They should have stuck to their guns and stayed on WIndows 10 like they said they would, and just improve that. Theres no reason none of 11s extra stuff could be in 10. Its just software.
I may not be ETA but I could give you a good idea. Android x86 performance will be the absolute best, but requires you to have an intel or AMD GPU. Sadly there are no drivers for NVIDIA GPUs, thus meaning it won't work. Meanwhile, emulators may get quite close, I was able to get 120 FPS on apex legends at high settings, and the extra features allowed for making things like keybinds or fine tuning emulation settings. the android subsystem, however, is just a generalized emulator, and should be expected to have similar performance to an android emulator without any configuration done.
This is very cool feature in Windows 11. Though it requires 16GB ram because 8GB is almost occupied when using a Browser and Android app. Sadly my laptop is only have 2x4GB ram and i can't upgrade it because i don't know where to swap or sell this ram.

Also, it isn't really that wild that Windows runs these applications because it uses virtualisation, which means you don't get native performance on them.

idk if youre still having this issue but I noticed that if its your first time doing this, the pop up to allow usb debugging appears behind the install screen so just move it over and accept usb debugging

This person shows the apps running with a phone ratio image but it also show the games being played FULL SCREEN. I want to be able to use graphics programs full screen. Anyone know about this? It will help me decide if I want to go to the trouble of prepping my PC for Android apps and downloading them or just forgetting about the whole idea. I DO NOT want apps if they don't run FULL SCREEN because it offers little to no advantage over running them on my relatively tiny phone. Thanks for your help, crew!

Same thing happened to me. In the Developer section in Windows Subsystem for Andriod there is a right facing chevron to the right of the radio button. When you click on the chevron a second developer option comes up. Turn the second one on as well and now the Install button should work.
Do they run better than they do on Chrome OS? I have tried Chrome OS so many times to so many disappointments. The best one I had was Samsung's first offering with the ARM chip, those run android apps well. Then I tried really expensive, should have gotten a real laptop versions like the Chrome Slate, or the 4K OLED Samsung one, so they had high end Intel chips and enough ram, yet all the X86 ones sucked at running the Android Apps I needed or wanted, the note taking apps and drawing apps.
There is a not intuitive metod to install it with Google play store, it's harder but it's worth it to do since anything you want it will be in Google play store

I do have a normal Amazon account but for delivery purchases, but that’s besides my concerns. 1: I just want to know if I were to go as far as installing Windows Subsystem for Android, would I be able to possibly just browse Google Play’s store, log in Google account, and grab the apps from there? Will the apps even install/give me the OK to install Windows (or Android subsystem, whichever) or will I have to tell it which device? (still have anAndroid phone registered as to why) Reason I ask is I have Android games I’ve played somewhat so clearly they require a Google Play account, which leads to my next ? 2: How are micro-transactions handled? Example, assuming I didn’t pick/run game from/on Amazon AppStore, as if it were running on a normal Android device, is it going to allow me to make/complete the hame pop-up Micro-transactions as if via/from Google Play? All this I ask is because I’d love to have the storage space of Windows, granted that’s hardly much coming from a tablet, but I can’t see running Android apps that require Amazon AppStore if it barely has apps, set aside that I grab my Android apps from Google Play. Any info would greatly be appreciated.

This is due to regioning laws rather than a restriction then place on us unfortunately

Amazon Appstore is not available in some region so you will have to change your Windows Region to US for it to show up in the search.

Maybe Android x86 under Qemu? Windows needs virtualisation to run these, so it basically uses a virtual machine to do that.
