You ask chat why and how Zelda was revived. My first thought (and one I've seen echoed online) is that what're we're seeing at the very end with Link, Sonia and Rauru is a balanced Triforce. In the Zelda series, Link is in essence the avatar of the triforce of courage, Zelda wisdom, and Ganondorf power. However, in this context we have Rauru and Sonia channeling power and wisdom, respectively. And what does the unified Triforce do? Answer: it grants the true desire of the one who wields it, and in that moment, Link desired only one thing: To save Zelda.
It fits thematically too. The first quest and last quest is find Zelda. It's not beat ganondorf.. That just happens to be in the path of finding Zelda. If the final quest is supposed to be the most important quest then find Zelda should be Link's most important task.
I think it's the same as with her Light power in Breath of the Wild. Her love for Link awakened her power back then, and now she was awakened from within the Light Dragon by a warm, loving embrace.
The dive to catch her at the end was so symbolic, even the camera angle of his hand reaching for hers - a chance to correct his failing at the beginning of the story, where he failed to save her then, wounded as he was, now he could try again with all his renewed might and power.
My Hylian shield broke in the last phase of the demon king fight and I cannot explain how fucking thematically cool that was to me. All that’s left is the sword and the spirit of the hero. Total endgame moment right there. And of course I couldn’t be made because the save sets you before the boss so my shield wasn’t gone but that was a huge and happy coincidence.
Wow same here. Demon King Ganondorf shattered my Hylian shield too!! I would never allow such a thing to happen against any foe but him, it fit too perfectly.

I finished the main quest around 2 weeks after release and I have spent the time since then watching other people's reactions to the ending, and I still cry or at least tear up every single time. It's just so beautiful, from the sages showing up to fight all together to those David-and-Goliath shots of tiny Zelda-dragon facing off against Ganon-dragon, and of course the whole diving scene with all the classic Zelda music references making it just that much more emotional. here's one of my favorite details in the 2nd stage of the ganondorf fight: the sages come in at the order you did them. My order was : Yunobo, Tulin, Sidon, Riju, Mineru. But it's different for each player. Was every player going to notice this? No? Is it super small? Yes. Did it make the game better? To me, yes. It's the small things in this game that make it so compelling, and you really see Nintendo's attention to detail
Damn. I played in the "intended" order (not by looking up or anything), which is also their order when showing up before the Demon King's Army, their reversed order (apart from Mineru) when the bosses appear and the order of the themes in the credits. I've seen a few RUclipsrs, only 1 or 2 did a different order and most of them edited out the sages coming in at phase 2, so I never noticed. BotW and TotK are filled with little details which I have come to see as little lovenotes from the developers. Can't wait for all of the TotK details to be discovered over the next few years.
The moment the dragon’s health bar appeared, everything vanished. The switch, the controller, my reality. Everything was gone. You're not weird for shipping Link and Zelda. This particular version of them has the most blatant relationship outside of Skyward Sword. They're straight up implied to be living together.
@@wickedTricksterand Zelda comparing link waking her as a loving embrace and using the oh link I’m home which sound very similar to oh honey I’m home lines used in movies
There is also a reaaaaly suddle hint that they wanted to hold hands when looking at the castle. Not sure if it is just because of the shipping wishing but it really looks like that because its links left hand and zeldas right hand that have a little movement to each other.
Completely mirrored my reaction, I was absolutely sobbing through the entire ending sequence. Also, imo Zelda got revived through Sonia and Rauru amplifying the recall power Zelda gave to Link, reversing her to before she became a dragon (which explains why she still has her spirit stone).
I love watching everyone's reaction to Zelda returning from being a dragon. They nailed the emotions perfectly. They let everyone have a moment of pure joy right before they punch everyone in the feels with zelda's theme. I don't know how they managed to trigger pure happiness and pure sadness (but more happiness overall) at the same time.
Something I only realised at the end and deffo added to the emotional charge of it is that this is a game where you put a lot of yourself into. It’s a genuine open world, you decide the pace and flow of the story, you can be the fighter or the explorer and both approaches are rewarding no matter where you go. Every upgrade, piece of armour, stamina vessel, heart container…all is won with an investment of time and your personal take on the game. What Nintendo did there was that they made us Link, and by the end, when Zelda awakes, she is thanking Link but we feel like she is thanking us, the player, because we built and poured so much of ourselves into Link’s character throughout the whole game, we invested so much time and perseverance in gathering understanding over what has happened and, in the process, healing him. So all of a sudden Zelda is the biggest reward to ourselves; she is almost like talking directly at us - it was us, Link, who saved her and she is thanking us for being her hero. No other game ever made me feel this way and this is one of the reasons why this has been one of the best experiences in gaming I ever had.
So, it’s not controversial to say that this is the best version of Princess Zelda to date, right? In BOTW, her plan to seal Ganon to buy time for Link was more out of desperation. But in TOTK, Rauru and Sonia allow her to study and be herself, allowing her to hone her skills naturally. As a result, she’s able to piece together what’s happening and formulate a calculated and long term plan to defeat Ganondorf in the future. She actually ends up embodying the Triforce of Wisdom (and courage with the whole dragon thing and power with the way she uses her time powers in battle and to repair the Master Sword imo) and creating her own legend. This also feels like the first time where Zelda doesn’t really feel like a damsel to me. Yes, you do save her from falling at the very end, but it feels more like you’re repaying her for everything she’s done to help you (and her kingdom) and less like you’re saving a helpless damsel. And the scene that happens right after Link brings her ashore is extremely heartfelt, with Zelda reflecting on her journey and realizing that she successfully did it just as Link did it.
When I finished and looked at the pictures during the credits (the handshakes and similar images), I realized Rauru's arm is like a theme in this game. The entire game is about Zelda and Link 'reaching out', making connections and providing support (giving a hand). Even the climax is somewhat of a visual re-do, of Link successfully catching Zelda's hand with his, when in the beginning he failed to do so.
This is the only video game that has ever made me cry. I can't put into words how much I love this franchise and this game. This was probably the most satisfying ending to a Zelda game I have ever experienced. For the longest time Ocarina of Time held the top spot as my favorite game of all time, but I think I might have a new favorite after playing Tears of the Kingdom.
I have another one that made me cry actually, Neo The World Ends With You, the twist in the supposedly final fight... You'll know if you played it, it just hits me, like "it was YOU? The whole time?"
I think out of every reaction I've seen so far of the finale, yours resonated with me the most. From the dive beneath the castle and traversing the deepest depths all the way to the heart of Hyrule, the battle with Ganondorf in all his phases had me so energized, the absolute shock and awe at reemerging from the ground in the jaws of the beast, all of it had me so excited. But like you, the moment that pushed me over the edge entirely was hearing that roar and Zelda swoops in to join you in the final clash. The tears just started flowing and would not stop until the credits rolled. And I am SO glad you looked up when the sky turned red so you could see the Blood Moon at its absolute zenith in the sky; no one else I've watched has done that, and it's such an incredible detail. I have not played a game in a very long time that struck such an emotional chord with me as this did, especially in this moment. The music... My God, the music was incredible... the Zelda's Lullaby motif interspersed throughout the final boss theme, and especially its placement between the main theme and the classic Legend of Zelda motif in that last dive sequence. Nintendo knocked it out of the stratosphere with Tears of the Kingdom. I rolled credits at around 270 hours, and I still have things to find here and there, but I enjoyed every single minute I put into it.
Yeah that's literally how I survived phase 3. I couldn't get the timing for dodging some of his attacks so it turned into a game of stay alive and hit the red orbs lol
Came here after your Titan stream. I didn’t cry when I finished this game but cried with you just now. Like a fine sake finally kicked in lol. Two peak games in two month is just overwhelming 😂
Months later & I still appreciate this video. The ending was PERFECT, something we don’t see a lot in video games. I wasn’t a Zelda fan until I played this. I played BOTW & thought it was good but THIS did it. These are the moments we gamers live for. This was truly beautiful.
I have 2 profiles. One I share with my son and my other one. I completed tears of the kingdom in 295 hours, then I realised I did it on the wrong profile, so I’m playing it again. Already up to 75 hours. I will never tire of this, and I will never not cry.
So I’m assuming if you go into this fight without the mastersword, Link will draw it in the moment just before the fight begins and you get that whole cutscene where Zelda explains that the sword is healed. Pretty cool way to ensure the player canonically kills Ganon with the mastersword
When I grabbed Zelda’s hand it somehow perfectly synced up with the ‘clap’ of the song. The amount of spiritual moments TotK has given me is nothing short of magical. Well worth the wait, a perfect sequel to Breath of the Wild.
I wish Nintendo would have warned us the the “tears” of the kingdom would be coming from our eyes 😭. What a beautiful experience. There is no way this isn’t the GOTY.
I have watched different reactions from the final game of TotK, but yours was so similar to mine. But one difference. I did not anticipate that Zelda would help us in her dragon form. Even short after Ganondorfs transformation. It totally took me off guard. As a Zelda fan since A Link to the Past, it is great how far the series has evolved. You fighting a gigantic draconified Ganondorf on a draconified Zelda up in the skies. I nearly forgot to breath during the fight. And the Ending speaks for itself. It will be hard for Nintendo to top that (Maybe Zelda in space, i don`t know).
This game is amazing, to a point, i would counterargue that this should not be the first video game people experience. It would spoil you so badly that other games would hit you less hard
This end still makes me having tears after the 10th times I see it it's just so perfect and outstanding end! The best end of all Zelda's games! Thought I really loved TP and SS ends but this one wow
A very epic ending sequence. A number of the Zelda series games end up 'defeating' Ganondorf (or the main villain), always keeping the door open for future encounters. But this game literally carries out the main sub-quest....and destroys Ganondorf. The ending scene still keeps a door slightly open for the potential need for Hyrule's heroes, just not apparently with Ganondorf showing up again. It will be interesting to see where the game developers take the Legend of Zelda series after this one, which will be hard to top.
Did not play ocarina when it came out, but much later. Still see it as the most influential game. Thought it was the best tho, before totk. This game is an absolute masterpiece.
It's okay to keep weeping at end of adventure... i stopped for 3 weeks after i found Zelda was the light dragon for 3 weeks.... your reaction to the end game was the same as mine.
This is the first video of this content creator I have seen, but him and his content seem amazing! glad to see you also enjoyed the game, I cried sm TvT
I love that you saw and reacted to the torch. I felt exactly the same way first time. Literally stood there for a minute and took it in. I was so ready. So ready to face Ganon and save her
My first though when I finished the game: "Rauru you SOAB! If you are going to transform Zelda into a hilyan again, don't do it when we are like 5000 ft away from the floor"
@5:37:45 "How did they program this" My thought would be obviously not as simple but simplified down. When link is on Zeldas head, the program makes zelda fly above ganon so link and jump off. When link jumps off, zelda is programmed to go under ganon to await link again. Once links character model drops below ganons dragon, it then programs zeldas dragon to seek link and grab him to just technically be a MASSIVE loop, on the grand scale. love it
The real tears came out right after finishing the game… that is with what at the end you stay with… I got the same reaction and for me I believe that if you think it this way, you went through so many things with the character and Zelda, and you got into the game so much that it is impossible not to feel the story… all the things Link had to go through it was… a lot
I just finished the game. And I’m now bingeing on reactions. So great to see everyone feeling the same way I did when I finished - I was a teary eyed mess. It wasn’t sad, it was a catharsis for me, and the realization that there’s so much love there … and I’m not a Zelda and Link shipper by any means. Thank you for sharing this!!
I had to fucking fight ganondorf with three hearts since the rest were corrupted the whole time. I couldn’t cook anything or heal at all. I had to learn each dodge with searing precision and needed to know when to attack at the exact optimal time. My skill in Zelda games has increased dramatically due to this boss fight. It’s made me stronger because I couldn’t heal at all during the fight and one hit from ganon would mean that I’d have to start over ALL OVER AGAIN. I COULDN’T EVEN SKIP THE CUTSCENES BECAUSE MY GAME BUGGED OUT. So I had to sit through each. Fucking. Cutscene. For hundreds of attempts and it sucked the life out of me. The moment I finally got out of the depths and fought dragon ganon I’ve never felt such satisfaction.
Ok, if Silksong comes out this year, I will vote for it (if it makes it onto the Game Awards). But, for now, this game is GOTY. After watching the ending, my view on the game completely changed (I did not cry because video games in general don’t make me cry).
I will say, for as much as they fumbled the story in this game, the beginning and the ending more than make up for it. The prologue is almost perfect in how it sets up the story of the game. The ending, I got the one-on-one swordfight with Ganon I always wanted (The Twilight Princes one was good, but it just needed something more), and a great end battle I could never have predicted would be as amazing as it was.
Awesome video! I either missed it or what but I'm surprised you didn't even blink at getting a heart PERMANENTLY removed in the fight from one of Ganons attacks. I lost like 4 in my fight and was freaking tf out!!
I’m here simply because I wanted to see if others reacted the same as me during the final segment. Just masterful stuff from Nintendo with this. When Zelda’s Lullaby hit during the dive, I was done.
I haven't seen anyone yet during a reaction notice or talk about the comparison of link diving to save Zelda and failing at the beginning and then succeeding at the end to catch her. I thought it was a really nice touch. the story for BOTW was decent, great even, but the story this time was on another level! thanks for your reaction!
I love your symbolic "carrying a torch" for Zelda, because if you say that someone is carrying a torch for someone else, you mean that they secretly admire them or love them.
I am a dude who has cried 3 times because of games (joel hugs elli, arthur dies, link catches zelda) but nothing made me like full on ugly cry. imma be real I was like laying on my floor and shii for like an hour just crying
For Future Reference/Tip, when he uses that Power up (when you need to take Flight) whilst in mid air, with your (either Revali's/Lynel x3 28 Bow) Plus make sure you have a 3x Attack up as it will make the Arrows have more of a Target and Take More Power! whilst in mid air, Shoot the Demon King it will take good hit, also those red balls he summons around you use them to throw against him using your Master Sword.
For me, Botw looks like a ``link development``, TotK a ``Zelda development`` and maybe they develop Ganon or Malice next and complete the triforce and maybe in a fourth, they close the survival Zelda genre Arc.
at the end Zelda says "I'm home." and you've probably heard this before but there's a saying, 'home is where the heart is.' and Link is standing right in front of her. Link was also able to save her for the same reason she was able to use her sacred power in BOTW, Link was in danger and that was the first time she activated her power. This was because of her love for Link. Rauru and Sonia channel their power through Link, but when he channels his power the light triples. this is because of his andless love for Zelda. also botw did revalis gale better than totk.
True one detail that also corroborates the “home is where the heart is” thing is that In the Japanese version of this ending she says tamada (I’m pretty shure i spelled it wrong” but it basically is a great or something you say to someone when you return home but it’s only ment for someone that is close family or a lover since it is a sign or affection so it’s basically Nintendos silent way of confirming it also link smiles when Zelda says warm loving embrace so it only makes sense for it to be his “embrace” I’m just waiting for nbc to make one of his videos on this stuff
Honestly never felt the need for revalis gale in this game. There was always a possibility to go up in some way. Tulins ability is much more useful here. All the other botw abilities are still much better tho.
Ya know, i still wonder looking back how many people figured out that the heart erasing gloom attacks can be deflected with the Master Sword in a classic moment of Dead Man's Volley
You literally saw the mural of the sages fighting Ganondorf in Mineru's memory and an hour later in the mural room you had already forgotten it hahaha.
When game gave me control back after showing falling Zelda, I didn't hesitate one moment, I barely saw her through tears in my eyes, I pressed that ZR button has hard as possible, while reaching for the screen, every single muscle in my body tight to the max, literally crying as If I just bring back someone to life, after missing him for my entire life.

You're not weird for shipping Link and Zelda. This particular version of them has the most blatant relationship outside of Skyward Sword. They're straight up implied to be living together.
Living together with one bed in the whole house even
@@wickedTricksterand Zelda comparing link waking her as a loving embrace and using the oh link I’m home which sound very similar to oh honey I’m home lines used in movies
Well Link presumably had a relationship with Mipha tho
@@DVDPlayer18 ???? Link never had a relationship with Mipha. Mipha was in love with Link but she never got to admit those feelings before she died.
There is also a reaaaaly suddle hint that they wanted to hold hands when looking at the castle. Not sure if it is just because of the shipping wishing but it really looks like that because its links left hand and zeldas right hand that have a little movement to each other.
The credits casually pulling up bangers every 30 seconds
My daughter cried like a baby. The ending was so beautiful and epic. I literally stood up and yelled GO LINK GET HER! when I saw her falling
The only thought in my head when facing off with Dragon Ganon was, "Alright, princess, let's finish this!"
Am I the only one that used master sword to reflect Ganondorf's projectiles back at him like in Ocarina of Time? And it worked.
I did too. Haven't sen any streamer do this yet.
Too busy running for my life.
I tried using recall but it didn't work, and was too scared to try swinging at em lol
Yeah that's literally how I survived phase 3. I couldn't get the timing for dodging some of his attacks so it turned into a game of stay alive and hit the red orbs lol
You'd think more people would have tried Ganon tennis with the amount of times it has been featured in previous games
Came here after your Titan stream. I didn’t cry when I finished this game but cried with you just now. Like a fine sake finally kicked in lol. Two peak games in two month is just overwhelming 😂
"How did they program this?" Very well.
He draws it in the final phase with the Demon Dragon atop the Light Dragons Head seeing as that is the Master Swords resting place for this game. :)
The only time I cried in a video game was from TotK's ending dive scene and The Last of Us' intro. :')
Try Red Dead Redemption 2 :)

When I grabbed Zelda’s hand it somehow perfectly synced up with the ‘clap’ of the song. The amount of spiritual moments TotK has given me is nothing short of magical.
Well worth the wait, a perfect sequel to Breath of the Wild.
That music right before you make the final dive and the choir gets louder and louder...
I wish Nintendo would have warned us the the “tears” of the kingdom would be coming from our eyes 😭. What a beautiful experience. There is no way this isn’t the GOTY.
my reaction and yours have parallels because i felt it just as you did. great to see
I have watched different reactions from the final game of TotK, but yours was so similar to mine.
This is it. The end of the Bringer of Demise's curse. And it was glorious.
👀👀👀 😂
im going to miss this link and zelda. the 2 of them had such a great connection and bond for each other. i would hate to see them get replaced.
This is the most wholesome reaction to the ending I've seen, it really hits you in the feels huh
This game is amazing, to a point, i would counterargue that this should not be the first video game people experience.
It would spoil you so badly that other games would hit you less hard
Totally agree. BOTW and TOTK ruins other games.
literally
Yup
Megaman zero 4 ending was better
I like how there’s just no words after the game ended
This end still makes me having tears after the 10th times I see it it's just so perfect and outstanding end! The best end of all Zelda's games! Thought I really loved TP and SS ends but this one wow
Not everyone has won the game yet. Just came out over a Month ago.
I also felt emotional after the finale, It's a once in lifetime experience to play this game
5:44:49 The chin grab when you know the tears are coming and you're trying to play it cool
This may have topped ocarina of Time. I’m not sure yet but it’s very close.
Same scenario as me. Weighing this up strongly.
Did not play ocarina when it came out, but much later. Still see it as the most influential game. Thought it was the best tho, before totk. This game is an absolute masterpiece.
I accidently found mineru and did the temple as my 3rd sage, before riju and tulin.
It's okay to keep weeping at end of adventure... i stopped for 3 weeks after i found Zelda was the light dragon for 3 weeks.... your reaction to the end game was the same as mine.
I love how his shrines on the map go in for different directions shooting of from lookout landing
Thank you for sharing your stream, I had a wonderful time reliving my own emotions as I watched you go through the final battles and the ending. ❤
This is the first video of this content creator I have seen, but him and his content seem amazing! glad to see you also enjoyed the game, I cried sm TvT
I love that you saw and reacted to the torch. I felt exactly the same way first time.
Literally stood there for a minute and took it in. I was so ready. So ready to face Ganon and save her
My first though when I finished the game:
"Rauru you SOAB!
Once links character model drops below ganons dragon, it then programs zeldas dragon to seek link and grab him to just technically be a MASSIVE loop, on the grand scale. love it
The fact that he has 2 batteries means he probably didn’t like the depths
The real tears came out right after finishing the game… that is with what at the end you stay with… I got the same reaction and for me I believe that if you think it this way, you went through so many things with the character and Zelda, and you got into the game so much that it is impossible not to feel the story… all the things Link had to go through it was… a lot
This game is one of the greatest of all time
I tried to summon a cooking pot too when fighting Ganondorf :DD luckily I had 4 fairies since I completely made wrong food before the fight
Glad to see another grown man cry at this game lol. Masterpiece is right.
Honestly, you had the best reaction
I just noticed Dragon Ganon has a pig snout. Cool reference to pig form Ganon!
This has to be the best video game I have ever played, and this has got to be the best reaction to the ending ive watched
After the memories i had to beat the game day five. Its felt like such a long wait to get to see other people's reactions to this
Ok, if Silksong comes out this year, I will vote for it (if it makes it onto the Game Awards).
4:49:20 i didn't saw that, great one man
4:51:29 Robbie Williams would love this moment
5:34:44 Totk from the dark to the heaven
Legit reloaded before I died lmao
Then set my travel medallion and collected a bunch of sundelions 😂
Finale incredibile,miglior videogame di sempre

Lmao who needs revali's gale when you have a fucking rocket
True one detail that also corroborates the “home is where the heart is” thing is that In the Japanese version of this ending she says tamada (I’m pretty shure i spelled it wrong” but it basically is a great or something you say to someone when you return home but it’s only ment for someone that is close family or a lover since it is a sign or affection so it’s basically Nintendos silent way of confirming it also link smiles when Zelda says warm loving embrace so it only makes sense for it to be his “embrace” I’m just waiting for nbc to make one of his videos on this stuff
Who need revali's gale when you have pinecones XDDD
Honestly never felt the need for revalis gale in this game. There was always a possibility to go up in some way. Tulins ability is much more useful here. All the other botw abilities are still much better tho.
2:37:54 you can hear Fi's theme!
I have never seen someone figure out the puzzle at 1:16:15 so quickly. Infinite respect
Zelda will pick you up no matter what, you don't need to open the paraglider at all, just fall.
One of the more epic endings to a video game I've ever seen and I've been gaming for 38 years. Nintendo knows how to do it.
Ya know, i still wonder looking back how many people figured out that the heart erasing gloom attacks can be deflected with the Master Sword in a classic moment of Dead Man's Volley
You can hit his gloom projectiles so that they hit him.

Greatest Game of All Time: Complete
Yours is the best reaction I think Ive seen. A wonderful game.
5:11:50 Tulin arrives, and immediately gets dunked on lol!
The game should be name Tears of the People
i didn’t get the secret ending even after i waited the whole credits
You need to have all the memories including the first one
The real goty of 2023, baldurs gate my ass
Also, did anyone notice how much Ganondorf sounds like Daenerys at the end. "I was born to rule Hyrule, and..I..will." 😂
You've earned a sub my friend, honestly you had the same reaction fighting ganon as i did 😂❤️
