Riding my @orbea Rise and showing you how and when to power up or down, to get the most out of your E-Bike on the North Shore.
The Rise is an outstanding machine, with it's @RideShimano EP8 RS motor. Smaller and lighter than all of it's competition, this bike and outclimb and out maneuver the rest of its field.

I'm seriously thinking about getting one, but does it really have any power? Can it get up and go pretty fast?
@@mesabman for sure. You can custom tune your power output through the shimano E-TUBE app
@@GeoffGulevich But I've heard that no app can take the EP8 RS back up to 85Nm. It's permanently stuck at 60Nm.

Sold. That bike looked like it handled that DH tech no problem. Already have another eMTB but need another for the old lady. This video just gave me an excuse. I heard that the EP8 rattles though. Do you hear anything like that coming from the bottom of the down tube?

I can't believe people worry about that rattle. If you even notice it going downhill, you need to ride faster

Geoff, How do you power up/down, on the fly? Especially as you approach a skinny? 😬
Great question. It’s just about getting comfortable with your power adjuster. I keep mine on the left side and am familiar with its position, so I can click it up or down, when needed
what model year and which exact model of the rise is it? has it 150mm travel on the fork? thanks
This was 2020 preproduction, frame only custom build 150mm fork
What are your thoughts on the aluminium variants? Around 20kg and larger battery on them (and of course cheaper)
