- In this video, Kahn explores MODO BASS by IK Multimedia. In order to get a good reggae tone, he shows how to set the bass's playing position, which strings to use, and some settings on the built in amp sim and plays along with a heavy chord progression he made.

The Beatles bass (Höfner Violin Bass) has quite a warm sound. If I am not mistaken Flabba Holt uses it from time to time, especially in studio. Also, out there there are some pics of a very young Robbie Shakespear playing it. Thanks for the video!

Awesome vst. Haven't figured out how to achieve the slides yet.... maybe a video on how to use the keys witches to achieve those gracious and beautiful slides in your last video..not sure about the concept/theory of how many notes to slide from on keyboatd etc..

mr Kahn, i don't see that many comparisons being made between MODO BASS and a real bass. Can you make one video plyaing the same thing on a real bass at the same vol and then playe it on the modo with your best setting.
Hey man, I only demo’d this plugin when I made this video a long time ago. I don’t have the plugin anymore so I can’t really do what you are requesting. Anyways I will say it sounds pretty realistic and is useable. With that said, nothing beats a real bass guitar.
@@DMKahn Oh bummer. When i listen to your bass, it sounds amazing, clean. When i listen to MODO, no matter how hard i try, the bass bothers me on cheaper speakers. Not yours. That is why i am intrigued what is so different about a real bass. When i hear the band Stick Figure, their bass also sounds amazing. I wonder if am doing something wrong. I might have to spend the money on a bass to find out.

Do you have any vst samples that you recommend for the rhythm guitar skank and organ bubble? I saw soundfingers leskank but can’t pay $400 for Native Instruments Kontakt. Props!
I recommend a real guitar. As for the bubble organ I would get Acoustic Samples B5. It’s not expensive and is really outstanding

No, I just demo’d it for making this video. I use a real bass guitar, but a lot of my followers don’t so I thought it would be good to demo for that viewers

good but there important function slide are not avalable..
There are some pretty cool ways to slide from one note to another, I wish I highlighted that
