The HDMI-CEC is a game-changer for me, so it can be controlled by a native tv-remote, and be used as a media-center. Just saw you scrolled pretty fast over that part :-) love your videos btw.
For those that don't have Gparted, you can get a live iso version and run it on an extra usb, or if you know how to you can probably use a virtual machine to do it
Thanks for the guide! Helped me get set-up. Sadly the game I was setting it up for, Octopath Traveler, doesn't seem to work but I'm sure I'll figure out some other fun things to do with it.
Great video tutorial. Unfortunately the HDMI sound is not working all the time, if I start YT it works for the first clip, the next one isn’t working. Wifi is for some reasons also not connecting (which isn’t a major problem for me as I can connect via Ethernet as well). Any ideas? Fyi, I’m using a RPi4/8GB with all Firmware updates, also the wifi chip is updated….
This is really good material. Thank you for your work. Would you be so kind and could you demonstrate, whether webcam microphone works under Google Meet (Lineage OS 20 Android 13)? If a person calls someone from Google Meet on Android 13 / Lineage OS (Raspberry Pi 4), it is not possible to hear that person. I tried different Lineage releases, various webcams, various communication tools (Google Meet, Google Duo, Zoom, WhatsApp, ...). Always getting the same problem. Interesting is, that it is possible to record audio messages using webcam microphone on this setup. It looks like many people have problem like this, so It would help many. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the content. Did any of you add Netflix to your favorites? Because it is unsupported in the Google store. It's always annoying to start the app below
Like others said this does not work. everything did work till I got to the part where you said restart android. Now it's just stuck on a rainbow colored screen loop. Waste of my time doing all of it.
Could it be possible to install aosp dialer and messages as well as connect a 3g/4g compatible with the pi to make it an android phone. Id assume there would be drivers needed of some sort
Gracias!
i use guitartapp Chord pro on my Tablet performing playing music live for weddings and birthdays.. guitar tapp pro is an android app . i want to set this up on my PI to project words from my tablet on to a tv via bluetooth. The PI screen faces the audience and they can sing the words which are sync'd with my tablet. when you have this app installed on two devices you can sync the software between the devices.. wish me luck.
Quick Question: Can I write apps using android studio or may be let's say react native and run it on RPI? If possible do some quick tutorial on that too.
I found a workaround. I was using a Mac mouse which works but the arrow is invisible so you can't see where you are clicking. I plugged in a tablet and the mouse arrow appeared so I can now use either.
I am getting an error one when trying to install litegapps from source forge. I tried other versions of gapps with the same error. anyone know what's going on?

Has anyone that's running Android 13 on the Pi have any issues trying to pair Xbox One controller? Because I sure as hell am. Every time I go into the Bluetooth settings and put the controller into pairing mode, i will see the controller in the list, and then click on it, it acts like its pairing and then all of a sudden and dialogue box appears for a split second and everything vanishes in the detected Bluetooth device list
Has anyone had any luck connecting an Xbox controller? When I put the controller into pairing mode it will see the controller, but when I click on pair, it goes to connect but then fails with a little error message "has stopped working"
After installing gapps and then wipe, that "1st start" keeps loading but nothing happens, I tried 3 times from scratch always end up in the same part. I am doing something wrong? any suggestions?
Hi, I followed your video and got it to work but one question that I have is I have an app that I would love to install (that’s also why I am doing this) but it says „This App won’t work on your Device“. Maybe you can help me?
I downloaded the zip file and imaged it using Raspi imager (custom OS) . Only 1 partition on the SD card is FAT32 and it will not boot. Just stuck in an infinite loop of commands. I have tried this by using both windows PC and Raspi Os. Any help would be much appreciated.
I used the gapps zip listed in this video. Everything went great. But when opening Play Store, I get the error "This version of the app isn't compatible with your device. To fix this problem, got to Settings and uninstall updated to Google Play Store app." Any ideas? Running the OS in the video.
Hi! I loved the video but i'm having 2 issues the 1st one is that it won't instantly recognize my screen as touchable so i can only use it with my mouse. the second problem is that once i activate the touchscreen option in the settings and restart it just never boot again! Does anyone has a solution or can help me in some way? I will apreciate it, thank you so much!
I installed gapps and playstore is on the menu now. But i can't get it to be register. I've located my device id an used that for registration. But still it's not working? Any solution? Also screen saver (clock) isn't working. Any one else?
How long does it normally take to boot up for the first time? Maybe I've messed something up but it's been several minutes stuck on a screen that just says "android". I'm using a 128GB microSD card though. I might try a smaller one.
Make sure you did not boot into it before expanding the partition. If you did, erase & format the sd card, rewrite the image, expand the storage partition, then put into your pi and boot it up.

that Hyperpixel display uses a driver script that sets a custom 800x480 & disables HDMI, so it depends on if this android 'depends on hdmi' being active

yes cec is awesome, i used to have it on my rpi2 with kodi
I don't why but I tested all the images in the official site but my rpi4 doesn't boot correctly, stucks on an infinite loob and it never loads.

you're a great teacher, love the simplicity, with details! subbed!
Yeah, Android desktop is a little limited. No, it won't be my daily driver. Still it's impressive for a product Google doesn't really focus on.

I would be interested in seeing how well the Pi 4 performs with the Android TV version running.
Android TV is closed source?
I made an ATV box with a pi 4 before, but the performance was really bad. Hope it will improve now!

I'm so glad it comes without Google apps by default. I will never put the play store on my android pi.
Help all good but on my raspberry pi I don't have audio? How do I activate the audio?
Hi, thanks for the content. Did any of you add Netflix to your favorites? Because it is unsupported in the Google store. It's always annoying to start the app below

Like others said this does not work. everything did work till I got to the part where you said restart android. Now it's just stuck on a rainbow colored screen loop. Waste of my time doing all of it.
I finished the rest of your video while I waited for that first time boot.
