I admire people that can have a good discussion even though they don't completely agree on the details.

It's good to know that you're open to new information. That's refreshing. Most of what we believe is based on theories, hopefully those theories will be proven. Some sites just keep beating the same old drum, possibly because of pride, or possibly because their books are still on Amazon.

1998 was the best years of my life.i win five EFBB bodybuilding competition and end up in California the year .drug free natural bodybuilder i could not afford supplements i just eat my food .i discovered so much about food, but what people don't take about body type , and tell people the body make hormones like growth..hormones an testosterone and so on when you are young but as you age your hormones gose down hill .I took up weight training in 1978 it is 16.08.2022 I still go to the gym and I still train real hard you be shock what I I discovered about weight training you be shock .I don't eat carbohydrates much now i eat more protein food i am age 58 i eat red meat beef lamb chicken Turkey salmon cod sardines trout eggs egg white and I will eat as much as I I want till I am full I don't worry about how many gram of protein to eat , for example I will eat a hole chicken in one meal and I can eat five to six chicken a day . I will tell people don't eat carbohydrate the stuff will make you fat overnight I have done my own research on my self you be shock .stop eating corbs eat more protein foods .big sceret the body type can tell you who can eat lots of carbohydrate and what training the suit who I find out my self I did my own research and you be shock .in the fitness world and bodybuilding world the have made a big mistake , there is better way to look good yes I I still have my muscles and I am twice as strong now .drug free , I am a smart guy I never did any drugs from I took up weight training .because I new the body make hormones and I never train a lot one to two workout a week if the , but a real weight training workout one week is enough , I wait till I recover before I do the next one and if it take six days to recover from the last workout the so be it.if you train a body part train it real hard give everything you got do hold your self back less talking in the gym and control your breathing yes people use you mind .and make shour you train heavy too if you want size. If you in a business of building muscle you will need protein foods and the a fact .you see I was a black man raise on a form in Jamaica in the deep country side and I love the clean air the human body needs oxygen and some gym as now idea they are polluted , I would say build a oxygen room In a gym too you will understand why, don't you just love science it is very scientific .

Can you link some of the studies showing deleterious effects from consuming over 250 g a day? I’d really like to read those.

Newsflash there are essential amino acids, in any case branched chain aminos are only good if you are in a state of extreme caloric restriction otherwise just use a good whey protein Isolate such as Dymatize most good wheys contain 5 grams of BCAA's in addition to the rest of essesntial and non essential aminos

Branched-Chain Amino Acids blah blah. Just to keep it simple, every person is different, there is no "one for all life style" . Just follow a Mediterranean diet, millions of people over the centuries lived long healthy lives that way.....The same counts for Vegetarians all over the world.
Just don't worry about branched-chain Amino Acids....ha ha ha

      no. No civilizations were vegetarians.
In the old days, Vegetarian was a loose translation of "poor hunter".

If only it was that simple.
There are groups of people who are perfectly adapted (and healthy) to what they eat.
      Inuit: almost only fatty fish.
Masaï: e.g. fresh goat milk, blood (?)
