Hi, I just bought a supernova automatic on Sunday. I am very lucky because it is in great conditions and the lady that sold it to me was very lovely and took very good care of it. I am loving your videos and I learned a lot about this type of machines, I did not know anything about them. It is so hard to find good information on these Necchi machines. I am so grateful to you for sharing your knowledge and I so much look forward in learning more. Thank you and 👋 from Milano.
@@necchi-pavia sure: to make a small bobbin on front we push it toward the right so it touch the big wheel to operate. There is a gasket or rubber part around this little wheel behind. That’s the part I am looking for.

Hi there, thanx for the videos, got 2 questions: i got a spernova julia and a supernova julia 534 (for you, which one is better?) and also, are the hand wheels exchangable between them? im thinking about taking the 534 hand wheel in the supernova julia. thanx in advance!
Hello there, I only know the NECCHI Supernova Julia with the designation "534". In later versions, the designation 534 could have been omitted... Basically, I would tend to the 534. My experience shows that the older machines are of better quality. From the late 1960s, plastic was used for more and more machine components. In addition, the entire production line wears out and tolerances increase. The handwheel could fit, but it is definitely dimensioned differently in the 1/100 millimeter range. Shaft and hand wheel are also certainly matched to each other as far as tolerances are concerned. So if the dispenser machine comes from a different batch, or even the model designation changes, and the production machines have been set up again, the tolerances no longer fit. I understand the machines and their mechanics as a unit, from a single source. I would still be interested to know what color the Julia has without the designation 534 and what its surface is like. Is it one with a rough surface in a satin finish? I don't get anything like that on my table here in Europe. We didn't offer it, maybe not even then when it was still available to buy new... Greetings
@@necchi-pavia Thank you very much for the answer, the two machines have the same color (white and gray) the finish is the same, the only difference is in the knobs. I understand that it is better to replace parts of the same models. Now im working uin the supernova Julia, is in better condition. I tried to send a link with photos but it did not upload. Thank you very much for your videos and for answering!
OK thanks, The first machine Julia without 534 addition is from the last series, this has a plastic gear in the area above where the automatic is driven. You can see it when the top lid is removed. In addition, she has the magnifying glass of the Supernova Ultra Mark 2. I have the same machine, as well as another one with the 534 identifier. Color Gray White is standard, but pink and lilac were also available.
Sir Enjoy your videos very much. I have a necchi supernova automatic. Unable to remove hanwheel. Model does not have the screws around the handwheel as you show on this video...any suggestions, Also I can only find a singer wheel strap. It seems alittle tight and can only attach one screw when I re attach motor, Do you reccoent where I can buy a real necchi strap or similar. Thanks
I am having a problem with tightening the wheel on the end of my Necchi sewing machine. When I try to tighten it, it just keeps going round and round. Is there anything I can do to get it to tighten? Thank you.
@ sharon Reynolds Hello try to remove both small screws on the plastic wheel on the back of the handwheel. Then turn the small plastic wheel clockwise (to the right) and secure it. Then the handwheel should be positively connected to the rest of the mechanics and the drive should work. Now try to reassemble both small screws. At the end it should be so that you can turn the small plastic wheel to the left until it blocks after about an eighth of a turn. That would be the position where the handwheel turns without operating the rest of the machine. The spool can then be wound up. Turn it to the right to lock it and start sewing ... Hope this helps, thank you very much for your interest.
Hi j.a. my Lycia zig zag a bit when the lever is completely to the left on zero (straight stitch), do you have any ideas about how to fix it? I'm just asking around to see if someone can point me in the right direction.
Hello, the setting is usually fine even after many years. The machine should be well oiled and the mechanics overall should be clean. Unfortunately I do not know the exact condition and the exact type. 522 or 524. ??? First everything has to be very smooth, the mechanics have to be 100% operational. A machine that is used after years of inactivity only gradually comes back to full function. I'll try to clarify this in a post, but it can take some time before it's online ...
@@necchi-pavia Yes, the machine has been cleaned and oiled, the flywheel was stuck and is free now. Motor was serviced. everything seems to work. So far that is the only mechanic issue I have found. it is a Lycia LAC free arm, it looks similar to a supernova Mark II but white and free arm. I'll upload a video of the machine once I find how to correct this issue.
After removing the middle part with the 2 screws, A 4" pulley puller with 3 legs can remove the rest of the flywheel. Place some small felt pieses between the legs and the wheel) and place a coin between the middle pin of the puller and the center of your handwheel, to avoid damage to the metal of the flywheel. Pulley pullers can be bought cheaply from any hardware store or automobile parts store.

If you know the size and the exact size of the V-belt, you can find it almost everywhere. The problem is nobody has a list from which it could be read which V-belt fits into a supernova etc. These old machines are no longer directly supported, so you have to know exactly what is suitable. So it cannot be searched for directly ...
merci , les videos m ont bien aidé
