Nice bolt placement, but I hope they plan to tuck metal flashing behind the weather barrier on the wall. When anyone mentions "sealant" I get a pit in my stomach. Sealants can rarely be trusted as the primary defense against water intrusion, especially on a deck ledger. Watch some other videos till you understand.
As a Code Enforcement Officer I would fail this installation. A ledger should never be applied over Tyvek or other housewrap. An impervious product should be applied between the ledger and home to provide proper flashing. AVOID ALUMINUM and never depend on caulk to provide a seal. (Tip; a 3' roll of ice and water protection cut in half makes a great barrier.)
Adirondack Adventures . Newbie Here. On the ledger board , as long as I am to code. The ledger will only be conected to the home with the screws to the house . What I mean by that is that I do not need to find studs . Am I right ?
looking for the supporting piece- if the house was build accoring to code you should have LVL or another solid supportive beam over that basement window
Is there a video Missing between part 2 and part 3 on how to actually I attach a ledger board? Part 2 shows how to cut the vinyl and part 3 starts with the ledger board already attached to the house. Am I missing something? It's magically attached to the house at the beginning of part 3, showing nothing on how to attach it to the house. the title of the video is attaching a ledger board but skips the one step of actually attaching The Ledger to the house! There's got to be a missing video in between right? Shows nothing on how to actually attach it.
The sealant will fail some soon some later ,always use flashing with a ledger board to a house ,this deck will rot out quick! here you go ruclips.net/video/QkytQ6i2tPU/видео.html

This is a great video of what not to do
This deck is not to code. According to code and will fail inspection. You must flash the ledger. IRC 2012 R507.
