My local shop organises by compatability levels. It's a traffic light system. Tanks with green stickers are all suitable to live togther harmoniously. Tanks with orange stickers can live with each other, but they'll eat the green sticker fish. Tanks with red stickers will eat or kill everything but its own kind. I'd like to see both systems combined. Having tank size sections labeled with the compatibility levels would go a long way to stopping well meaning but ignorant fish owners from accidentally abusing their fish. Probably also add a base line in X size tank you can have Y small fish or Z larger fish. To the section signs.
@@JustARandomPerson-dr7uv My LFS is organised similarly by compatibility/general family. Platies next to mollies, tetras next to swordtails, ciclids by themselves because they are gigantic buttholes etc. Tank size guides would be a really awesome tool for new fish keepers to give them a better idea of what is actually required for Fishy to thrive instead of just grabbing the first, crappy, disgustingly undersized fish bowl they see that has a picture of the fish they want plastered onto it.
I think the aquarium art museum was to reflect the idea of the ancient Chinese bowl decor tradition that they would put goldfish in there for display for a limited time and then once there guest leave they put them back in the pond or tank
The inverted fishtanks in the museum are so people can't reach in and touch the fish. The gap between the inverted tank and the floor of the external tank is just enough to get an air hose in and suck out the air bubbles to raise the water level, and the outside tank is sized to contain all the water from the inside tank in case of a leak while leaving the water level high enough for the fish, without letting the fish actually get out where someone could pet or touch them. Good design. Shame that they ALSO use fishbowls.
0:20 Japan is a country of contrasts when it comes to fishkeeping. I have been watching many fishkeeping videos from Japan. On one side of the street you will find the most advanced products in the hobby, on the other side, you will find traditional shops selling goldfish in small porcelain vases. It's like they forget everything modern about the hobby when they look at goldfish. Even the goldfish exhibit at the Sumida Aquarium is boring compared to the other exhibits. At least they used big aquariums, but they were all barebotton. With the exception of two, one was cylindrical and very tall, I do not consider it suitable for goldfish. The other was circular and, in my opinion, has a very strong current, the fish were carried away by it. You can find the exhibition here on RUclips if you want.
I gotta say, when I submitted my first tank to you I thought it was great! And you roasted me because I had a clown pleco in a 10 gallon 😂 I learned from it though! I now have a 20 gallon and the clown pleco thrived in it for awhile before ich took everyone out. Switched it up with some kuhlis. But as much as the roasting hurt, I appreciated it! You helped me be a better fish keeper. Thanks chirs 😊
aw that's great! sry for the roast, nothing I say on these are personal or anything, usually it's to add more comedic effect by going a bit overboard. I don't remember what I said but I am glad you changed it up and seem to be enjoying your time in the hobby more too, keep it up!
I've actually been to the art aquarium in Ginza o: Each tank was surprisingly clean for goldfish in small cramped spaces, so I think that there must be a lot of staff that help make the tanks look as well as they do. Very cramped conditions for sure though, which was pretty disappointing to see such beautiful high quality fish treated like that.
QOTW: mini van (have had two, very useful) or smol wagon/SUV... with enough roof rack to put an 18' sea kayak on, and low enough to make it easy to get that vessel up there. Cause sometimes it's easier to go visit the fish in their native habitat.

So funny story you might appreciate the absurdity of. Yesterday at work I had a customer tell me while I was helping him check out (he was getting a large bag of dog food and a betta) that his planted tank didn’t need a heater since he keeps his tank in direct sunlight. I tried telling him that he needs a heater and how important that is and he kinda reiterated that he keeps his tank in the sun so it’s fine. I didn’t push too hard for him to get a heater (or not get the betta fish) like I usually would cause I felt like crap and was barely functioning. In addition, if I wanted to decline a sale I’d need a manager to back me up and the managers were all busy or not in the store at that time. I feel guilty for not declining his sale but he seemed like the kind of guy who’d turn aggressive if I told him I wouldn’t sell him the fish. I didn’t even fully process what had happened until over 8 hours later when I was about to go to bed and realised how weird/messed up that interaction was 😭 Qotw:I don’t really know, as I’m not too big into cars. For a while I really liked the Hennessy Venom F5 but I’ve found that Priuses are actually decent cars, esp for a college student. If I were to get another car, I’d definitely get a sportier looking Prius. Plus the mpg is pretty decent so I don’t have to get gas too often.
Juwel Rio 125 is around 125 litres. Juwel aquariums are so very pretty! I was supposed to get my Juwel Rio LED 240 in this morning, but the shipping company had packed the cabinet flatpack of 30 kg on top of the tank. You really don't wanna do that, especially when you need to drive it from some ware house in Germany to a town in The Netherlands! The glass can't take it and has no decent support in it's box! So it came out of the truck broken in a zillion pieces and the driver had to take everything back. I couldn't even just keep the cabinet because it's part of one order. I've just filed another complaint with the store since I haven't heard from them all day! I really hate it when people aren't paying attention to what they're doing and aren't thinking about the consequences! Because this shipping company just destroyed a beautiful aquarium by packing and handling it so badly!
What do you have against a banana taped to wall? They're trying their best to be special. I swear you people are so miserable, taking the route of being disappointed in a banana.
I'm suddenly hoping to get one of those little half-electric Ford Maverick pickup trucks after years of never having a car. Getting into the aquarium hobby is a major incentive. My town only sells bettas.
I'm a long time viewer of this channel but not a fish keeper. I'd really love to take a tentative step into the hobby and set up a shrimp tank. Could someone recommend a good tank set up (for an absolute beginner). A video that also explains testing water parameters, would be useful too. I have a large glass cookie jar i think would look great as a planted shrimp set up.
Amazing video as usual! My dream car when I get my driving license is any classic car. I would love to do a cheap restoration especially on a VW beetle or split screen campervan. Hopefully one day this will be possible. :)
The car i really wanted was a kia soul and i got one a couple of years ago and absolutely love it. It would be great if they made soul hybrids, then that would be my dream car.
12:10 2001 GMC Sierra, my grandfather owned that truck he bought it the day I was born and it was passed down to my father and me that truck was literally family hole personality and everything ( I'm not a car person but this truck was special) if I ever own a good car that's the lady I want ❤ I think grampa would b proud ❤
qotw: I actually have my realistic dream car! it's a small hatchback I bought when my big dog became a senior so it would be easier to get her in and out as well as giving her more space to lay down comfortably. I love my car so much, even after 6 years
Honestly how can there be a whole museum full of nothing but tiny empty vases with goldfish. We get enough of that on the internet. It'd be a lot more beautiful (and even educational, like a museum is kinda supposed to be?) if they were properly scaped and properly stocked, help show the world what fishkeeping is *meant* to be like And for those displays that are *actual* tanks, they could've easily outfitted with shoals nano fish or some inverts crawling around, creating a very nice display and one that's more appropriate, but nope, it *has* to be goldfish, never anything less. Also sorting by minimum required tank size is a *brilliant* idea that I wish more people would do, makes things so much easier for the people and for the fish
My favourite car isn’t technically a car but it’s a vw t2 van. Don’t know if I’ll ever own one so maybe a little bit more realistic but still quite unrealistic is a mini cooper
I'm the kind of person who shops for plant pots in the discount area of the aquarium section. Also a realistic dream car for me would be a mitsubishi eclipse. A unique looking car that isn't going to make me broke (i think)
QOTW: used to have a Jeep Wrangler in my 20s. Changed it up when my kids were young. Definitely want another now that they’re basically grown. From a Mom who doesn’t abuse fishes 😂😉
The one in odaiba is worse There was a dead fish, and they had micro sea water tanks with relatively fish to big for the tank. The whole "idea" is that it's supposed to show case decor with live animals, but in all honesty, it's not worth paying 2k yen entry to see objects piece with fish in them... Instead, go to Sumida Aquarium, and at the entrance you will be greeted with a huge fresh water tank that is much more beautifully scaped.
my dad had and little bro had a betta fish in a 5.5 and he just got moved in to a 10 gallon but I only had plastic plants but I'm getting live plants soon ill send in a picture for you too review soon and the car I want to have is a Chevy 409
I’m actually looking at buying my first car right now! Planning on a nice crossover car so I don’t have the price of an suv but I have more space than a sedan.
ooo very nice, crossovers are all the rage these days. dunno ur budget but dang have u seen the new honda hrv's, i thought it was a jaguar before realizing it was a honda. the design is sick!
more fish stores should arrange their fish by tank size requirements, life made easy. I bought my dream car 2 years ago; it is a Dodge Grand Caravan. It is my dream as I am a grandmother who takes grandkids places and loves to travel but can't afford motels and restaurants. This vehicle gives me the best of 2 worlds, seats for passengers and sleeping area for me when traveling without removing said seats.
It's not a mirror... the lighting and decor are different. And that gar? that's going to get well past a foot long - longer than the actual tank if it lives that long.
Qotw: my only hopes are "fuel efficient with big trunk" 🤣 I actually bought my first car this spring and it hits both, but it's also already cost me hundreds of euros in repairs and new tyres 🙈 I think 1960's-70's VW vans are super cute, so my dream car would be one of those, but with a modern engine to hit my "fuel efficient" goal 🥰
I currently drive a 2001 Land Rover Discovery and I LOVE it so much, but unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to trade it in for a smaller car. I'm a big outdoorsman so I love being able to drive anywhere and camp in my car, and it's really just the best looking car I've seen. However, it's a bit too expensive for me to drive, as it only gets around 12-15 mpg and it needs frequent and expensive repairs. I'm planning on getting a smaller but similar car, like a Honda CRV, Toyota Rav-4, or Subaru Forester, but my dream is to keep the Land Rover and just spend enough to fully restore and upgrade it, maybe even convert it to hybrid/electric, although I'd need like 100k for that.
Ngl, I'd like to get my hands on a $1.99 fish bowl or three. Good for storing/displaying smaller crystals lol. Also make cute succulent terrariums. I love fishbowls, just not for fish. Qotw- Toyota 4Runner.
As a plant parent this channel makes me want to try my hand at aquascaping. Are fishless tanks a thing? I want to try my hands at it but I don't want to unnecessarily make a living fish suffer in the process
So won the fair fish for my kid. Mom orders a 7 gal... Fish dies. I spend more on the extras and new fish than the tank. But anyway just did the first real 50% and its looking ok. Mollys . corys. Neon "tetras" . and a beautiful betta. 😊
My (realistic) dream car is a mk 2 MR2, a 60s beetle or a Yellow Toyota Celica tsport. My unrealistic dream cars are Ferarri F430, Testarossa or DeLorean 😅
My realistic dream car is my jetta I had to sell bc it started burning oil ;-; BUT I just got in an accident and my car is likely totaled (not at fault) so I'm hopeful that maybe I can find a similar jetta at a good price 🤙

I didn’t even fully process what had happened until over 8 hours later when I was about to go to bed and realised how weird/messed up that interaction was 😭
Qotw:I don’t really know, as I’m not too big into cars.
I've gone from 0 tanks ever to 3 tanks in the last 6 months and I am a person who's learning how much work they take.
😂 dude same. Just set up my fourth. First was set up in February
As always great FTR day. Just wished the videos were longer. When can we get 30 min clips pls~
Since a banana taped in a wall is considered "art", wont be suprised if this bowl trend is also considered art
What do you have against a banana taped to wall? They're trying their best to be special. I swear you people are so miserable, taking the route of being disappointed in a banana.
I disagree about the banana because art is subjective, but I draw the line at animal abuse.
@@WesACreation13they think the banana worth 20,000 usd 💀💀💀
@@anthonybarraquio9522the 20K usd price tag on the banana taped on a wall tho
As an artist and fish keeper, if this is art, it's absolutely disgusting
1949 Chevy step side 5 window it was my grandpa's truck and if I can find one I'd buy it and drive it everywhere
i love the look of the beetles!
mini cooper car is kinda cool, it is small, cute and looks cool and kinda vintage
The car i really wanted was a kia soul and i got one a couple of years ago and absolutely love it. It would be great if they made soul hybrids, then that would be my dream car.
This made me think of A Fish Out of Water the kids' picture book about a goldfish that keeps growing.
A realistic car I want is a 67 Chevy Impala and while black is is king, I'm going SEAFOAM with white wall tires and leather seats!
qotw: I actually have my realistic dream car! it's a small hatchback I bought when my big dog became a senior so it would be easier to get her in and out as well as giving her more space to lay down comfortably. I love my car so much, even after 6 years
Monday morning Ftr!! Amazin😊 yall have a great day.
Happy monday ftr!!! thanks for enjoying the content!
Honestly how can there be a whole museum full of nothing but tiny empty vases with goldfish. We get enough of that on the internet. It'd be a lot more beautiful (and even educational, like a museum is kinda supposed to be?) if they were properly scaped and properly stocked, help show the world what fishkeeping is *meant* to be like
And for those displays that are *actual* tanks, they could've easily outfitted with shoals nano fish or some inverts crawling around, creating a very nice display and one that's more appropriate, but nope, it *has* to be goldfish, never anything less.
Also sorting by minimum required tank size is a *brilliant* idea that I wish more people would do, makes things so much easier for the people and for the fish
HI MILLIE!!! We missed you!
My favourite car isn’t technically a car but it’s a vw t2 van. Don’t know if I’ll ever own one so maybe a little bit more realistic but still quite unrealistic is a mini cooper
1:23 bro imagine aliens did this to us, trippiest sci fi movie
Just wanted to let you know I never skip ads on your videos , Igotchubro
This is why I love Mondays ❤
The tiny yellow fish at 7:21 looks amazing... Hope it's natural. 🐠
It’s a glofish cory cat unfortunately
Shrimp and plant oasis, cheap 3 gallon with a nice light
Can't wait until 'fish' bowls are banned as housing for fish. Let's all just soft bully everyone until happens😂
Apparently the smallest gar species grows to 2 feet. Hope that helps.
The one in odaiba is worse
There was a dead fish, and they had micro sea water tanks with relatively fish to big for the tank.
11:08 naw, that isn't the bird, it's the Fairy Tail hand gesture.
11:05 leave it for a month and see what happens
more fish stores should arrange their fish by tank size requirements, life made easy.
Great show
My wildlife pond has a lil bit of duckweed in hit and I’m now on vacation so when I come back it’s probably full of it😭
It's not a mirror... the lighting and decor are different. And that gar? that's going to get well past a foot long - longer than the actual tank if it lives that long.
Fun Fact: Wang is the most common last name in the world.
(Learned it from that one RUclipsr that does polls and stuff)
Charles Peralo
@@tyronebell8205 yep that one
and chris is also a common name
so chris wang is a very common name hahaha
I've always dreamt of owning an original Model T and customizing it with a glass bottom.
QOTW: Mini Cooper, love square shaped cars so iconic and easily recognizable
Qotw: my only hopes are "fuel efficient with big trunk" 🤣 I actually bought my first car this spring and it hits both, but it's also already cost me hundreds of euros in repairs and new tyres 🙈
I think 1960's-70's VW vans are super cute, so my dream car would be one of those, but with a modern engine to hit my "fuel efficient" goal 🥰
QotW: Dream car is a Lotus Evija. Realistic dream car are a Honda Civic type R or a Tesla model S
I’d buy the bowl, imagine a pearl weed grow tank in that with like 3 cherry shrimp
I got feeder minnows 1 year ago from petsmart... 1 year later my first one died last week, of unknown causes
A parameters are perfect, and she just died 1 year after of keeping her, she was perfect 1 night, then the next morning she was dead
When fish father says "don't disappoint me" but your fish has a single plant because you're broke af :(
Ngl, I'd like to get my hands on a $1.99 fish bowl or three. Good for storing/displaying smaller crystals lol. Also make cute succulent terrariums. I love fishbowls, just not for fish.
Qotw- Toyota 4Runner.
aw yeah fr fr those would be great for storing stuff
As a plant parent this channel makes me want to try my hand at aquascaping. Are fishless tanks a thing? I want to try my hands at it but I don't want to unnecessarily make a living fish suffer in the process
So won the fair fish for my kid. Mom orders a 7 gal... Fish dies. I spend more on the extras and new fish than the tank. But anyway just did the first real 50% and its looking ok. Mollys . corys. Neon "tetras" . and a beautiful betta. 😊
Museums usually document things of historical, social or scientific relevance. This just documents the death of several goldfish.
My (realistic) dream car is a mk 2 MR2, a 60s beetle or a Yellow Toyota Celica tsport. My unrealistic dream cars are Ferarri F430, Testarossa or DeLorean 😅
POV:chris goes back in time to stop the creation of fish bowls but its a canon event
3 seconds in Chris and I’m already SHOCKED by millys feather
I would always wanna be driving a 2007 4 door VW Rabbit with a manual transmission.
QOTW: both are model I like, I would like to own one of those but I don't know when :
- Piaggio Ape
- AIXZAM D Truck 😂
My realistic dream car is my jetta I had to sell bc it started burning oil ;-;
BUT I just got in an accident and my car is likely totaled (not at fault) so I'm hopeful that maybe I can find a similar jetta at a good price 🤙
I've been driving my dream car since 2004 when I bought it. 2002 Pontiac Trans Am.
Very good entry 😂😂😂
9:21 omg that fish is just *muah!* Chefs kiss and the tank 10 out of ten ❤
Chirs making sure his ratings are accurate to two decimal places. QOTW answer: Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf.
A 1977 camaro with a split bumper conversion and a 454 big block chevy (maybe I'll have it finished within 20 years lmao)
