Great advice, Rob. I never use the vanity mirrors, but my wife does - just as you described how your wife uses them. I never considered changing the rear, license plate lights, and I’m glad I watched this video - they will stay stock. Thanks!
Was thinking that the vanity led’s just might be too bright if I went that route and you confirmed it, but I never thought about the tag led’s causing an issue with the camera. You just saved me a little $ and trouble with this video because I will be replacing only the map and dome lights now. After all, I only needed to illuminate the cab better, not blind anyone in the process.
There's a mod for the reverse lights to turn off when you're in reverse. My son has it. Took 30 seconds to install. Made a huge difference to the reverse camera at night. He did it when he had the stock bulbs. He then changed out for the LED's and the reverse camera is even better at night. I agree with the vanity mirror lights but I did LED's everywhere else.
Good point about LEDs in the visor - never thought of that & have never heard anyone else point that out. I’ll have to remember that when I get mine! Good video, sir!
Well, I'm glad I watched this... I was considering changing everything inside. Now, I'm fine with how it is. Even the dome light. I do enjoy the LED headlights that's for sure!
Very timely video haha! I literally looked at a full interior kit from VLEDS this morning! I was thinking the vanity mirrors might be a bad idea too! You convinced me to not pull the trigger on that kit. BTW where did you get those tail lights?
I put the messo custom ones in they changed from white to red and there all one piece no clear plastic covers with mine there are multiple l.e.d.s but there set in a black surround so it cuts the glare without the plastic clear covers and there is now crome reflectors behind them so to me I get alot of light directed to the floor plus they can be. Switched to red at the press of a button and it's great on the eyes when your trying to read something they use this on submarines I even replaced my dome light in the back try them garentee you'll like them
I agree with you on the Rear as I am 1 of those cats that did it and immediately . However. I always reverse into my garage so yes blinded spot city. And as if the cheap resolution screen has the issue as well. But I usually have lights on while I am reversing and I Turn them all the way off to reverse. I remember my 16, 17, 18, and 19 all had a way better screen tin the past. These new decks I believe started in 2020 are literally garbage. But I hope people in back of me see the brighter lights as I am driving the dark highways here in Colorado. But I COMPLETELY AGREE with this segment Episode. Rob is completely correct on those 2 locations. Another Great episode. Keep it up Rob.. You da man..
I do have lots of LED lights on my access cab including the license plate lights, and I gotta say, you're absolutely spot on when it comes to backing up...otherwise they look amazing!
Th3 stock license plat3 lights are annoying enough as it is ive been trying to find some type of light assembly that has a cowl or something that will keep the light from shining into the backup cam
Rob. They make a thing don't know what it's called. But it blocks the plate light from the camera. Just a little cover. But they still shine on the plate.
You are 100 % correct on the vanity lights. Never changed the tag lights, but will keep that in mind. You do know your wife is going to see this video, right.
Okay guys, and girls, Ive driven trucks of all sizes over the road and offroad for over 42 years and let me say, the brighter your backup lights are the better, don,t use your back up camera at night, learn to use your mirrors, you know, those things on your doors.
Aloha and good 🌟 evening 🌚 🌙 Rob. Yes, it makes sense to me that LED lights 💡 does have it's limitations when using in certain areas. It is good to install the LED light 🔆 above or on the some, not on the sun ☀️ visor. This is a great video 📼 Rob.🤜🤛🔆💡🌙🌞👀🏡🌅📼🆗💥💼🐎👨🌚🐫😎🐕🐶😇🌟🤙👌🙌👍🎉✨👂🔅
Good tip on the vanity mirrors, I actually put the leds on the center dome light and the two map lights and was contemplating completing it with installation of the vanity mirrors, but now I don't think I need to. ANd on the license plate light , I'll keep it stock, I have a tinted plate cover too, I don't need the coppers or anyone else writing down my plate number in case I do something "questionable" 😉🤣🤣
I added LEDs to each vanity mirror. My wife loves them. The original bulbs were way too dim! Great topic!
Great advice, Rob. I never use the vanity mirrors, but my wife does - just as you described how your wife uses them. I never considered changing the rear, license plate lights, and I’m glad I watched this video - they will stay stock.
Thanks!
I put them everywhere I could. Not a problem. Can see just fine. Wife doesn't have a problem with vanity mirror.

Absolutely 👍

I have all led love it.
I converted my license plate lights with leds, haven’t had any issues yet and it’s been a year
Good you didnt say the map lights/dome light.. because I got the offroad and MY it is dark in the cabin without the 3 lights I installed.
Did the mirrors. That lasted until the firs time mom got in and looked. Needless to say, out they came.
Lol! I bet😎
Good point about LEDs in the visor - never thought of that & have never heard anyone else point that out. I’ll have to remember that when I get mine! Good video, sir!
Your 100% right rob! I lowered the screen brightness due to the license plate led light😅.
Lol😁
Where did you get your seat covers?
I’ve never had seat covers?
@@RobMotive My bad. It looked like you have leather seats but I thought leather seats only came with a sun roof and didn't seen one in your truck.
Nope…just cloth.
@@RobMotive Thank you. They look great!
Love your channel! I watch everyday
2021 Tacoma owner here 😀
Thanks! I appreciate that👍👍
Well, I'm glad I watched this... I was considering changing everything inside. Now, I'm fine with how it is. Even the dome light. I do enjoy the LED headlights that's for sure!
They definitely have their place👍
That’s subjective, I think they look great and don’t bother me at all imo
Very timely video haha! I literally looked at a full interior kit from VLEDS this morning! I was thinking the vanity mirrors might be a bad idea too! You convinced me to not pull the trigger on that kit.
BTW where did you get those tail lights?
Have a look: ruclips.net/video/XoKWxO2xdhU/видео.html
I got the LED bar on my rear license plate frame. It negates the glare from the license plate lamps.
Great video Rob and super informative!!
Thanks 👍
My Head light LED low beam has burnt out on both headlights, high beam still works. Do you have a suggested LED headlight?
Checkout Headlight Revolution.

Thanks for the heads up rob!!!👍👍
Rob, that was kinda funny about the boss complaining about the LEDs. I can totally picture it.
Yup😬
I do have lots of LED lights on my access cab including the license plate lights, and I gotta say, you're absolutely spot on when it comes to backing up...otherwise they look amazing!
Agree
Th3 stock license plat3 lights are annoying enough as it is ive been trying to find some type of light assembly that has a cowl or something that will keep the light from shining into the backup cam
Good advice, ironically they are the 2 hardest to change.
Rob. They make a thing don't know what it's called. But it blocks the plate light from the camera. Just a little cover. But they still shine on the plate.
Good tips !!
100% Correct.
I want to put green bulbs in the passenger vanity mirror for the wife to use to keep her humble
Lol! I say do it!
I have them for my license plate lights but I also rarely use the camera, I use my mirrors when backing up.
I have LED’s in my vanity mirrors and not a problem
no hair - no makeup so no issues 😀😂🤣
Oh man had me rolling about the mirror
😁
Personally I don't think any interior lights
should be changed to LED's, because they're to blinding at night.
Definitely not the vanity mirror lights in the visors!
You are 100 % correct on the vanity lights. Never changed the tag lights, but will keep that in mind. You do know your wife is going to see this video, right.
Lol! She doesn’t watch😬
@@RobMotive They don't do they, all that hard work and they won't watch. LOL
Lol!!😑

I'll let you know, I just ordered 2 LED license plate lights.
Hey Rob have you addressed LED headlights and issues yet?
Nope.🤔
Just get leds that aren’t as powerful 👍
I always held off on LED map lights on any of my cars for the same reason
The only place I’d prefer the old style👍
Mention this in the past videos on this topic and I still agree with you 👍🏻
The new grab handle ever arrive?
They did. However there was an issue. A video will be coming👍
Great video very true i agree
Thanks and thanks for watching 👍
I just bought the led kit 😢
You may like it👍

How you buy much money truck like that man?
Hard work.
Agree. Way too bright.

i put one in ashortredmy fuse
That’s a bummer!
@ yeah it’s pitch black out and I can’t find them. I’m trying to figure out which.
Just desolder a few of the LEDs on each of the bulbs. Problem solved
Or just stay with the OEM bulbs👍
