    In my case the crash was happening at the beginning of taking the medication, after about 3 month I increased the medication and now I don't have the crush any longer, but for some people increased dose can create a stronger crush every one has a different journey. Definitely I agreed with the doctor' s suggestions guys, before being diagnosed I was already doing all these things in particular meditation and healthy eating and I was feeling already so much better and in control.
    If I can add a suggestion is: if you can, find a job that you like that give you purpose, and an healthy social environment, ADHD people are extremely sensitive and be able to express yourself and perhaps help others is an incredible medicine. Often is our society that make us suffer the most, create your own little happy world. Best wishes to you all!

    Interestingly, I have hardly any crashes. What's really troubling me is the lack of appetite. When I force myself to eat something, I notice that I immediately feel better and have more energy. But eating without an appetite is really hard.

      I take Vyvanse whenever my friend offers me some; usually he gives me about five. The first time that I took it. I had only eaten breakfast, and I went the whole day without eating until the next morning, when I woke up. I still didn’t have an appetite, but I knew that I had to eat something. I just recommend eating something healthy and feeling well before you take Vyvanse because you’re going to lose your appetite no matter

      I’m so happy I’m not a psychopath for just wanting a half hour to listen to loud music and not talk to anyone. Particularly the people closest to me. I know I’m going to be rude and i lack self control like this. It annoys me that I’m allowing myself to be so rude to people snapping. So I just ask that people leave me for a bit. I try go away from everyone so I’ll go to the gym if I can’t get peace. I realise now as I’m reading all these comments why. Because in those instances I Really do Not want to go to the gym. I just want not to talk or think if that was somehow possible.
      If I’m totally honest the reason I’m here now is the music I’ve been listening to. Guy around my age… seems to have had a lot of medical issues. Much more severe than i, only compatible because of their similarities the scale isn’t remotely close, he has suffered a great deal of trauma. I should consider myself lucky i guess.
      In his music he really says some things that sound like the. Hmm. Hard to say. Just the way only my mind would say it, because it’s not natural for us to speak in the same way. Hard to put into words but it got my attention. Now… I’m just watching videos about the reasons and medication.
      Daunting as this is career suicide.
      Meh. I think I’ll just stay as the “quirky” annoying guy instead of taking speed pills that at some point my dr will cut off and make me feel terrible… I’m sure I heard something about these meds going for crazy prices because people think they make them smarter.

    Ive been taking Vyvanse for about 12 months now, but took a 10 month break due to forgetting to take it and trying to avoid these Vyvanse crashes. I know it wasn't the right thing to do, and I should've spoken to the Pediatrician about it, but I'm taking 30mg a day now and have been for about 1-2 months. I'll eat, take my meds later... Nothing seems to be working. I'm close to not taking it at all because the crash in the middle of my work day is more detrimental to having more productivity in the mornings 😭

      The only tip i might have, because i am still exploring myself: i put the lisdex in a big water bottle and drink the bottle empty over 1 to sometimes even 4 hours (to see what the effect has on my crash that i have in the middle of my dose) it seems to flatten that crash for me.
      Also: there is such a thing as natural tiredness rythms. Andrew huberman seems to be talking about that in his podcasts, maybe something to think about doing a sleep / meditation or non sleep deep rest protocol at the time you get a crash for about 20 minutes to give your brain some time to reset

    • @rossdobson1545
      @rossdobson1545 2 месяца назад

      How is your sleep? 8 hours and consistent? Are you drinking enough water with sodium? are you eating enough healthy high protein and fat diets? have you had your levels tested for any issues like low iron or vitamins?
      One option would be to take the meds later in the day. If you take them at 7 am and crash at 2pm youre getting about 8 hours. Try taking it at 10 or 11 am.
      Generally most people crash around 1-2 pm regardless of meds. People then drink a coffee and this disrupts their sleep pattern and reduces deep sleep. No coffee after 11am if your bed time is 10pm.

  • @MeganVictoriaKearns

    The dosage can depend on your height and weight, IMO. (*Not a doctor. 🚫👩‍⚕️ Vyvanse patient, 💊🙋‍♀️ 2010-2023) I began age 28. 5'2, 96 lbs. Started at 30mg. And I was teeny-tiny! So the 30mg, then a couple months later, dosage up, then down, back up, blah, blah, settled at 40mg. Up to 120-125lbs by age 34-35 (it happens... we get old...) and with the weight gain, I've got a fabulous psych NP and she allowed me to test a higher dosage and I've been at 50mg since.
    I've lived with moderate ADHD since middle school, in retrospect, but not diagnosed until age 20. Because I knew EVERY. DAMN. THING. IN. LIFE. when I was 20... 😉😇 ...the short version is, I was inconsistent about taking meds and making psych a appts a regular priority. I was given Strattera by that doctor anyway, and it is not noticeable in any significant way. Not to me, at least. I assumed all ADHD meds available for a medical professional to prescribe were similar and, knowing everything, I saw no need to investigate whether or not my assumption was correct or incorrect. At 26-27ish, realizing (to my utter horror, at least initially, lol 😆) that I, in fact, knew basically nothing about anything, it was then I revisited alternative ADHD management options that were different than my original experience at trying to get it under some control.
    Very happy today, super young with a mere 41 years on Earth so far, 🌎 that I went back and tried a different approach medicinally. (Strattera is considered a stimulant, but not a controlled substance since there's no amphetamine component. It's a totally different brain thing.) It works great for some people. Hey, maybe you're my opposite and for you, Vyvanse is shit and you need to try Strattera! 😮

      Just to provide a counter point: I do great on Vyvanse, but my time on Strattera was a constant state of feeling numb to the world. It was a somewhat comfortable feeling, but my relationships suffered as a result of not really caring about other people.
      Different strokes for different folks! I'm happy it works for you, friend 😊

      0:20 surely you can just add a little to a drink bottle that you carry on you all day no?
      Like if you know how much you need dosage wise then (I’m not a dr or on this medication I’m just learning about it- as I’m learning I’m wondering if i actually it 😅)
      Anyway if you know how much your dosage should be then you could take your normal dosage and then add say 20mg to a drinking bottle. Then when you feel yourself start to crash you could start to drink based on how late at night/your tolerance etc etc…
      Would that work do you think?
      Asking for a friend because I’m in the military and if I had adhd I wouldn’t have a job.
      Hope you’re doing well. I’m just learning about this now and I’m in my 30s. ✌️

    Hi there! I just started a few weeks ago. I am struggling on the days I don't take it. I don't want to use it everyday because I don't want to lose my spark or turn into a zombie, so I in most weekends I don't take it. Those days I feel so extremely tired and a bit depressive. Do you have tips how to deal with this or make it less worse on those days?

    • @drkiddMD
      @drkiddMD  Месяц назад

      General advice to someone that is noticing significant drop off on days not taking the medication, cannot give specific individual advice over the internet, but in this situation firstly optimise lifestyle factors (good sleep, exercise, eat healthy, don't smoke/drink etc.), then if still really bad can consider a lower dose of medication on those days. The last option is to take the medication everyday but then there is a risk of tolerance to the medication.

      Hi Ashley, there can be other factors to consider such as stress, burnout, taking on took much at the moment that can all contribute. There are also some patient's that unfortunately do not respond well to Vyvanse. There are still other options such as Ritalin, Concerta, Strattera and Guanfacine depending on the specific symptoms. I have videos on most of these so you can check them out if interested. Hang in there I'm sure you will find something.

      this is 10 months late and im also experiencing this as well. Ive heard anecdotally that dosaging for vyvanse and adderal are very different and generally speaking adderall dosing is stronger than vyvanse. perhaps the dose was not high enough? Im going to be talking to my doctor in about a week and I was wondering if you are still on Vyvanse and if so what helped for you?

    my problem with vyvanse is that it takes too long to start, i need to get started immediately, so i have to take a dextroamphetamine along with vyvanse to get everything jump started. vyvanse alone, i have to wait 2-3hrs or more before it kicks in. crazy. it does give me dry mouth and sometimes i can't sleep long enough with vyvanse, meaning only 4-5hrs of sleep. once again crazy.

    • @drkiddMD

      Vyvanse typically works relatively quickly, if you are noticing minimal effect after 1 week consider increasing the dose with your doctor!

    • @MeganVictoriaKearns
      @MeganVictoriaKearns Год назад +1

      20mg is actually really low. But, the dosage does depend on your height and weight, IMO. (*Not a doctor. Vyvanse patient, 2010-2023) I began age 28. 5'2, 96 lbs. Started at 30mg. And I was teeny-tiny! So 20mg does sound low. I think it goes up to 70mg.
It was correct, obviously. I was VERY smart. 😉😉😉😉 so, I moved along... At 26-27ish, realizing (to my utter horror, at least initially, lol 😆) that I, in fact, knew basically nothing about anything, it was then I revisited alternative ADHD management options that were different than my original experience at trying to get it under some control.
