"Natively" because windows has no Linux kernel so it emulates at least a Linux kernel only on Linux could it be Native but still is it running via lxc which is a lightweight emulator for operating systems
@@f1aki That's not necessary, you just have to change your location inside Windows Settings and select "United States", then you can follow Novaspirit's video (I did that, and you don't even need to reboot your pc, you just have to close and reopen the Microsoft Store after changing your location)
WSL2 seems to cause issues with VMWare Workstation for me, so I've been hesitant to mess with WSA on my system. Been subbed, but oddly enough I've recently been looking into getting ChromeOS or Android on my system somehow, then you release this vid! Love the content and keep up the great work!

as long as windows 11 requires a microsoft account to use it, i won't be installing it. if you know of any way to use the newest windows 11 and get around the need for internet connected accounts, i'd love to see that video.
Is that really a thing now? I hadn't encountered a win os you can't just create a local account on. (Although, there was the one you had to disconnect from internet during setup to get it to work). Even in earlier versions of win 11 you could. They def hid it and tried to persuade you to login with an msa, but I thought there was a skip option, or maybe you had to say you were planning to domain join during setup or something? This was on Pro. Maybe I should DL the latest .iso and spin up a VM and look for myself?
Just came from work where I setup my iPad to control my Raspberry Pi in a way I don't think anyone's ever done before - and somehow that was less complicated than this supposedly official Microshit feature

It literally just runs as a virtual machine on Hyper-V hypervisor. Not even close to native.

same in my case mentioned that earlier, so I run a seperate Windows install in a VMware VM :p

If I remember in a lot app ToS, if you try to emulate app outside whats was not mean to be run on. There is a chance for a ban.
that's true so gotta becareful what you run. i would mostly use this for apps that are utilies like go pro or my dvr monitors

I have been running android for over 10 years when I was running Windows 7. I was running Chrome!
downloaded the amazon store and ran it but when i search for windows subsystem its not coming up
you can open the files app from the subsystem settings then you see the word files then you should be able to see your files.
That graphics is "smooth"? You have to be kidding me. It was EXTREMELY jittery, dropping to like 2fps at times.
Can you do a similar video with google play services? not all the apps works
