- The alternate version of Sacrifice - not the one used in the actual episode and apparently the one available on CD in the USA (do correct me if I'm wrong).

"Dawn, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. But this is the work that I have to do. Tell Giles... tell Giles I figured it out. And, and I'm okay. And give my love to my friends. You have to take care of them now. You have to take care of each other. You have to be strong. Dawn, the hardest thing in this world... is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me."
"The hardest thing in this world.. is to live in it. So be brave. Live."
I can't believe how amazing this show was. This is one of the only television shows that interested me enough to watch until the end.
Pretty much every emotional beat in Buffy still hits me like the first time every time I watch the show, and this scene is no different. I cried like a baby when I saw this scene.
I love how Buffy turns around and sees the day Dawn and she knows what to do...
I've watched Buffy loads of times and every time I hear this it makes me get this horrible feeling in my throat! and it never fails to make me cry lol
Yep, this is the one from s6 episode 2, Bargaining Part 2, when Buffy revisits the set from s5's finale.
Just hearing this music I cry. Omg I love Buffy soooooo much. I was and is the best series ever.
I saw on the A&E special they did back in 2003 just before the series finale that the only reason they killed her off here in season 5, is because they thought the series wasn't going to get picked up for another season because the wb and 2oth century fox, were fighting over who would get the rights to it, it wasn't that they ever thought the show was ending, it was just a dispute over money. so, upn picked it up, and opened the new season with apparently THIS particular song
just an unforgetable scene... beautiful speech... heartbreaking moment :(
this song always brings tears to my eyes...
So beautiful😭❤️
I cried so hard when I watched this episode .. 😢
this version was used on the season six premiere!:)
"BUFFY!" :'( - cried my heart out
who else cried when the episode to this song aired?
I cried and cried. As a GIANT BtVS fan who shut off the world every Tuesday night during the series run, I remember feeling SO lost, and experienced a loss. I knew the show was going to the new network, but the show was never really the same. So in essence, BtVS DID die. And this suite is a sad reminder of that Tuesday night on the WB.
I cried cause it made me think of my oldest sister she died of stomach cancer in 2003 she was 31 years old.
you could say that but the series kinda had to continue for the main reason of what do you do in a world with vampires and demons when the lastest slayer Faith had commited herself to prison for her crimes/sins and that a New Slayer would not be activated after Buffy's Death seeing as it had already happened when she died the 1st time with Kendra and then when she dies Faith was called which was the basic story line for season 7
you know this scene is powerful when you can close your eyes, listen to the score and still see every moment.
And weep. 😭
watch record and cried atdis episode over an over again! i love u buffy!!!!
made me cry alot 😭😭
I agree with you on the Angel point. The grey areas explored in there really made me think on where the line of good and evil is, whilst Buffy felt a bit too clean cut. Maybe that's why I like Spike so much: He distorts their worldviews with his whole being - evil to a point but still capable of good. I guess, for his sake, it was worth continuing...if it hadn't been for the IDIOT who thought it was necessary for him to go get a soul! And don't get me started on Seeing Red!
Beautiful version!
Ho tutto su Buffy ho tutti i Dvd che mi piacciono e me li guardo quando voglio.
@completebritish, This version, to my knowledge, was never on the Buffy CD. The one from "The Gift" is. This version was played during Season 6 episode of "Bargaining, pt 2" where Dawn and Buffy are back on the tower. This version is also heard on the original Season 6 U.S. DVD, for the Scene Selection menu.
"is this Hell?"
😭😭😭😭
This my favorite episode!
This is the 6x01 episode
I think both versions are great!
But wasn't this version used in the 'Bargaining?'
But that's the whole point! You end on a 'what happens now?' line. The world is saved but there's still evil out there to fight and now the Slayer we know is gone, what happens next?
Also there's the issue of content. We got pretty good eps in the form of Once More With Feeling and a couple of others, but it felt like the series was really on its last legs. A cliffhanger ending would've been so much more powerful
I love 1:08 onwards...
The shocker of my life. They should've stopped here.
Legit, I thought I was the only one who drew the parallel between ME3 and Buffy Season 5 endings.
Scratch that, I stand corrected! x.x
Point noted and well made...except for the fact that we now know that the Shanshu is Angel exclusive...meh, still makes Spike a better guy. He's not in it for the reward.
I don't understand how you said, "not this version." This version was used in S6 "Bargaining, pt 2." I recently watched the episode and it had this version in parts, plus I remember always preferring this one since it was a little fast paced than the version in "The Gift."
:'(
@BuffyLoverGirl I cant watch that episode D< It depresses me :P
i always thought that the last scene of "Normal Again" would have been a really good ending to the series. I can just imagine mine and all us other slayerettes with our WTF!!!!! faces
I could be wrong....but I don't think Christophe Beck did this.
Not a Buffy fan, but this is the only song that feels like my depression...i hate this song, and i love this song.
