I like the fact that you took the time to go through step by step on installation. Been finding it hard to find other RUclipsrs who actually take the time to show these steps. I also have a Tacoma and thank you so much for how you did your video!
This video was a massive help and saved me an hour. If you have trouble with the rear taillights just use long needle nose pliers like I did to untwist the housing. Thanks man.
I was punching the air watching you ignore the off switch for the lights when replacing them but that’s just my ocd lmao! Great vid and the tape trick was really helpful
Hi Guys! I have a 2018 Tacoma off road. Instead of changing the map lights and trying to use the tape method, its WAY easier to use a pry tool and take the entire overhead console down. You can then unplug the one large white center console plug. You now have that entire console loose in your hand. Lay down a towel on your table, place the console face down, turn the map light bulb socket to unscrew it, take the old bulb out, put in your LED. Back to the truck....plug the big white plug back in, check your lights are working. If not turn them around and they will work. Simply snap the console back up. I was done with those evil little bulbs in under 10 minutes or less. Forget that tape method. FYI, there is also a setting on your map lights so if you walk up with your key fob close to the truck the lights automatically come on. MAN WAY FRIKKEN EASIER.
This was a massive help! Thank you for making this video! The plate lights were a PITA! But once I got one figured out the other one was easy. Thanks again!!
Great job. Only one I did differently was the map lights. I took the whole console down from the ceiling. Scary but it comes right off. Pull from cabin side first, then windshield side. You can get your fingers in so grip isn’t an issue. So easy to twist the lights off from the back side. Took 5 minutes. The license plate lights were really fun! Not!
Thank you for the tutorial!!! I was going to get that set but I had already done my license-plate lights 😭 so I got a different kit but same install methods apply. Stay safe thanks again!
I have the same kit and thought I'd follow your video and install one set at a time. Started with vanity mirrors in sun visors. Did it exactly how you said and onlly one of the four would light up. 2021 Toyota Tacoma
LOVE them, however 2 didn't light, so i will see what Amazon can do. ALSO... the dome light above the back seats, those pointed ends just spin in the holes. there's nothing securing them. As i put the cover back on, the bulb spun upside down. As it's only lite on one side of the bulb. Any recommendatios?
Weird, no issues from mine yet. The dome light I ended up pinching the two ends to get a tighter grip on the bulb. I’d send your set back for a replacement via Amazon.
Good instructional video. I was wondering if the battery needed to be disconnected...nope. Did the LED plate lights wash out the backup camera or cause any decrease in viewing that you didnt like? That is my biggest concern. Thanks
The bulb set costs $9, the original bulbs regardless of cost, this should be how all modern cars come as. Why anyone would use incandescent light in cars anymore blows my mind. Huge qualify of life improvement for minimal cost and effortm
WARNING: If your hands are any larger than a 9 year old's, forget about the license plate ones. I don't know what kind of Hobbits are installing those lights.
So the tape trick didnt work, BUT I just popped out the whole piece. The side closer to the windshield popped out first, then just twist out the black plastic housing for the bulbs.
Hey boss….instead of the tape….that whole fixture comes down easy just by pulling it….theres knobs in the back, that hold the bulb….twist knob out and put new bulb in
The fuse on mine blew too. I installed the first ok. Put on the second one, turn on the light to check it and nothing came on along with all the interior lights.
Here's the problem with all of these "Tacoma Interior bulb installs" You never mention the size bulbs required for the project. It would only take an extra few seconds. Instead watchers of these videos will have to go to the user manual and look them up. If I have to do that I'll just continue and read the manual for install instructions..
I like the fact that you took the time to go through step by step on installation. Been finding it hard to find other RUclipsrs who actually take the time to show these steps. I also have a Tacoma and thank you so much for how you did your video!
Thanks for sharing. The tape trick to remove the map bulbs prevented me from checking into a mental facility, lol. Cheers
Thank the very
Ooo
Literally same
I used a small needle nose, my tape wasn't grabbing.
+1
This video was a massive help and saved me an hour. If you have trouble with the rear taillights just use long needle nose pliers like I did to untwist the housing. Thanks man.
Thank you very much ! Mission accomplished without breaking a tab lol !
I was punching the air watching you ignore the off switch for the lights when replacing them but that’s just my ocd lmao! Great vid and the tape trick was really helpful
Little zap never hurt anyone 🤣

Thanks for sharing. I partially blinded myself when changing the dome light. Quick tip, MAKE SURE the light is off when installing
The duct tape on the two front lights was genius. I'd have never thought of that, and it worked great.
Thank you. Bought this kit the other day, and did not know how to get the light covers off. I appreciate your tutorial! And what a deal this kit is!
Tape trick saved me.
Appreciate the help brother.
Nice tutorial! I did notice that the map and license plate lights are different if you look closely.
Thank you so much for the detailed step by step man. I agree these lights look so good !! So worth !
Using tape to get the lights out: genius :)
THANKS FOR THE TAPE TRICK👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks man, made my life easier
Great video man. I order a kit off ebay, and had no idea where any of it went. Popped most of them in before work.
Thank you for all the help everything became much easier following your steps
For the license plate lights, did you reach from under the truck?
I doubt it but i saw the license plate off, and just wanna be sure
Thank you
Reach under
Thanks for sharing this video. I was trying to figure out how I was gonna get the map lamps out. The tape was a great idea!
Big help man! Thanks for making this video!
Great video! Those last two are a pain the butt but for those of us with big hands! 🤬
Exact set I just bought. Thank you man
Thanks for sharing this perfect video. Couldn't have made the upgrade without you. And how you got that dome light in with one hand is beyond me.
Thank you for the tutorial!!! I was going to get that set but I had already done my license-plate lights 😭 so I got a different kit but same install methods apply. Stay safe thanks again!
Was there any rewiring needed to switch to l.e.d. ?
Nope
Thanks for the instructions, going to order my upgrade now..
Thanks! I have an SR lol so no light mirrors :( lol but the package brought the set. I'll probably get some visors soon enough 😊
Just watched your video. Use the tape trick for the map lights. Worked like a charm 👍
I got to the second bulb in vanity and blew a fuse smh
Me too!
Much appreciated. Getting mine after seeing this video. 👍
The dome light bulb seems a bit larger in size than the original one. So it doesn't fit !!!! Wasted time and money!! Any ideas?
nice just got my set ready to install after this video
Awesome video! Thanks for the tips and how to!!
Excellent tutorial. Thank You!
I cannot get the map lights out. The tape did not work for me. Any other ideas?
Great video, and the tape worked perfect. I would have broke the bulbs taken them out.
Perfecto! 💪💪muchas gracias! Me ahorraste mucho tiempo!😅
Dude, nice. Thanks so much!!!
Great job! Helped me out tremendously thank you so much
what did you press on 9:45 to turn it on? i installed everything else already im just having trouble on this one in particular
Thanks for the video. I just ordered this light kit. Out of curiosity how have these lights been holding up?
Excellent so far, no issues
I have the same kit and thought I'd follow your video and install one set at a time. Started with vanity mirrors in sun visors. Did it exactly how you said and onlly one of the four would light up. 2021 Toyota Tacoma
Great commentary 👍🏻
Excellent job on the video. 👍

Same issue! How’d you fix it? I got a replacement and it still spins!
Good instructional video. I was wondering if the battery needed to be disconnected...nope. Did the LED plate lights wash out the backup camera or cause any decrease in viewing that you didnt like? That is my biggest concern. Thanks
Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
Changing the license plate bulbs was tough.
Just got my bulbs in a kit. We’ll explained. Here I go.
Little lost on the back lights? How do you access them it doesn’t show on the video 😅
It’s in there. You go under the rear bumper.
great tutorial video👍. do you have one for the headlights and fog lights. what bulbs do you recommend 🤔
That tape trick is amazing. Like for sure! The 11 dislikes are losers, this video was great.

I don't know what kind of Hobbits are installing those lights.
This dude fit 2 hands up in there??? How in the hockey sticks?
So what happens if you get the map light wrong you have to put duct tape to take it out and ruin the new bulb?
tf did you fit two hands in the rear bumper
I wish I watched this before attempting to figure it out on my own first… I would have fewer snapped off plastic attachment clips floating around
Thought this was going to be easy…only visor lamps can be done one handed.cast comes off in 4 weeks.
Great to the point video!
So the tape trick didnt work, BUT I just popped out the whole piece. The side closer to the windshield popped out first, then just twist out the black plastic housing for the bulbs.
Great video! Thanks
Thank you ....great help
Does dimming work? Or does the LED just turn off?
Dimming works
@@GearKnowHow super, Thanks
Where’s the link??

Thanks for the awesome video! Made replacing those light bulbs 10x easier on my new Tacoma 👍🏼
Good vid
Thank you so much for your video, it made my install super easy.
Hey boss….instead of the tape….that whole fixture comes down easy just by pulling it….theres knobs in the back, that hold the bulb….twist knob out and put new bulb in
Just did this the license plate lights were definitely a pain 😅😂
Do you happen to have the phone number for autogine? I did moon get the correct dome light bulb.
On my way to get a second roll of tape 😫
my fuse blew as soon as the mirror light was removed😅
Weird, no issues here yet
The fuse on mine blew too. I installed the first ok. Put on the second one, turn on the light to check it and nothing came on along with all the interior lights.
Thank you
Thanks!!
THE STOCK BULBS ARE NOT HALOGENS....THEY ARE INCANDESCENT.
👍
my eyes hurt after this install and theres a blue spot in the middle of eyes
"Stick your tool in"
My dome stopped working after I inserted the new light. Nothing in it works now: they blamed me for it.
Just pop the map console off...
Those license plate lights are a b*tvhhh
👍👏😁🇵🇷
That was a waste of 20 minutes. One vanity light down, no bulbs for second one and dome light bulb was wrong size. Won’t buy them again.

Link to the kit you need is in the description and comes with everything you need with correct bulb sizes.
