How to Install LED Interior Lights on Tacoma (2016-2022)

Today we'll be swapping out the stock Tacoma halogen bulbs with new and improved bright white LED bulbs. (2016-2021)
Installation is a breeze and makes your truck look great! The kit also includes 2 license plate lights, as well as a plastic pry tool to easily remove the light covers.

I'm glad you posted this. In another vid, the guy took out the entire unit to replace the map lights. I figured you only needed to pop out covers. Thanks!
Update: Just installed all new LED bulbs. Took about 10 minutes. Duct tape trick on map bulbs worked perfectly. Thanks again for a clear/concise video!

Forgot to mention you should remove the fuse before because you blow the fuse when doing vanity’s. Great idea for pulling out those map lights. So easy for something that could be so complicated if you didn’t know how to

Bought a kit off Amazon, and in the instructions that came with the kit the map lights are labeled as the plate lights and vice versa!? So when I got to it and installed and wasn’t working I found your vid as saw that you installed the “plates” looking lights as map lights and worked. So I did the same and bingo!! Thx for the video idk what the seller was thinking labeling crap the wrong way 🤦🏻♂️
Also, map lights was a struggle for my Twinkie fingers to get out!! Jeeez 😂

I like your seat colors. Do the front seats have seat covers on them? If so, are the seat covers Neoprene? and Do they come in one piece for the back and seat portion of the seat and one piece for the head rest?
The seats in this video were the stock black color
On the map lights I got the left one and the right one the whole light piece was loose or soemthing and it’s lost or up in the think what could I do

Quick question, how do the tag lights affect the back up camera at night. I’ve read others have said where it kind of blinds into the backup camera.
Sorry for the late reply. I've never experienced an issue like that before. I know the tag lights were the hardest ones to install due to little working room for your hands, but once installed, no issues to report.
Did you only change the tires on the truck or do a lift or leveling kit with new tires?
I didn’t do everything at once, but I installed the Spidertracks 1.25” spacers all around. It has SLIGHTLY larger tires than stock. And then at the end I did a 2” front 1” rear block lift..
Can you post the block lift installation?

I’m not sure if the cold has anything to do with it, but I could not get license plate lights. The plastic is harder to get to move, I don’t want to break anything. Any suggestions ?
It’s not you it’s the plastic brackets. Those were the hardest part to remove in my opinion. There was no way I could film that part as it was a bit of trial and error and swearing 🤬 lol

It’s a cool look for sure!
The tail lights: you're supposed to just turn about 1/8-turn counterclockwise to take it out; & to do the opposite, i.e. clockwise to re-secure it. It's not easy either since you don't have leverage with such a tight space.
The dome light didn’t go in right it turns and stuff like it’s loose why?
It's tricky to put it in. I tried about 50 times to get it in straight. i was getting aggravated....lol
is the led dome light bulb still kinda dim for anyone else?

From what I recall, once it was in place it simply came on.. it’s been a while since I made that particular video. Did you get yours working?

Make sure your map switch above the gear shifter is turned on. Took me 30 minutes to figure out why I couldn’t get power to my dome light 🤦🏽♂️@@HighlightOfficial
There is a much easier way to get the nap lights in and out. The whole assembly pops out and they are installed from the back
Dome light is harder than the plate light 🤣🤣🤣
FYI to 2017 owners: Dome light layout is very different; instructions not applicable
