    The weather stripping is KEY!! I had my machine ran it the 1st time without the strips to see if the lint filter issue was fixed by GE since I purchased my machine in 2024...NOPE LINT EVERYWHERE!! I put on the weather strips...issue pretty much solved except for the tiny pieces that still escape so I cant wait to see the results of the merv filter....😊 thank you for posting

      @@OzarkLivin I can definitely tell you Ive done 17 loads since it was installed on March 9th...just cleaned the blue Microban ring..Holy Moly this thing LOVES to collect lint! I used a wipe to get the lint and it seems like the lint hides really well in the crevices!! None the less its a high maintenance machine but I love it ❤️❤️

    The Blue Filter material does not look like its a True MERV 8. The material we source has a Tactile (sort of sticky) coating on the blue side. There are a lot on knockoffs on Amazon that are just colored material and not a True MERV rating, however with that being said, almost anything is better than the stock filter!

    Also, not sure if I mentioned it, Use the sprayer with HOT water to Clean the Blue Gasket. Just shove the nozzle in it and work your way around slow, it will remove ALL Lint up in it. Start from the Drain holes and go slow, it will be brought back to Factory New!

    At this price customers have to finish the construction !! 😓😓 GE engineers should thank you to show them how to do a good work 😅

    We’ve had ours for a couple months and no major issues with lint like with your having! I have to ask though you are aware the black foam filter attaches to gray plastic screen(which keeps it in place) Because if foam filter is just floating around instead of being properly in place that could cause your lint problem.Watching you modify lint filter is scary because if it doesn’t work or even if it does work you just voided the warranty I do wish you success though.

      Yeah mine was installed correctly the problem was lint going Over and under the filter housing that's why I did the filter mod with the weather stripping been working excellent. Thanks commenting! Glad yours is working good.

      Yeah you will have the issue we all do. There is room for lint to get around the sides and it'll eventually cover your condenser and you'll see longer and longer dry times and your heat pump will die much sooner. This is a major fail from GE they should be fixing.

    I'd really like to know why all the heat is being directed at the GE Profile specifically, when its competitors' filter designs aren't any better (and in the case of Samsung Bespoke specifically, I'd argue it's worse).

    • @lionintu
      @lionintu 7 месяцев назад +2

      Who's review showed that Samsung Bespoke was worse? I heard the opposite, that it was the best of the three via several reviews. Please refer me to your source.

    Thank you for this video. I just installed your kit with both the three weatherstrip pieces and the blue/white filter media. I'd give myself a 10 out of 10 on the DIY scale, but it was unsure at first exactly how to proceed. I'm glad I found this video (posted just in time for me 🙂). I suggest you provide a link to this video in your kit. This video does not demonstrate the clear plastic washers, but I found them handy. Their use might not be clear to everyone. Also, the kit came with the black screen material, but it is not apparent to me if it is intended to replace part of the factory filter media body. I would appreciate a video update showing this.
    As the instructions mention, the new weatherstrip results in much more friction when inserting the filter body back into the combo. I think this is probably shows that weatherstrip pieces are well-sized to seal.

      Glad you like the Video! I'm not the guy that sells the kit, I'm a DIYer just trying to help out. Let me know if i can help.

      Thank you for your purchase. We will post an updated video, we appreciate your feedback. We had to ramp up pretty quickly to get the product out. You should have received a photo of the completed assembly in the kit. We will get an updated video out soon, or we may hire OzarkLivin to make one for us :) He went all in and did a tremendous job in getting his machine to operate better than Factory new. Its a shame GE is not resolving this issue quick enough.

    I think I’m about done with this thing. I have modified the filter but I think the heat pump condenser is just too full of lint and I have tried to rinse it out but I’m still getting run cycles of 3 hours. I’m so disappointed in this machine, I had high hopes, such a waste of money.

      Can you elaborate more on your use?
      What cycle are you using? What settings are selected? More Water, More Dry, Extra High spin etc. By choosing extra options or unnecessary options, this will affect cycle time. The GE is way superior over the LG or Samsung with drying times. So many variables go into the time. How did you clean the coil? Do you still have buildup on the coil? How much lint drained out when you cleaned the coil? Did you also flush the left side of the Filter Box? Do you clean the filter after every wash or do you wait for the machine to notify you....
      Did you purchase a Kit or Flushing wand from us? If so, give us a call and we will try to help you out further.
