I always play Sigma or Zenyatta, and since I first heard that interaction, I always liked the idea that Sigma isn't actually confused about what Zenyatta means, but that Sigma's ability to view reality and concepts on a higher level than the rest of us has allowed him to actually conceptualize the Iris himself, if not fully enlighten himself like Zenyatta has.

I also really love that Ramattra also has the same response when someone else asks the question of what he did before the crisis. Blizzard really are building the coolest lore and personalities and doing nothing with them
@@amicosayshi865I suppose the PVE missions are the story actually moving forwards. We know, for example, that Sojourn and Ramattra are going to be two of the most important characters in the PVE story, which I think is really good; it gives Sojourn more development and makes her more interesting (hopefully), and we get more of a focus on Ramattra who is by far one of the most interesting characters the team have ever made. And with focus on Ramattra will inevitably come focus on Zenyatta.

@@GaryGluttonEB i think sigma and zenyatta have both experienced a form of enlightenment, except with zen its a positive kind and sigma its negative. if the iris is a genuine comsic force or law or a deity of some kind sigma might have experienced it and actually knows what zen is talking about instead of just a weird response from a delusional man.
Sigma is the only one to make Zen pause before he finishes his sentence. He almost sounded concerned
Both the Iris and the Horizen are singularities. One is simply conceptual while the other physical. They may even be the same thing.

One of the most savage lines I've heard Zen speak was "you will be missed, but not by me" when he eliminates someone.

The Iris is both a being and a concept. The first Omnic to become sentient found peace through meditation and died to ascend into a form now known as the 'Iris'. It's widely believed this is what gave all other Omnics sentience as the Iris contacted them all to awaken from their robotic minds.
It's why the monks of Nepal are constantly meditating, to achieve a level of tranquillity the same as the first one to ascend.

The Iris is likely a Singularity at a frequency of dimension material life can't experience, through orthodox means.
So, either be an Omnic who happens to meditate on the lessons of this Frequency until you match it to achieve "metaphysical" powers...
Or go insane and catch a glimpse of the answer after meddling with the stuff that binds the seams of the universe.
Sigma seems to be the only one here to catch Zenyatta off guard with that statement about meeting the Iris.
This either means that Zenyatta thinks he is telling the truth, or he thinks Sigma is that batshit insane to think he met the Iris and is simply ending the conversation there.
I mean, Zenyatta says it himself...he embraces the unknown.

I like to imagine if Zen asked Sigma to elaborate on the Iris, Sigma would just go off rapidly explaining these extremely deep concepts about how physical reality is merely a fabrication of the cosmic consciousness, how all incarnations of consciousness are actually one entity observing itself from different points of view, and how the Iris is not just inside us all but IS us all.
Then Sigma would be like “Oh look, an another ant. How delightful!” while Zen hovered there speechless.

this is gonna sound cringe cuz its from a video game but as a zen main and hearing his dialogues all the time, zenyattas whole character and all his quotes and advice in game has really inspired me to be a better and more calm person. hes just so wholesome and chill i fkin love this character

I get why you immediately prepared for those people who might’ve come and tell you with carelessness ”cringe” but it isn’t it is just them after having a rough day so they literally go and spread negativity carelessly in an attempt to relieve themselves which I have to be honest with you I’m one of those people but it rarely works so that’s why after having a rough day I either drink cold water to put out the fire (anger) in me or I just punch the punching bag until I feel tired and go for a short nap but surprisingly I had kinda a rough day today but I’m not that mad I’m just really annoyed but not that much to spread negativity or do any of that shit. I’ll try to avoid doing these negative stuff but despite all of that there always will be people who can understand other people for something that they have

As a fellow Zen main, I totally relate to this lol. He is always calm and collected in the face of peril, and my scatterbrained self can only dream of having such patience.
@@localsouthside4033 Actually one of the methods to learn patience by in our world is to pasture animals any animal but sheep is specially very good to graze and learn patience while pasturing them you have to pasture them for at least 1-5 years depending on how hard you work on them (and or any animal you might be grazing for that matter) and how much care you give them so yeah definitely learning patience is not in my list of impossible things in life such as being a god escaping death immortality and so on with over 200 things in my list of impossible things to do or to have in real life but again learning patience is *NOT* impossible it is just really hard and needs incredible commitment and dedication so yeah there ya have it.
I actually agree with this completely. I recently took lessons to learn some life skills I had been lacking, but when I started, I had a lot of trouble and didn't think I'd be able to because I didn't know what I was doing. But then I was playing Overwatch one night and when I got an elimination Zenyatta said "Do not be discouraged. Everyone begins in ignorance." It motivated me because I realized that what he said was true, and now I've graduated those lessons and feel like my life is a lot more in line with what I want it to be.
I love how he has a bit more personality now, the one about dreams with Zarya was my favourite

they hit different after reading stone by stone
There is some crazy implications there about the Iris.
Apparently Omnics can go through an "Awakening" because of it that grants them powers, Sigma apparently knows what or who it is, which surprises even Zenyatta. Zenyatta even mentions that this Awakening seems to erase most memories of your past life.
There's also graffiti in the new maps about the Iris and even one that says "Mondatta lives!!" implying that he might've somehow survived Widowmaker's assassination attempt.
I think it's probably more a "Mondatta lives on in our hearts" kind of message.

It's possible! Who can say for sure until more story comes out. Mondatta was a machine. Surely some parts of his mind could be salvaged and plugged into something else.
I like to think that Zenyatta's job prior to the Crisis is actually part of a comedy duo, like a ventriloquist.

@@pinoyboi Unless I've missed an important line of dialogue, he still definitely wasn't. It sounds to me like he was just messing with Reinhardt and Genji, so we don't have a canonical backstory for him yet.
There is a voiceline in-game (I don't know the requirements) where Zen will think aloud about the fact that while he remembers pieces of his life before the awakening, they are faint and blurry.
I like the implication that Zen is canonically stronger than Genji

Usually the master is always stronger, Hollywood kind twisted up the concept. And in game, equally good players as Zen and Genji, Zen has the slight edge if the aim is on point, 3 shots and Genji is gone

I know it's a bit late, but canonically Zenyatta is about 20 years old, so he is even younger than his student. That just shows how much quicker omnics gather wisdom and knowledge compared to humans
I think the iris might be one of the master AIs that escaped the crisis, but unlike the other ones who wanted to wipe out mankind, the iris is more benevolent, wanting instead to coexist with humanity

I like to think of Zen as an actual deity in a vulnerable body, who simply decides to not show his true power until the time is right.
He's so mysterious, the fact that we know very little of his backstory and origins makes him even a greater character.
Some people are complaining that we aren't getting more of Zen's lore. But I say... Maybe it should stay that way? Maybe Zen should remain that mysterious silhouette who appears out of nowhere to aid and then leave into the shadows without a word...

Apparently her voice actress was a little tough to hold on to especially when she was recently in Marvel and doing other projects
So her voicelines were not ready for beta..basically everyone in the beta except for Symm got new voicelines
