@@ExocagedRC oh trust I definitely see that. I just didn’t know really that folks took them so serious and that’s another reason why I never got into them. I am learning I missed out of some good trucks over the past 3 decades saying no to them
Yet another great video. Was much closer than I tought. If it where me: DSM that Ecto at the center of both axles to keep the CoG down on the steep inclined (You can really see the rear trailing arms unload on the descents). On the SV2, maybe some high clearance links - seems like the problem you had on The Hopper? Keep'em cummin!
I just bought an ECTO. Very able truck right out of the box! I did a couple free upgrades such a a shock positioning & trimming weight while adding weight in a few spots…. New Protek 370 BTL Steering servo, set of Brass steering Knuckles & a set of Beef Patties….. WOW
I go absolutely nuts watching all of your crawling videos Joe!! They're all great. You do such an incredible job of driving with one hand and filming with the other. Loving the progression of the Ecto. Thank you!
This why I love the old axial axles. U can adjust the front casters for more turning radius. Nevertheless always amazing content. Quick , simple and full of action. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
How much of a part do you think tyres played in the result (and different line choices) ? Would be interesting to see both wearing Trenchers or Hyraxes.
I feel about 5lbs is best for everything in the crawler world lighter can in many cases be better but my limit, depending on the vehicles purpose, is about 5lbs now.
Dang. As much as I love sv2 I almost have to give the win to ecto. Predator compound krawlers, dig, and the same weight bias the ecto will do more obstacles easier
@@ExocagedRC it would be a game changer for it for sure. I didn't originally like that trailing arm suspension but you can clearly see it works in this video
Well, SV2 is a parts bin special expert build and ECTO a run of the mill rig with the must do mods. SV2 is almost at peak performance, ECTO has some room for improvement. At this point is pretty neck a neck, although SV2 clearly has an advantage with DIG. Don't think the tires are to blame. Cliffhanger body might come in to play as it lowers the CG on SV2, but it might be a marginal difference. We could clearly see that ECTO has way more torque and that helped even up the head to head. Both are incredibly balanced and both are spectacular builds! Question is how far can you go on with improving ECTO...because,for me, and "knowing" your work, skills and tenacity...you are just scratching the surface! Bring it on man! Thank you for another great video. Cheers
I feel the same way. The Ecto has a larger motor in it too. The Ecto has way more potential than what I’ve got mine to. I really like it. I like the transmission but I’m considering the same trans and dig as I have in SV2 for it.
I upgraded the servo on it so that will be up soon. Tomorrow or Saturday. Not sure yet. But these G8’s are really seriously good on this truck. No kidding.
What a cool comparison!!!! I like both rigs, both are crazy capable. I would like to see you drive each on in a full EXO competition. Having one of your friends film so you can have full driver mode engaged(two hand driving). I think it would be cool. Have your friends set up the gates so you have no idea until you see it. Great vid EXO!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Seems to me the deciding factor is the DSM strap on SV2. The Ecto front end seems unload too easy. Would be neat to them both DSM equipped. Great Video! :)
I think a suspension limiter on the Ecto would of got it one more point on the one climb....which i learned about from you.....Im going to start calling you Ecto-Cage! LOL......no but really, Im buying the ecto rtr before i buy 2021 bronco orgen 8 axe or 10.3 because of your ecto videos.....Im building some g speed's at the moment so my rtr budget isnt existent.......By the way found a great video and found out how to work those beadlocks, they have four pieces! Now I just got to learn to vent the tire the rims dont let air out? How would you vent a set of canyon trails? I subscribed to dixie land rc also and am learning a bit from him as well, i got him off of one of your videos.....hes got a good channel.....I cant wait to start my own channel! THANKS!!!
Hmm. Well as odd as that sounds I have no idea on who would get that but the Capra dig can get it up at least one climb this one can’t but then again. Well heck I gotta do this one now. 😎
I honestly don't see why enduro (AE) doesn't make/include a dig in any of their rigs. Ive had a few AE crawlers, & liked them. (Aside from adding weight here & there). Personally, id give an additional $50 for a dig.
Different lines. Biased. Check where the front tires are on the first side test. Sv is on the corner apex of the concrete, and Ecto is tucked right in.
What a showdown. When I first started following you I saw no point in crawlers… now I can’t wait to build my first one!
Oh man of all my trucks I value my crawlers the most.

Nice Joe im really liking the eco going to pick one up asap
If you end up ordering one, use the links in the description to make the purchase.
Another great one 👍 the ecto is pretty impressive for what’s in it 💯
Great comparison.
I am sooooo impressed with the Ecto! Grabbed one for myself this week
Awesome
That ecto build of yours is sweet. Im rethinking the value of light weight.
Dig would change Ecto a lot.
@@ExocagedRC it would be a game changer for it for sure. I didn't originally like that trailing arm suspension but you can clearly see it works in this video
The g8 compound sticks so good because the lugs don't fold over onto themselves.
This is true.
Really nice video. I like the vs 👌🏻
I want a Ecto, would a Hobbywing Fusion be to heavy and big if I want to keep it light?
Thanks Joe awesome im really missing the crawling vids 👍
Yeah I switch it up from time to time. Variety is good I think.

Joe just put pen spring in the front shocks of the ecto and maybe the soft springs too and this ecto will be your best rig
I prefer the DSM bungees or rubber bands as I can tune that quickly and easily on the spot.
Great comparison. Ecto is impressive for as simple as it is.
The best crawler channel out there👍🏻👍🏻 Let’s see ecto with sv1’s tires vs sv2. Keep them vids coming
I upgraded the servo on it so that will be up soon. Tomorrow or Saturday. Not sure yet. But these G8’s are really seriously good on this truck. No kidding.
Nice comparison! Love both rigs.
I’d try that again but without a swaybar on the ecto and see if it helps. Maybe maybe not

my servo on axle build i did turned out killer! my buddys cant keep up no more haha
Awesome
Im super hyped for this match up!

Yeah I’ll do the DSM on it soon but it’s needs a servo now. I got a Holmes SHV800 in the bin…. LoL talk about overkill!! 🤣🤣
What is DSM? Newbe question
Element showing why to learn how to tune your shocks. Stiffer rear springs and thicker fluid would help the rear unloading the way it does
I did thicken the oil in the rear shocks to 45wt. The springs are fine for the weight of the chassis.
Definitely getting the ecto! Great video as usual..
Awesome chalenge
I love your vids, so fun, good job.
Thanks man
My new ecto black will be here tomorrow!!!

I’m going to mess around a bit with the DSM straps and see.
How about ecto vs. capra? Bro.
Hmm. Well as odd as that sounds I have no idea on who would get that but the Capra dig can get it up at least one climb this one can’t but then again. Well heck I gotta do this one now. 😎
Been thinking of getting an Ecto and trying my Futitek Tegu and a Revolver V2 380 2000KV. Do you think a 380 will be too small for a 4lb crawler ?
or would the Team Spec 540 be better, what $40 difference not an issue. going for a budget ultra light in my collection.
@@GrimJerr any of the snub nose revolvers would work well.
You should Do what you did with sv2 and go servo on axle on the ecto 😁
Is there a mount for that? I’d rather do that for sure.
@@ExocagedRC yes I believe a few companies make the mount for it
Can black mamba tires go on a 3s typhon or only the 6s?
If you get the 17mm hex adapters then sure. I’m assuming the Typhon 3S has 17mm hexes. I’ve never had a 3S version

Too, way back when i had a 50% AE ride when i raced. (20 years ago when dirt was 1st invented! 😜). Then tekno was invented! 👍
Ecto newby from the box. Sv2 . It's a super light
Super friend
Ecto kryptonite, is down hill and side hill.
Sv2 rocked .
#2
sad how much do you have into SV2 and element is holding its just shows element does it ✅ right.
sv2 looks like it has wider wheel base than the ecto
It’s very close to the same width.
👊🏽Mr Exo👊🏽
Tha Exo ec-toe is back just called them tha Exo twinz from different baby mama’s 🤣😂✊🏽👊🏽

Ecto got so many more clean lines. . .
Thers a new yellow in town and his name is ecto
#1 AGAIN! 👍😁
