Mate, can i ask you a totally unrelated question.. yesterday my bike was working just fine and today when i put in the key, and change to on, nothing changes, no front/back lights, not even neutral light appears, same as of it was still off.. what can it be, and im apsolutely sure its not battery and everythig is connected, so something died but what can it be? Maybe a fuse?
I've watched it several times from different angles. It looks easier but it's not if you don't know what you are doing. it's amazing what we can view these days and learn.
Majin, my guess is that it could be your main ignition fuse in your fusebox or your battery is low/drained... have you installed anything recently that might be draining power from your bike? GPS tracker that you haven't properly tested? A 12V to 5V USB power adaptor that is always on? I've had similar things happen to me before and it was a fuse... it could be your battery though, if you have a multimeter, measure the voltage, it should be between 12V and 14V if it's holding a proper charge
+MajinDabora3 Yeah could be a fuse / relay. Try to find a wiring diagram for your bike and a multimeter - those are mad useful in times like these. ~RF9
Fortnine I absolutely love this video. The fact that the video is interactive allows me to see a perspective of not only the rider but also the motorcycle and the position on the course. I will gladly support patreon please make more interactive videos :-)
Been watching for years and watched this video when it first came out. Finally turned 16 and am heading to do my test in a couple days. Thanks for the tips
You guys are really making some great videos. Very well informed (from my perspective), excellently made and entertaining! But apart from that, you cover topics I didn't think I could possibly find interesting and then you absolutely crush it. Nice job guys.
When I clicked on it I thought this video would be silly and I'd get nothing from it but instead I found it very useful to be able to choose what I want to look at while it happens! For example I was able to closely watch "Bryan" using the clutch and brake lever.
Just went thru this test in Seattle a few weeks ago. Not a noob, but didn't re-up my m/c endorsement from years ago, so had to start from scratch again. At 62. Previously licensed at 23. 26 year layoff. Took the test w/ a 80cc SCOOTER (all auto)....because I knew there was no way in hell I'd pass it on my other ride....a '87 BMW K-75. And I didn't practice it prior; went in cold. I'd already put about 1000mi. on the scooter, in a metro setting, so figured I either know it or don't deserve to be out there. The difficulty I had was confined to two things: the rapid instructions from the instructors (ie. poor) and the poor paint markings/conflicting paint marks, etc. on the "course". And hey guys, "cones" that look more like pie tins than ROAD CONES increases the difficulty too. I only had one other guy in my class- so he lead the way for all phases, making it much easier for me to follow and learn from. Passed= 100% He was on a much larger/newer BMW adventure bike, his first ride (WTF?)...and barely passed. Me: I use the scooter exclusively in-city, and the larger ride for outside the city due to it's weight, range, and speed....which are tough to tame in congested urban environments.
This looks a lot like what we have in Norway for MC licence. This is part 2 of 3 of the licence. Before the practical test, a theoretical exam. Then; Part 1: Know how to find any errors or malfunctions on a motorcycle. Part 2: Pretty much this. plus an emergency avoidance maneuver. (at 50 km/h) Part 3: A 45 min ride in traffic with an instructor to evaluate your driving skills on the road.
Interesting seeing the similarities and differences between this type of test in various countries - just did mine in the UK this week. Weirdest thing is that they ask you to treat it like it's a public road the whole time, so any time you move off etc. they expect the full set observations. Bit daft if you ask me as the test is clearly done in a controlled area, and at this stage they're assessing your control and manoeuvres!
@@outsidesquirrel4695 Hahahaha I slept through my alarm on the second day and had to retake it the following week. I have my endorsement now! Been riding since. :)

In Florida USA we have to spend 4 days practicing all the moves we have to do on the final and on the last fifth day we have to spend all day on the testing . About 12 or 15 maneuvers total . During practice - each time an instructor would demonstrate the moves a couple of times so we could figure out what needed to be done . It wasn't simple enough to just tell us - we had to see it done first . We practiced enough so that only one person, out of ten, failed because they dropped the bike . One crucial move is traveling in a straight line at about 25 MPH and wait for the instructor to wave us either left or right and we would have to do emergency swerve in that direction . I am over 60 years old and have been riding since I was 10 - so nothing in the test was new to me . However, I did find it very comprehensive and sufficiently difficult to help prepare new riders with the physical aspects . The mental training is a different story though . I was not impressed with the lack of instructions for reading the road and reacting to changing situations while riding . I think that is at least 45 percent of being safe .
Serious question, is this the entire test? No emergency braking? No swerving? No high speed turns? Kinda scary how lax a lot of these tests seem in NA (... And no, I don't mean to sound like an asshole).
Nah, there's a theory test and a road test as well. But yes - BC has one of the easiest motorcycle exams out there. Oddly enough it differs just within Canada... in my opinion the Quebec test teaches two or three times more than the BC one. ~RF9
I am about to take Quebec's test, we practiced it a couple of times in my Moto class and it's nothing like this test. I'm actually glad I got to learn moto driving skills in Québec !
@@FortNine so, despite having the easiest test, our examiner from Dawson Creek (who's moved to Prince George now) had a 70% failing rate. He really didn't want any of us to ride I guess.. Not only that. But bc has ridiculous learning laws. Your learners license expires after a year. Our riding season is 5 months. Booking into your skills test is extremely difficult, all of northern BC has been fully booked for months already. They really make it as hard as possible just to get tested in the time they provide... Time for some changes I think.
Hey guys - thanks for this! Really interesting footage and love the interactive 360 camera. Out of interest, what camera do you use for this? Thanks again - big fan of your content!
Interesting to see how others test and would certainly have enjoyed that background rather than the glorified car park we had in Blighty. Speeds are a little quicker in the UK 32 mph rather than the 25 mph shown but I noticed you didn't always do a shoulder check when setting off which would be a failure with our examiners.
It takes you 6 months or so to get your licence in Germany. A lot of theory, a lot of driving lessons, a written test and a test on the road (90 minutes). If you make one mistake, you fail the test and have to try again another time.
Damn, as a German who has to do 30-40 driving hours with an instructor (on public roads) plus 20 something theory hours, plus a written test plus a final 1 hour drive with a gouverment person checking my skills, all in all costing about 1500€, I am qute envious of you Canadians and such an easy test
that is really cool. i wish i could read the gauge more clearly to see what speed you're taking the slalom at. but i think this sort of video can be very helpfull to see hand movement, head movement and handling
hey FortNine, could I request a video? Unless it's already been done in that case my bad! My girlfriend is looking at doing her motorcycle license but is taking a big interest in the larger bigger bikes as her first choice after getting her licence. Is there a video explaining why somebody with no previous bike experience should choose a smaller bike as their starter as she wont listen to me :(
Take a look around youtube there are a quite a few videos on that topic. And if that helps I dropped the bike I learned on a BMW f 700 gs while pushing it down a sidewalk and felt rather powerless because whe it went to one side it was just not possible to hold it and I weigh 220 pounds, so I would absolutley side with you. It's not just that it is less dangerous but It is more pleasent to start with a light bike and the BMW isn't even really heavy. If I imagine I would have started on something really heavy it would have been annoying and frustrating.
Holy *****, since when is this possible? Just clicked on it on my tablet and took me a little time to realise I can move the view. Not from canada and I got already my licence, but I can imagine for beginners the video is a huge help.
It's been possible for years, though it's only recently that 360 degree cameras have started to become affordable. Much like the VR headsets that inspire the 360 video to begin with, really.
I wish these types of videos were more common. I've been moving place recently and a couple of places had this kind of video. It was awesome. I didn't get either of them.
Interesting to see different countries and their tests. In Netherlands you first have to proof you can handle a motorcycle, 3mph crawl of about 150ft, precision/emergency braking, pretty aggressive evasive manouvre at 30mph, figure 8 at 7mph, tight turns, fast 20mph slalom with counterbalancing, slow slalom etc. etc. then you do another exam (35min) driving in traffic. Getting the license takes multiple weeks
It's just a Ballance test, first step to have a simple motorcycle driving licence. To obtain a full licence you will need to do a more complicated test :)
Awesome! I've always wondered what would be on a Skills test, and in my province, so this is perfect! Also that "alright~" at 4:30 was distinctly Cartman-esque, 10 points
Oh weird that B.C does the test in a parking lot. In Alberta its on the streets w/ things you need to do as per the tester, like stop on a hill then go again, high speed merge, etc.
In Australia you're required to do an eye and theory test before they give you your permit to learn, you need to log 50 hours (if you don't have a driver's license(In WA)) of shadowed ride time then you sit your practical which is a 30 minute road ride which includes figure O's x4 at walking pace on a narrow street and an emergency stop without locking up from 50 km/h. If you pass you are pernitted to ride a motorcycle up to 660cc or a certain power to weight. After waiting 12 months you can repeat your practical assessment on a larger bike to obtain your open license. It's interesting to see how different countries approach licensing.
50 hours of shadowed ride time with an "approved supervisor" is an absolutely unreasonable cost (higher than flying!) that must surely be intended to stop people from riding. It's completely different to having a car passenger because cars are ubiquitous and Motorcycles are rare - many of us are surrounded by drivers but don't even know another rider. I would have had to pay for every hour. Also i'm bemused that they allow a pillion to be your supervisor, considering other states don't even let you have a Pillion until after your Ps because that increases the risk and difficulty :p
Four minutes in and I discovered that I can move the camera... Ok.... Btw : would you put the cam on the right side so that we can se the clutch lever? I personally would find that interesting.
This is completely unrelated to the content of the video specifically, but I wish there was some acceleration to the mouse viewing, so that you could look a full turn, or even two, just mousing within the window. I was click-and-drag-ing like crazy to keep up with what you were doing and where the instructor was pointing. A choice of 1:1, 2:1 and 4:1 would do a world of difference to this style or video, IMHO.
Italy here, the test it's basically this plus a drive on the road with the examinator sitting in a car behind you, with a radio. We have 4 licenses for bikes, one you get at 14 for bikes up to 50cc, one for 125cc you get at 16, one for bikes with all engines but up to 35Kw you get at 18 and one for every bike you can get at 24 or 2 years after the third one. pretty messed up but it's comfy you can drive at 14 basically
Wow that's a really easy test. In Spain you have similar maneuvers but you only have a chance of doing them and you don't pause between exercises. Plus, you just can reach with the foot ONCE in your test, do it twice and you failed. Have my test in a couple months, wish me luck!
Was interesting to see. Only thing that would stress me is messing up the instructions. In Switzerland conditions are different wither you want to drive a 125cc or higher and if you already have a drivers license.
Ive been riding since 2004 and have never had a motorcycle license or endorsement in 3 states. I am not sure of the legality in my current state, Tennessee, but in Alabama, you didn't need an endorsement - but they were trying to make it mandatory (and I got pulled twice on my bike too!)
Yes, you need an M endorsement in Tennessee. With your riding experience, you could take the 1 day Basic Rider 2 MSF class and that would serve as your testing. Then you just take the certificate to the driver's license office to get your endorsement added to your license for a small fee.
No box? Or is it just not shown? That darn box seems to be the newbie-killer! I almost didn't make that one, didn't put my foot down but went over the line a bit.
Man, getting a bike licence in the states and Canada seems way to easy. Have a look at what's involved in the UK. It's crazy to think that all you have to do is a few slow speed manoeuvres and an e stop. What about road riding? Is there a theory test? How do people know the rules of the road?
Hi, love your videos BTW. I’ve got my UK test coming up soon in Scotland (module 1 sept 11 then module 2 sept 20) Excited/crapping self 🤨 My question is about the Yamaha ZSR 700 you’re riding, will you be doing a review of that as it’s the bike I hope to buy after I pass my test. Cheers dude.
Yeah, here in BC there's a multiple choice exam (before this MST) and a road test (afterwards). Plus mandatory wait times in between, which can be minimized if you already have a driver's license. I've done the test in a few provinces just for shits and giggles... every one is a bit different. ~RF9
Thanks! Here In Germany you pay around 1500€, which includes a theoretical and a practical test as well as at least 16 hours of practical driving lessons (day, night, city, countryside, highway without speed limit)
Golden Waffle The multiple choice covers things like road signs, proper lane positioning, safe distance to follow, pedestrians, the odd one on body position during a turn or something. Most of it was rules of the road with some specific motorcycle things tossed. With a 30 minute review of the book, at least in Ontario, the test was super easy. I think something like 30 questions. I got one wrong. During the MFS class and test, I almost failed because a pylon jumped in front of me and I had to swerve to miss it. Or how they put it on the test sheet, I took my left turn too wide and almost clipped the the pylon. Had I touched it, automatic failure.
I think a lot, if not most watching this vid think that this is your full license test in BC. It is not, and in fact just the second test ( (the first is a written) in the learners which allows you to ride on the road to practice and with certain restrictions. Quebec has been mentioned in comments I see, I had a friend who grew up in Quebec in the 70's and when he tested for his car license they asked him if he also rode a motorcycle...he said yes ...ok...if you pay $1.00 more you will get a motorcycle endorsement as well. Times have changed. I would be surprised however to find that BC has the easiest motorcycle licensing in Canada.
Not our usual shtick, but we had this footage from the last video and figured it might be useful to some. ~RF9

Gotta say I love being able to choose my view!
The camera is cool, which one is it?
Wow that's a really easy test. In Spain you have similar maneuvers but you only have a chance of doing them and you don't pause between exercises. Plus, you just can reach with the foot ONCE in your test, do it twice and you failed. Have my test in a couple months, wish me luck!
The Canadian bike test is so easy compared to the english one, this is not even enough to get your learners permit in the UK.
First 360 video I have seen. I think my brain just popped.
Cool video with the virtual reality.
I don't understand a thing. Too busy moving the camera.
its becuase it a vr
Which school was this with? Cool that they’re doing it up at Cypress.
What a fantastic idea.
What a nice fellow (and an easy test). In my country, the examinator is your enemy
This is sooo cool!
I think this 360 is awesome
I was standing and fell over when you did the quick stop
Cool, what kind of camera?
Ryan, that watch is beautiful! What is it?
Then you just take the certificate to the driver's license office to get your endorsement added to your license for a small fee.

this was so cool
Nice watch you got there Ryan ;)
How do people know the rules of the road?
man, this is easy, you should check out motorcycle test from Japan and singapore. Pain in the ass to pass
in Tx its a mark off for covering front brake -
When I took mine he said: Turn on the bike, so I did. He said great! You pass , its Miller time.... things were much tougher then :)
I thought there was something wrong with my internet speed
Any chance you could do a nice and meaningful vid for the Honda NC X series :D ?
License test - Ryaned!!!!
Cool VR vid
Hi, love your videos BTW. I’ve got my UK test coming up soon in Scotland (module 1 sept 11 then module 2 sept 20) Excited/crapping self 🤨
My question is about the Yamaha ZSR 700 you’re riding, will you be doing a review of that as it’s the bike I hope to buy after I pass my test.
Cheers dude.
Do they test for wheeleys?
Do more videos of reviewing bikes
Is that everything? Do't you have driving lessons and a test on the road? And do you have o bring your own motorcycle??
Yeah, here in BC there's a multiple choice exam (before this MST) and a road test (afterwards). Plus mandatory wait times in between, which can be minimized if you already have a driver's license. I've done the test in a few provinces just for shits and giggles... every one is a bit different. ~RF9
FortNine What does the multiple choice test cover?
What kind of bike are you on?
