One of the most devastating and emotional scenes of the entire series - and there were many. It still resonates 20 years later. And this is for me the definitive version of Goodbye to You. So raw and heartbreaking. It never made sense to me that this wasn't the version used for the single and video. It's perfection.
Sometimes I rewatch this scene just to make myself sad. It works every time. Michelle Branch’s voice. The song. Buffy just got pulled out of heaven and back into the world. Tara and Willow broke up. Tara moves out. Giles is moving back to Britain. The tension between Spike and Buffy. Dawn is upset that Tara is moving out. Spike and Buffy have their first kiss. It’s all too much for my fragile heart. Imma go watch it again. My favorite scene in all cinematic history.
Okay, don't get me wrong, I like Willow and I loved Willow/Tara but Willow brought this on herself. What was Tara supposed to do? Continue to be with someone who was abusing her trust that way?! Come on, people. Willow needed a wake-up call and it still took quite a few episodes before she would even acknowledge she had done something wrong. I know people have made the comparison before but this is exactly like someone who's addicted to something (drugs, gambling, etc) would react and Tara is everyone who is in love with or related to someone who's addicted. They love the person but they can't stand there and watch the one they love do this to themselves and other people anymore. It's too painful
It’s not that people don’t like change. Shows like this remind you of how shallow things have become. Musicians aren’t like this anymore and neither is television. During this time the world had soul
I remember this scene like it was yesterday. Now that I’m 30, I can resonate so strongly with Dawn not understanding the impact of a betrayal and Tara leaving a relationship with a toxic flaw. Buffy will forever be my favourite show ever.
It's so hard to describe to people who have never watched Buffy how unbelievably brilliant it is. And this moment - when Tara leaves Willow in season 6 - is the gut-wrenching emotional climax of the best season of televsion ever filmed. Michelle Branch sings ... my soul shreds into pieces ... my eyes fill with tears ... my heart breaks all over again. Perfection.
Anyone still here in 2020! Buffy is a classic, and this still gives me goosebumps!

I wish she would have released this version. that pause really makes it
Did anyone else feel so deeply happy to see Buffy and Spike kiss?
Here in 2024. Buffy will always remain in my heart. ❤

Some pretty incredible music was performed at The Bronze.

2023 and this is still a classic...
The thing that always got me was Michelle doing 75-80% of this song with just her guitar and voice! So powerful and talented!!!
Rewatching Buffy now and... OMG, this kiss, THIS KISS!!!!!
This song is perfect for when Willow and Tara broke up. Also, "Goodbye to You" is probably my favourite Michelle Branch song.
2024
Here in 2023! Such an emotionally wrecking scene😭🫶
Damn, it’s been YEARS and I still cried when I saw Tara moving out.....💔
