For those with a Rise, you may want to keep your eye on the spindle screw/cap on the crank (if you have the stock e*Thirteen crank). They loosen up pretty quickly--it's a known issue that people are running into. Mine fell off completely on a downhill run (without me knowing it) and shortly into the climb after, my crank fell off. Mine will be covered by warranty (the part is cheap anyways so it doesn't really matter), but if you do lose it, the bike is sidelined until you can get your hands on a new one (and bikes shops don't typically have these ones on hand). Hi. Excellent review 👍. Im very interested in this bike but Im not sure about size? Im 179cm- 5.10 feet and Im currently on trance X M size .Can ask what size are you and what size bike did you take? Regards
You ever have a chance to ride a YT decoy before? I've just been comparing geometry online and it seems to be pretty damn similar from what I'm seeing even though the rise is supposed to be the light MTB (implies more of a trail bike and less of a big enduro/dh biased bike) yet the decoy is definitely known for being an enduro style ride. What do you think about this? I don't see the two bikes compared too often but they just seem so similar on paper
Some reviews saying it doesn't take successive big hits well, after all it's a 'trial' bike, I'm finding that too, gets unsettled (other than that its incredible) but then I saw this! so it's clearly just a case of setup...How are you running the HSC/rebound?
Do you think you can mullet this bike? I saw a video of someone running a 8.5x2.5 coil shock, 27.5 wheels out back and increasing travel to 160/160. Thoughts?
Do I order this bike online? Every shop around here in BC and probably Canada has no stock of anything right now. Huge shortage on bikes. How do I get one Geoff? Also, when you come out to West Kelowna will u be on that bike?
I mean just by judging from what we can see its worth the money, if you have that kind of money lying around and have nothing else to spend it on, but a dad of 3 and 2 are teenage girls, I would sooner save it and buy a machine.
@@GeoffGulevich after watching the Euros riding the Rise on forestry countryside trails I didn't think it would hold up to our NS trails. You're incredible skills really put it through its paces, we're now seriously thinking of investing. Great vid! Thx tons!
The question is do. Sell my 160/150 enduro bike and go for the top build in this. 150/140. Full XTR. Not sure I can have only an ebike in the stable. But 10-11K USD is tough to just get outright. Not all trails are ebike allowed yet either. How about your riding areas, are you seeing more ebike all access trails?
Question. What is all the loud noise coming from the bike on the downhill. Like a box full of small pieces. Is that from the motor in coasting mode? Or just some part on the bike?
This was all shot within the first 72h of receiving the preproduction model. Once I had all the kinks worked out, she had been quiet as a church mouse since
awesome! i see the lack of slackness in this bike didn't affect you much, lol. I see vids of folks making it 160/160 mullet and 64 HA, that would seem perfect!
That's awesome it descends well... more interested about how it climbs. Also, how long does the battery last? Is it easy to swap to carry an extra for extra long days? Is it worth the dough or not? Thanks.
No swapping batteries since it is internal, but they make a range extender you clip in to the bottle cage for long rides. I guess you could carry multiples of those for insanely long rides.
I am waiting for order confirmation of Rise M10. I am really stoked. Not cheap but worth the money. @Geoff are you using some volume spacers or tokens in rear shock? Are you happy with frame progression?
Great riding, just liked and subscribed. Are you in Vancouver? What is it like with no battery as far as just riding around at that weight? Do you think it would be much better with 160/150mm?
Thanks Patrick! Appreciate it. Very mountainous here in Vancouver. We’re always peddling or shuttling. Still a bit of resistance when the engine is off. I would recommend trying one out, to make sure you love it as much as I do

Thanks for the video Geoff. I just received my Rise M-Team a few weeks ago. I am in love with this bike. One thing I can not figure out is how to find out what is the total mileage I have put on the bike. I don't have a monitor and the ETube app doesn't have that option.
That’s a good point. Have you considered buying a bike computer for your handlebar
@@GeoffGulevich yes, but I don't know where to get one. Does your computer show total mileage?

Sick video man!
Thanks so much for watching dude!
Now I know...what my Rise can do😃😂
She can do it all!!!!
I just had a Rise delivered, been on a few trails. Your video allows me to be more confident and aggressive. Well done!
@@SmileBliss so stoked to hear that! Enjoy it!
F*cking nice trail man and nice riding 2!
Thank you!
Can you provide more info on how you insulated to reduce raffle? My M20 should be her this Monday. First MTB since I used to mountain bike a ton about 20 years ago.
Reduce rattle…
Yeah dude.
Just stuff it a bit w foam. Easy easy
Nice riding. What settings do you use in Profile 1 and Profile 2? I've just bought a Rise M20 and bewildered by the e-tube settings and what to set.
To be completely honest, I have been running the stock settings.
I find it delivers enough power and allows the batter to last super long
@@GeoffGulevich thanks for the update. Mine is used so I dont see the standard settings at all. The previous owner had all assist would right back to 1/8 or 2/8 with only the reaction (last setting) set to max for instant response. cheers
Amazing video!! I am between the Nox Helium with the Fazua and the Orbea Rise. Nice is with the Nox is you can remove even the battery and motor. Did you check the Nox as well by chance?
I did not. Just the Rise for me
Hello. Does anyone know the naome of that color? It looks so nice!!
Hi. Excellent review 👍. Im very interested in this bike but Im not sure about size? Im 179cm- 5.10 feet and Im currently on trance X M size .Can ask what size are you and what size bike did you take?
Regards
For sure. I’m 6 feet tall and I run a Large. I think a medium would probably do the job
Thanks a lot for letting me know👍
@@marcinjurek4018 no problem
You ever have a chance to ride a YT decoy before? I've just been comparing geometry online and it seems to be pretty damn similar from what I'm seeing even though the rise is supposed to be the light MTB (implies more of a trail bike and less of a big enduro/dh biased bike) yet the decoy is definitely known for being an enduro style ride. What do you think about this? I don't see the two bikes compared too often but they just seem so similar on paper
I have not tried a decoy. The weights are definitely different but that’s all I really know
Some reviews saying it doesn't take successive big hits well, after all it's a 'trial' bike, I'm finding that too, gets unsettled (other than that its incredible) but then I saw this! so it's clearly just a case of setup...How are you running the HSC/rebound?
Usually the case. Hahaha
I have no clue hahaha
@@GeoffGulevich lol, probably just have skills then, I’ve got to get me some of those
@@faraz2498 hahaha have fun out there!
Do you think you can mullet this bike? I saw a video of someone running a 8.5x2.5 coil shock, 27.5 wheels out back and increasing travel to 160/160. Thoughts?
That’s a good question.
I’d have to ask direct, opposed to just make up an answer for you
Do I order this bike online? Every shop around here in BC and probably Canada has no stock of anything right now. Huge shortage on bikes. How do I get one Geoff? Also, when you come out to West Kelowna will u be on that bike?
Try Bike Bling in California, USA. I think they are the biggest dealer in North America.
@@paulmaag6958 thanks man, I found them, but for 16k I think I would rather buy a skid steer for building lol. But such a sick bike.
I would order online
@@shanebraniff6198 just lunatic pricing. 🤪
I mean just by judging from what we can see its worth the money, if you have that kind of money lying around and have nothing else to spend it on, but a dad of 3 and 2 are teenage girls, I would sooner save it and buy a machine.
Awesome video man! 👌
Thanks for watching!!!
Still love it an year later?
You betcha!

Just back from a ride on mine!
Yessss!!! Was it the best?
@@GeoffGulevich it was the best ride of today! Enjoying the vid.
@@basqueMTB awesome! Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
Totally fair thought process. I love mine and they are allowed on 99% of trails here
Question. What is all the loud noise coming from the bike on the downhill. Like a box full of small pieces. Is that from the motor in coasting mode? Or just some part on the bike?
This was all shot within the first 72h of receiving the preproduction model.
Once I had all the kinks worked out, she had been quiet as a church mouse since
Great riding! Have a Levo SL on order and having buyers remorse.

@@GeoffGulevich very true unfortunately.
@@jaselikesbikes that’s so sad!
Was it able to hang with the full power Santa Cruz on the climbs? Great vid.
Probably not but on the downhill it can
awesome! i see the lack of slackness in this bike didn't affect you much, lol. I see vids of folks making it 160/160 mullet and 64 HA, that would seem perfect!
Sweet!!!
So goes just fine but definitely want to try 160 up front. Not a fan of the mullet
That's awesome it descends well... more interested about how it climbs. Also, how long does the battery last? Is it easy to swap to carry an extra for extra long days? Is it worth the dough or not? Thanks.
It’s wicked dude.
Battery just keeps going on this little rig.
Swapping batteries isn’t really an option.
Sick!!!! I have one token in the front. Nothing in the rear. Great progression throughout the stroke. These bikes are insane dude
@@GeoffGulevich And my Rise has arrived. Ready to shred. So far I am very impressed with agility and stability at the same time.
@@MichalM2012 I’m so stoked to hear that! Have fun out there!!!!
I would recommend trying one out, to make sure you love it as much as I do
Hi Geoff, what’s the frame size and yours? I‘m 68.5 and tending to use the M. Not sure though.
Hi joe
In 6 feet tall. I ride a Large
Hey, super nice and gnarly video!
How many km/miles did you do in total on one charge of the battery? How much climbing? Im super tempted by this bike but still struggling to know if the battery capacity is enough for what I am after.
Can you manage to keep the battery running longer if you turn off the assistance on the way downs and flat pedaling sections?
Haven’t actually done a full battery ride.
Lasts too long
@@GeoffGulevich I got the bike in the end and I'm very impressed. Easily manage to put on 45km with 1200D+ on one battery. And it feels like my regular enduro.
@@TheLineSeeker heck ya!!!!
Derek here (the dude you met in the Old Buck lot). I'm LOVING my Rise. I can't quite handle it like you Geoff (an understatement!) , but it has certainly helped me get out there more than I could have otherwise. And more time on the trails means more learning and progression (relative term!). Here's a vid I made showing what the Rise looks like under an intermediate rider on the Shore: ruclips.net/video/A_ClLuhucmY/видео.html
Hey Derek!
I’m so pleased to hear that! Thanks again, for taking the time to answer a few questions for me!
does the motor kick in on the higher gears ? with low cadence ?
@@MisterPikol yessir
My question is it worth 10k… compared to other ebike around 6-7k with more weight
Won’t regret it
Very Impressive, what was your suspension set up?
Thanks! Running fox 36 at 150mm up front and a fox float rear
its evident that you like the bike, but what other e-bikes have you tried, and how (if any) does it compare ?
I’ve tried everything from Focus bikes and the Altitude pp from Rocky Mountain.
The rise is much lighter and rides like a normal bike
The infamous EP8 rattle is a buzz kill
I redid my insulation after day 1 and made it much more silent
@@GeoffGulevich The rattle doesn't bug me much--I barely notice it. (ha, might just be that I just have to concentrate so much on the downs that I don't hear it). But I'm totally curious on what you did to reduce it on yours.
This bike has been a complete game-changer for me. I've only had one other "toy"--a magic surfboard--that has put this big of a smile on my face. Pre-surgery, I was riding an Evil Following. I'm running the same trails on the Rise (blues/low blacks on the shore) and am having just as much fun or more on the downs.
