I miss Buffy being on the air. I don't think we have ever had such a good show in the 17 years since it came to a close in 2003. There have been some great show since Buffy ended, but no where on the same level by far as Buffy.

Agreed. People point to The Sopranos or Breaking Bad--both shows that I think are absolutely brilliant, but neither ever made me cry or inspired me to change the way I live my life.
Personally, I loved buffy until the buffy and spike arc. Seemed more like a bad fanfic softcore porno that id be embarrassed to let my kids watch. The Magicians was a great show that absolutely destroyed me emotionally. Its characters were more relatable also. Hell even supernatural brought tears to my eyes on a number of occasions, even if the writing was cheesey most of the time.

Daina Leigh Joss never liked Angel, that's why. I think he also says he liked Spike and Buffy together better. I think it's because he didn't actually create the character and that's why he's against him.
Wrong, Joss Whedon created the character for his show Buffy as a love-interest for her, David Boreanaz wasn't his ideal choice to play Angel because he thought he was too handsome and not much of an actor, but the more he saw him the more he warmed up to him. In fact when he became Angelus, David Boreanaz got better and better to the point where he started to outgrow the way they established Angel's character on Buffy and that's when Joss started thinking of ideas for the Angel series. In the episode in season two "I Only Have Eyes for You" when Angelus gets possessed by the spirit of a teacher a student fell in love with, that was the moment Joss was convinced that David was so good he could carry his own series. If Joss Whedon never really liked Angel he never would've given Angel his own television series. Though he has admitted to having a hard time trying to write Angel out because he always thought he was tough to relate to, but what he and other writers did for the Angel series is break the character down and make him suffer so that he would pick himself back up again and keep fighting and every time they do that they figure out more and more about him as they go along.

Every time I listen to this, I get the chills. Buffy and Angel's love was the best part of the buffyverse, and this music was so perfect. Miss these shows and characters so much..

But the love between Angel and Buffy was so pure especially season 1-4 before they started trying to force us to watch her fall for Spike and Angel for Cordelia. And I actually did like both of those pairings eventually but once your complete both series and go back to the beginning, there is no feeling like watching Bangel. They literally would look at each other and get lost into their love and passion for each other. Like all it took was one touch. And neither one of them ever gave their WHOLE heart to anyone else again. But David and Sarah are Bangel shippers and that's all I need. To hell with Spuffy fans, lMAO.
This is still the greatest love story ever told on television to me. I have never felt so much for two fictional characters as I did these two. I love how Sarah and David both are convinced their characters are soulmates.
Currently watching this episode in 2023 at 32 years old and balling my eyes out still. This song will forever mean so much to me along with this show. It's amazing how after all these years when I hear it, I feel I'm back in the place I grew up watching it for the first time about 11 years old crying just the same. The power of music!

But my mental health and past traumas were too much for me, I got horrible and I became too much to deal with so she left me. I miss her and think about her everyday, I love her more than anything in this world
i'm also going through this exact same feeling right now and have been for the past 7 months (minus the introduced me to buffy part, i actually introduced her to the show lol). loved her more than anything in the world but all of my traumas and mental illnesses bubbled up to the point i became an unrecognizable version of myself. constantly hurting the people i love just to lessen the pain of my own hurt. ive been there. she left me, too. i know i was the bad guy and ever since she left ive been working to undo all the harm ive caused, or at least try to make things right with most of the people ive hurt. none of them deserved that shit. but no matter how much i get better and make things right, there's one thing that's certain: she's never coming back to me, and it's entirely my fault. and i have to accept that.

Close Your Eyes along with Remembering Jenny and Sacrifice always guarantees floods of tears if you ever need a real good true cry. Not just for the association with what happened in the TV show but personal life memories and helps one to let out past and present pain and anguish but is also there to just reminisce with and enjoy the masterpiece that it is. My other favourite score is The Final Fight such an emotional yet empowering piece of music that always communicates to me that I can bad ass my way through anything. The Final Fight both in its original length and Long Version have always been and will be brilliant.

"Surprise" when Buffy went from campy WB drama to a Shakespearean level of greatness, unmatched. If Season 5 were the actual finale it would be unanimously considered the #1 show of all time.

Season 5 finale would have been a horrible end to the character of Buffy. How are you going to have 5 seasons of the show telling you that Buffy is completely different than the other Slayers only to have Buffy die in the line of duty exactly like other Slayers. 🤦♂️ And if that's the message you got from Chosen, perhaps you didn't pay close attention to understand the statement the show was making.

Yes and the same goes for Angel. He never loved anyone the way he loved Buffy, not even Cordelia (which made no sense to me). Their love was unbreakable, even after all those years. Other people came and went and they cared about them for sure, but Buff and Angel, that was true, everlasting love and Sarah and David made it work so well. I think their affection and connection was very real (platonically of course) which is why you get this feeling of deep love even without them having to say it.
I just love this piece of music cause it's epic with the ending of season 2....it still gives me goosebumps after all these years and to be honest me in Buffy's place at the end of season 2: I would have let the world ended, I wouldn't have killed Angel ;)

Angelus is one of the few villains on the show who I'd call in the purest sense, so many have a second agenda, something they will gain through the destruction they cause. But Angelus himself exists solely to cause pain and torment. But that's what makes the contrast of his 'true' self so interesting :D I still think the interaction between him and Jenny and the subsequent chase through the school is one of the most genuinely tense/horrific moments I'm the entire show, and him gloating over Buffy and Willows reactions to the news is just perfect, it definitely takes the character to new heights..
Njjar Malak Yeah Spike was evil then and he did try to rape Buffy but the reason soulless Buffyverse vampires are evil is because they're evil bodiless demons who inhabit human corpses.

"Surprise" when Buffy went from campy WB drama to a Shakespearean level of greatness, unmatched. If Season 5 were the actual finale it would be unanimously considered the #1 show of all time.
Conrad of Montferrat it bugs me when people say this. I get where you’re coming from but season 7 finale was so much more thematically perfect than the season 5 finale.
@@robgaeta1806 Season 7 finale forced a lifetime of nightmarish horrors and demon fighting on a generation of innocent girls. It is a terrible finale to a terrible season, and deserves the terrible reputation it has.

Season 5 finale would have been a horrible end to the character of Buffy. How are you going to have 5 seasons of the show telling you that Buffy is completely different than the other Slayers only to have Buffy die in the line of duty exactly like other Slayers. 🤦♂️
And if that's the message you got from Chosen, perhaps you didn't pay close attention to understand the statement the show was making.

In episode 2x22 that scene was so heartbreaking to watch That scene was officially their last kiss for a very long time, it’s so sad that he got his soul right back when she had to kill him poor Buffy I couldn’t literally stopping crying When he said her name she knew he was back to himself again but it was to late for him

Yes and the same goes for Angel. He never loved anyone the way he loved Buffy, not even Cordelia (which made no sense to me). Their love was unbreakable, even after all those years. Other people came and went and they cared about them for sure, but Buff and Angel, that was true, everlasting love and Sarah and David made it work so well. I think their affection and connection was very real (platonically of course) which is why you get this feeling of deep love even without them having to say it.

Buffy and Angel enduring so much complication and hard times still frustrates me to this day. The birth of their love story was sooo meant to be it's a shame it didn't last.

Maybe because I'm not used to watching awesome tv series such as this but I was really pissed off when Angel killed Jenny Calendar but then I literally cried when Angel died
Angelus is one of the few villains on the show who I'd call in the purest sense, so many have a second agenda, something they will gain through the destruction they cause. But Angelus himself exists solely to cause pain and torment. But that's what makes the contrast of his 'true' self so interesting :D I still think the interaction between him and Jenny and the subsequent chase through the school is one of the most genuinely tense/horrific moments I'm the entire show, and him gloating over Buffy and Willows reactions to the news is just perfect, it definitely takes the character to new heights..

Njjar Malak Yeah Spike was evil then and he did try to rape Buffy but the reason soulless Buffyverse vampires are evil is because they're evil bodiless demons who inhabit human corpses.
