quality craftsmanship a bigger more magnificent yacht pulled in. It was double the size of the one I was just looking at. It was so nice in fact that the older o e no longer looked all that wonderful. This is the situation for billionaires.
I live in Shenzhen China, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Ho HCMC Vietnam. All these places are much safer than these legacy brand cities such as London, New York, and LA. Don't believe me? I take the subway in Hong Kong and the gentleman sitting next to me was wearing a gold Rolex. Try that in New York or London.
I do volunteer veterinary services for indigenous communities in rural areas of South America, and I aspire to be a digital nomad so I can do more volunteer work. The people down there are so appreciative of the help, a stark contrast to how I'm treated in the states doing the same thing. I would love another LLAK video in LATAM for more inspiration.
Everything depends on how you want to live. I'm perfectly happy sitting around reading books and eating street tacos. I'm using my wealth to sit around on a balcony overlooking the ocean while I read books and eat street tacos. And drink expensive scotch. I'm not cheap, I'm boring.

I've left the US a year ago. I'll honestly say it was the best decision Ive ever made. I live in a country that I think is overlooked alot (Morocco). Just living here I've been able to live like a king and double my savings. This year im going to diversify my money and by the end of the year buy a property.

This is not something Andrew can do. Pretty sure he still has no kids. The challenge with young children is that it is going to be quite difficult to raise the capital to get residency permits and transportation to move someplace better (unless you meet Andrew's criteria). How you do this will depend on where you are starting from. Sell as many possessions as possible and move into a tent in a low cost campground. Ecuador is probably the easiest if someone in the family has a college degree and you can work remotely at a good wage. Live with a lower cost of living for a time and you will be able to save enough to add some royal elements to your life such as Disneyland trips

I will live like a king by staying in nice hotels. And doing activities as much as I want. And having enough that just don't have to worry about money. I don't need fancy dining, just healthy food. I, and 7 million little friends, are hitting the road soon enough.

Already in the early 1970s, when my expat journey started, first Amsterdam Bruxelles Paris, Barcelona I took with some girls to Southampton, creating a community in a old Watermill. Non of the nighbours did say hello - but when a Rolls Roys did passing, people did stop and bow nearly down to the sidewalk. This kind of snobbish life, I leaned to hate. Especiially when this guys did live from the money of their family and did have very little selv-asteem. Compensating with big car, big house, butler and debth over both ears.
We found in the springtime unter the leaves in the garden a huge canvas tarpaulin - covering a swimmingpool.
One of the girls did drag it to the forefront of our garden and did paint huge rings on top like a huge dartboard. For the first time ever, our Nighbours did show up and was curious and asked what she was doing. ‘It’s our New Helicopter landing place’ was her ironic answer. Det next day all nighbours did bow down when we passed with our Volvo. Tragic and I still hate this snobbish live style. Espesially when I realized, this guys had lot of debth and did liv from the wealth of their family and I know as an Psycho therapist, they most of the time have very low selv-esteem and need to compensate with huge cars, huge houses, butler and all this liabilities to act as a rich and show off.
I like more the Getty version were the grandson of Poul Getty did come on his Harley to a hotel in New York in Jeans and T-shirt and asket for a room. The guy behind the desk did ignore him. The stuff did refuse to talk to him and he got throwen out on the street. He come back some hours later and the guy behind the desk was even more unfriendly, calling the police.
Getty very quietly told him: ‘I did buy the hotel and now give me a room and you are fired’. See that is real freedom…!

You’re projecting your needs and wants onto others. People are different and want and need different things. There are people who have a perfectly happy life and never wanted kids (or can’t have kids due to medical reasons) or never wanted to be married, that’s what the beauty of freedom is.
People need to stop projecting their stuff and then generalizing and thinking everyone wants what you want or thinks like you because it simply is not true and happiness comes from within. If you keep chasing happiness outside of yourself, you’ll constantly be chasing and never attain it.

There is alot of good things there, but the advice on Georgia is a bit outdated. Because Georgia is at number two in the line after Ukraine on where Russia will attack next, so i wouldn't bank my money in that country. There are other neutral coutries that are better for banking, like Serbia. Serbia will never be attacked by Russia, because Russia has to go trough NATO in order to reach Serbia, so much safer there.
I know how to cook all that great steak, etc. So I don't really need to go anywhere, but would like Mexico...
