The cap frame is not made for the side or the back, although we've seen some customers get inventive with stabilizer such as OESD's Stabil-Stick or Floriani's Perfect-Stick and a clamp hoop. Hope that helps!
Just got my wide cap frame set up, did everything as to the manual and watched loads of videos but it's making a horrible sound and breaking needles, any advice please,
One thing to check would be to make sure the frame is calibrated properly when you first install, and then without installing the cap frame turn the machine on. If that doesn't work, try giving us a call at 1-888-897-6362 and we'd be happy to troubleshoot with you.
-Make sure that the frame is screwed on snu-gly. If it's a little loose, the machine may not be able to read it! If you're still having trouble, give us a call at 1-888-897-6362
Thank you for this tutorial! Do you have any advice for how to embroider on the side/back?

Thank you just thinking about trying caps
what styles of hat will this wide hat cap do?
This is best made for any baseball cap! It works great for the flat brim hats, but also works for the curved baseball caps and is even easier to hoop.
How close to the brim can you get a design?
You can stitch 6-10mm from the brim with this frame!
I have the PR 1050x and have never mastered how to use the hat hoop.
Very frustrating.
We do free machine usage classes! Give us a call and we can see if we can help you with that. 1-888-897-6362

I did all the proper setup, but my machine won't register the frame
