Jerry, this was an awesome informative video comparing these two products. I have the Gen 2 and was debating on the new flat brim. After watching your video and since my work is only for personal use I think I will save my money and just hang with the GEN 2. 😊you are an excellent teacher and I love your demonstrations as they are so detail. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your vast knowledge with us.
You are a life saver. I got the PR1055x in September and have been wanting to try hats. First of all the cap mechanism did not look like any of the videos I watched on RUclips except for yours, You did such a great job of explaining the whole system and how to attach,. Of course, the one video I watched did not show the 2 screws being used elsewhere and I could not understand why my design was straight up and only went as far as about 20 stitches. I took the whole thing apart and was frustrated. Spent another day trying to watch videos till I found yours, Thank you Thank you! Love your style and clear and concise directions. Your newest fan and subscriber.
Thank you soooo much for this step by step video this is the best one I've found on how to work the frame and embroider a hat. I just got my brother 1055x 10 needle and have been wanting to try to embroider on hats and I followed your video and was amazed how easy it was (I was scared and very nervous I was going to tear something up). I embroidered my first hat and now I want to do more. Thank you
this was so helpful especially because you made it easy to understand and didn't waste time giving info that pertains to doing what we needed to. Thank you so much
Wow! Thank goodness I found you! I’ll be watching this video again and again until I learn it well! But you have already reassured me that I too can hoop a hat! I don’t know about the extra gadget to fool the machine, but I’ll research it! I can’t wait to watch more of your videos! 😊 Do you have anything more current? (This one is from 3 years ago!) but still very relevant! Thank you again! Mrs Stanley from Oregon! Thank you.
Love your tutorial. I have the hardest time with my brim hitting the back of my machine. I have the gen 2 and the pr655. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I still can’t get as close to the brim as I like. I just purchased the new hat hoop along with a persona just decided for hats. So maybe I will learn this with the help of all these great tutorials.
Hi Jeana. In my experience with the Gen 2, I was able to get closer to the bill of the hat, as compared to the original hat hoop. With the Gen 2, I was able to decrease the distance by 0.25 of an inch. I could typically start embroidery at 0.75" above the bill. If I moved it any closer, I would notice the back of the hat would start to raise out of place, as the bill was pressing against the back of the machine. With the override clip and the new flat brim hat hoop, I am able to get much closer to the bill...even as close as 0.25 of an inch! Please let me know if you have any questions, as we all work together! :-)
Would the use of the override clip while using the flat brim cap system give a taller sewing area? The default from brother on all 3 cap systems is 60mm in height. However, ive noticed with the HoopTech Gen 2 cap system, they claim you can reach a height of nearly 4 inches. Assuming that this is achieved on the other brother hat systems via the use of the clip, it would increase the stitch height capabilities on the Flat Brim cap system as well. Also, thank you again for the awesome videos! I love your energy and overall presentation!
The override clip, while using the flat brim hat, "tricks" the machine into thinking you are embroidering on flat items, so the only limit would be dictated by your hat. I always do a trace of my design on the hat, just to make sure. :-)
Thank you Jerry I just got a new PR680 and the hat hoop was confusing me. I used to have an old Beraduan I think it was a 1990 model had to run it on windows 95/98. I think this new machine will supplement my old age pension checks.
Jerry thanks for the videos, very informative. I went to purchase the new hat hoop and notice two different models. There was a EPC4 and a PRCF5, both saying Baby Lock. Do you know the difference? I have a Baby Lock Enterprise.
Hello - I believe you have helped me understand several things better. One question tho -You didn’t say anything about taking the magnet off. I can not tell. can you please clarify? Thank you Jerry.
Thanks so much for this video. It’s the best! I have the Babylock Array, and I just purchased the new Babylock hoop set. Do you know if I can purchase just the override clip, or will I need to buy the Hooptech Gen2 hoop? If so, do you know if the Babylock driver and mount will work with the Gen2? Thanks again for the super clear video!
Thank you for your note! I am not sure if you can simply purchase the override clip from HoopTech. We recently added a third 10 needle machine, and I only had two override clips, so I just made one. I used a piece of small material, similar to a guitar pick, and drilled a hole in it where the screw goes that anchors the hat jig to the machine. I inserted the screw into the hat jig, just like you would normally, to connect the hat hoop to the machine, but the guitar pick was just enough to press down on the sensor. If you have any questions, let me know!
Hello I purchased the override clip to use on my Valiant 10 needle I followed your instructions on how to attach as well as the clip instructions. I can't get the hoops to appear at the top of my screen to be able to trick the machine that I am embroidering on a flat canvas instead of a hat Thanks
Hello! It sure would have been easier if we would have watched this video first instead of just the stock how to video of how to install the hat hoop! Anyhoozle, does Gen-2 sell the clip separately? Off to find a video to reinstall the A arm! Thanks for another informative tutorial!
I have Venture 10 needle. I’m not sure how to use the allen screwdrivers to make adjustments to the rings of the cap frame, and the height of the L shape bracket. Help would be much appreciated. Thank you. Love your tutorials. Informative and humorous
Hello do you know if I can purchase the overwrite clip only? I have the hat hoop in the video and another brother hat hoop for my brother 10 needle valiant Great video!! Thanks
Can you tell me the best place to get the override clip from? This video was super helpful and answered questions I didn't even know I had so thanks for posting!
Hoop Tech includes the override clip with the purchase of the Gen 2 hat hoop. I do not believe they sell the clip individually. I have seen videos of others using a binder clip to hold the sensor down, or even a guitar pick - just something to press down on the sensor. Hope this helps!
Hi Jerry, great vid ... I have a pr680w ... is there anyway to increase the embroidery X/Y parameters without using the override clip from the hooptech gen 2 hat hoop?
You can also make your own override clip! I have used a guitar pick - some have used a very small binder clip. With the guitar pick, I made a small hole in it for the fastener to go through - will be the left side screw that attaches the hat hoop assembly to the machine. The sensor is just to the right of this left fastener. The guitar pick, or similar item, will press down on the sensor. If you do not see the "hat" icon on the screen and you see the "hoop" icon, you are good to go. There is also a small sensor on the back of the hat hoop assembly that attaches to the machine. It is rectangular and has two small screws in it. You will need to remove the two small screws and the small sensor/magnet. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for this video. I was able to set up the hat frame. Question, there are to pieces that were in the box one 2.5mmx150mm and 3mmx150mm blue hand grips and black rubber piece. What are these for?
Jerry!!!!! I'm so happy I stumbled across your channel. You're an amazing instructor!!! I'm a subscriber! I absolutely love the ProX embroidery machine, best gift to myself!
Thank you for this tutorial, very clear instructions. Can you tell me if I need a special needle to use with this hoop? I am using the ones that came with my machine (PRS100) but they keep breaking.
@@mancaveembroidery Thanks. I'm checking in with my dealer because I must be doing something wrong since the needles keep breaking only when trying to embroider a hat.
If you are talking about the override clip, the clip will "trick" your machine into thinking you are embroidering on "flats", so you are not limited to the preset limitations from the hat hoop. When using the clip, please make sure and trace your designs. :-)
This is by far the best video on the hat frame set. Thank you for the easy step by step instructions. Question is the hooptech compatible with the Brothers PR1055x? Also can the over ride clip be purchased separately?
Hi Rose! Thank you for the kind words! Yes, the Hoop Tech is compatible with the Brother 1055. But....the Hoop Tech hat hoops uses the "wide" hat attachment, so you would need to purchase the wide hat hoop assembly that goes on your machine. The new flat brim hat hoop is not a "wide" hat hoop, so if you have the flat brim hat hoop, the Hoop Tech will NOT work without making additional purchases. As far as the override clip, I am uncertain if you can purchase it by itself. I have heard of people using a small binder clip, or even a guitar pick, to override the sensor. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
Thank you , Jerry. Great video. Do you know if it is possible to do other styles of hats on the new brother flat brim hat hoop? It’s the only one I have. It came with my machine. Wondering if it will work on regular hats and “dad” hats.
Great video Jerry ! We are using the pr1000e machine and I noticed that you are using the pro X model . We are wondering if that makes a difference in using the “ override clip” to stitch lower on the hat ? Also, we are unable to display the pattern on the hat while using the live camera . We are using the flat brim hat hoop. Thanks again , Roger
Hi Roger! I do not believe the PR1000e model had a live camera feature. I believe its only camera option is the "scanning" camera. The override clip will allow you to position so that you may embroider closer to the brim.
Hi Christy! Yes, you can use this hoop to embroider on the front of the pony tail hats. Unfortunately, I have not found a way that I can use this hoop to embroider the sides or the back of hats, so I use a different hat hoop for those areas.
Hey Jerry, how do I get my Brother EPro to do the same things you are doing with the EProx with the flat brim cap frame and hoop? Every time I put the frame on and use the little piece of metal to enlarge area for design; it goes to the side a little and I can’t center it. I can’t get it to go to the regular frames like you did. It stays on the cap frame picture; just looks like a bigger square area. I want the design bigger on the caps and can’t get it to work. Thanks.
Ok, My husband and I can’t find this information anywhere…but HOW does this flat brim hat hoop accomplish the lower embroidery? We have a Gen 2, I can get lower but like you pointed out, it raises the hat some and the bill hits the back of the machine. So how does this hat hoop do it’s magic?
Hi Kaci! From my observations, the new flat brim (or I believe they also call it the Universal hat hoop) is a completely new design, so the hats are hooped completely different. With the little trick of removing the "magnet" on the back of the hat jig, the portion that attaches to the machine, and using the override clip, I can easily start embroidering on a hat 3/8" of an inch above the bill. Due to the new design of the hat hoop, you can begin embroidery much closer to the bill, without any "raising" of the hat hoop, as you might experience on the Gen 2. The Gen 2 is a fantastic hat hoop, and it was my "go-to" hat hoop for years, but now the new hat hoop from Brother/Babylock is my definite "go-to", since I can embroider much closer to the bill of the hat without any issues.
Thanks for your note. You may want to check with your local Brother/Babylock dealer. There are also numerous other vendors that sell these products. Prices may vary from dealer to dealer.
I started off with the original wide hat hoop from Brother. Then I purchased the Gen 2 hat hoop. Hooping hats is made super-easy with their T-bar hooping system! It's a great product. Using the Gen 2, I was able to embroidery approximately 3/4 of an inch away from the bill, which is an improvement over the original wide hat hoop. Then I purchased the new flat brim/universal hat hoop. This is my go-to hat hoop due to the fact I can embroidery within 1/4 inch of the bill. The Gen 2 is much easier to hoop hats, but the ability to embroider closer to the bill is the "win" I was looking for with my embroidery jobs. Both great products!
Hi Jerry I have a pr600 and I am purchasing a Persona..would the over ride and the new hat frame work on these machines ? If so where could I purchase the hat frame and the override ? Thank u for any help you are able to provide..
I just bought this new machine baby lock array iam having trouble with it bird nesting under the hat and getting jamed I don't know if the tension is to tight and that why iam having such a hard time with it can you help me
What I might recommend: 1) completely unthread and re-thread it; 2) remove the bobbin and put it back in, making sure that the bobbin thread pulls easily. I have had a few bobbins were they were filled "too full", and there was tension on the thread coming out of the bobbin case; 3) remove the top cover of the bobbin area and clean it, removing any pieces of thread pieces; 4) change your needle. Keep me posted, please.
Sorry, just now getting your question...the flat brim, or universal hat hoop, cannot be used with the original hat hoop. The design of how it is hooped and how it attaches to the machine is completely different.
Before the Brother Flat Brim hat hoop came out, I had purchased the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop, and the clip came with the Gen 2 hat hoop. You might be able to just order the override clip from Hoop Tech. If not, I believe Kens Sewing Center may also carry a similar override clip.
Hi Jerry, I have the 1055x and bought the override clip for the PRCF4 hat hoop. However, because of the override and the machine thinks I'm hooping on a hoop. I found that when threading the needle, it would hit the plastic frame (clip on) of the hat hoop thus damaging my needle thread, had to replaced my needle thread. Also, when sliding the hat hoop to the side or moving it up, it the cap would get jammed. How do you deal with these? Thanks!
Hi Ben! As far as the override clip, where did you purchase it? Would it be possible to send a photo of your clip and when it is installed on your machine? When I change thread colors, I always do it BEFORE I place the hat onto the machine, just to avoid what you experienced. Also, before I install the hat onto the machine, I will move the carriage assembly towards the back of the machine. It will allow the hat more movement when you are placing your design on the hat. Then I can place the design on the hat without the possibility of the hat coming into contact with the back of the machine or getting jammed. Hopefully this all makes sense. :-) Let me know if you have any other questions!
I believe you "can" use the override clip, but due to the design of the original hat hoop, it may not make that much of a difference in getting closer to the brim.
Do you have the "new" Brother hat hoop? If so, I have a video on embroidering on one panel of the hat. Also, if you lightly steam or very lightly mist the hat with water, it will soften the hat just a bit, so you can hoop it easier. On the very stiff hats, I lightly mist the back side of the hat and let it sit for a couple of minutes before I hoop it. Just makes the hat a bit more pliable.
@@mancaveembroidery Yes, and I love the way it is so easy to hoop. As I have told you in my email, I appreciate all you do to show us how to use equipment and the little tips to get embroidery done on difficult surfaces and areas.
@@mancaveembroidery If I could, I'd send you the design I'm having difficulty with on these stiff structured Decky hats. My nerves are so frazzled...... LOL
Thank you for your note! If you are unable to locate an override clip, others have used a binder clip or even a guitar pick to override the sensor. With the guitar pick, they drilled a small hole in it, where the twist screw would go, to anchor the hat assembly onto the machine, and then the pick would press down just enough on the sensor to make work.
Maybe I missed it but what is the purpose of the Gen2 override clip? Is it for the back and forth movement? Does it let your go further with the embroidery left and right movement? I thought that the new Flat Hat Hoop was designed to get up close to the brim but doesn't go left and right very far. Hope my two questions make sense. Thank you
The Brother hat hoops have built-in sizing parameters for hats. The override clip "tricks" your machine into thinking you are embroidering on "flats" (regular hoops), so you are not limited to the built-in hat size restrictions. The override clip allows you to move your design closer to the bill of the hat. With the override clip, using the new flat brim hat hoop, I have embroidered designs on hats 1/4 of an inch above the bill.
Hi Shelly! Our Enterprise did not have a "live" camera, but it had a "scanning" camera. When we upgraded to our Valiant, it has the live-camera feature.
Hi! Jerry - can you explain how to add a patch to a hat using the flat brim hat hoop? What I have been noticing is the patches are sewn first separately then the patches are attached using an embroidery machine.
Hello!! I have the Gen 2 hat hoop and a PR1000. Is the portion of the hat jig that rotates the same as the Gen 2 model? Could I use the hat clamping portion on my Gen 2 fixture? Just wondering. If it would work, I could try to just find the hat hoop portion. Thanks, Ricky
Hi Rick! The Gen 2 hat hoop uses the "wide" hat hoop jig. The new Universal hat hoop, or Flat Brim Hat Hoop, has a smaller diameter hat jig, so unfortunately, they are not interchangeable. I have both, the Gen 2 and the new hat hoop. I much prefer the new hat hoop, but if I need to embroider on the sides or back of hats, I use the Gen 2 back-of-hat hoop, so I use them both, for different purposes.
You must purchase all of the new "flat brim" hat hoop in order for it to work. It is completely redesigned, as compared to the older hoops - entirely new way to hoop the hats.
@@mancaveembroidery I have the PR 680W. I don't think it has a live camera feature. The cap frame has a bit of a learning curve to it. I did another cap yesterday and it came out a lot better than my first two.
I have not tried using the override clip with the wide hat hoop. Just a guess, but I do not believe you would be able to move the embroidery much closer to the brim, just because of the design of the wide hat hoop. With the override clip, plus the new flat brim hat hoop, that is how I am able to move the embroidery to within 0.25" of the hat brim.
Isn't that a normal cap (not flat brim)? Have you had any issues using the flat brim with curved hats? I'm have the flat brim hoop and I'm having issues with small text on the hat.
The new hat hoop is all that I use now. I did have a bit of a learning curve on how to hoop the different styles of hats, but it is all that I use now, and it works great for all styles of hats.
@@mancaveembroidery Thanks for the reply. You might of saved me purchasing the other hat hoop. What do you do to get small print on hats? I'm having the print sink in. I've tried tear away backing and have heard I should use cutaway. Have to gone to a smaller needle? Using top stabilizer? Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
The new flat brim hat hoop does not come with the override clip. I found by combining the new flat brim hat hoop, plus by using the override clip, that is how I was able to get much closer to the bill of the hat - even down to 0.25 of an inch. The override clip "tricks" the machine into thinking you are using a normal flat hoop, so you are not limited by the built-in settings of the hat hoop into the machine.
You probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last few weeks xD
Just to clarify - does the hat assembly come off of the machine or does the "strap" portion (that goes above the bill) become loose and come off? Thanks!
Can you embroider just as low with the hoop tech as you can on the flat brim cap frame? I’ve got the old style cap frame and a hoop tech as well but with the 1050x. Has the back of the head changed the design at all where the Bill would usually hit?
I have three different hat hoops: the original hat hoop; the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop, and the new flat brim hat hoop. With the original hat hoop (without the override clip), the closest I could get to the brim would be about one inch. With the Gen 2 hat hoop (using the clip), I could approach the 0.75 inch mark to the brim of the hat. I found with the new flat brim hat hoop, along with the override clip, by combining the two, that is how I was able to get to 0.25 of an inch above the brim of the hat.
Hi Trudy. I am uncertain if you can only order the override clip from Hoop Tech. Other alternatives that I have seen would be to use a guitar pick, drill a small hole for the screw to go into, and the clip presses on the sensor - the same as the override clip does. Another would be to use a binder clip. Basically, just anything to apply pressure on the sensor. Hope this helps!
Hi Carrie! I contacted Hoop Tech yesterday, February 11, and I was able to purchase additional override clips. As far as pricing of the flat brim hat hoop, you will need to contact your local dealer or retailer as they set their own pricing.
@@mancaveembroidery - I am not able to find the override clip on their website. Did you just contact them to ask about it? Do you mind sharing the cost of the override bracket? thank you in advance!!!!
I mostly use Metro Pro and Floriani threads, and they work great for me. I have heard that each machine can have its own "personality" as far as threads. My machines were not big fans of the original Metro thread, but if I used a bit of liquid silicone on the thread, it would "tolerate" the thread a bit better.
Hi Shelly! The override clip was included when I purchased the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop. Unfortunately, I am uncertain if the clip may be purchased by itself.
I forget that my husband can make something like this for. He does custom stainless steel work all the time. You have made it easy enough for him to do that so thank you for your video. It was excellent.
Last night I tried to embroider using the new hat hoop and couldn't understand why it was crooked. Tonight I brought the hat hoop upstairs, watch the video again and realized I was put the piece that goes on the hat above the seam of the brim so it wasn't staying straight across the hat and it was way higher on the hat then it should of been. I'm so happy I figured that out. It makes the money I spent on it worth so much more. Thanks for the great tutorial
Great video, can you tell me where I can buy the override peace to put on my machine?
That’s what I need to know too!

The BEST BEST video ever!! Thank you so so much!!
Thank you! :-)
Jerry!!!!! I'm so happy I stumbled across your channel. You're an amazing instructor!!! I'm a subscriber! I absolutely love the ProX embroidery machine, best gift to myself!
Thank you! :-)
Thank you for this tutorial, very clear instructions. Can you tell me if I need a special needle to use with this hoop? I am using the ones that came with my machine (PRS100) but they keep breaking.
I just use my regular needles. :-)
@@mancaveembroidery Thanks. I'm checking in with my dealer because I must be doing something wrong since the needles keep breaking only when trying to embroider a hat.
Jerry! Awesome video!
Will this adapt to the wide cap frame as well? The 14” coverage?
If you are talking about the override clip, the clip will "trick" your machine into thinking you are embroidering on "flats", so you are not limited to the preset limitations from the hat hoop. When using the clip, please make sure and trace your designs. :-)
This is by far the best video on the hat frame set. Thank you for the easy step by step instructions. Question is the hooptech compatible
with the Brothers PR1055x?
I just got this set! Thank you for this video!!!
Thanks for the videos! I appreciate your enthusiasm and detailed reporting! Subscribed!
Keep the content coming my friend
Thank you! :-)
Thank you , Jerry. Great video. Do you know if it is possible to do other styles of hats on the new brother flat brim hat hoop? It’s the only one I have. It came with my machine. Wondering if it will work on regular hats and “dad” hats.
Yes you can! I have embroidered all styles of hats using the flat brim hat hoop. :-)
Thank you!
Can you embroider on the side of Richardson hat with this hoop? Can you do the fronts of pony tail hats with this hoop?
Thanks.
Will tbis hoop also do children's caps?
Loved your tutorial!
The video helped a lot! I have the PR670e what would I need to purchase to obtain the override clip? Thank you!
I received my override clip when I purchased my Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop. I am uncertain if they sell the clip individually.
Hi, can you please send me the information on where to buy these two hoops??? Thank you so much! I have the 10 needle 1050
Thanks for your note. You may want to check with your local Brother/Babylock dealer. There are also numerous other vendors that sell these products. Prices may vary from dealer to dealer.
So do you prefer the Gen 2 from hoop tech? I wish I knew there was another option! This one came with my machine.
Any Brother and/or Babylock dealer would be able to answer your question. Unfortunately, I am not that familiar with the Persona.
Thank you so much. This video/information is a life saver!
Glad it was helpful! :-)
Can I use the standard drive with the new at bill hat hoop. It has arms that the new driver doesn't.
Sorry, just now getting your question...the flat brim, or universal hat hoop, cannot be used with the original hat hoop. The design of how it is hooped and how it attaches to the machine is completely different.
Can you use this on Brother PRS100 love your instructions
Thank you for your note. You may want to check with your local dealer as I am not 100% certain - would not want to guess and tell you incorrectly. :-)
@@mancaveembroidery Curious to know if you've found out more details on this. The PRS100 is what I've got.
Great video!!! Can you tell me where I can buy the override clip?
Before the Brother Flat Brim hat hoop came out, I had purchased the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop, and the clip came with the Gen 2 hat hoop. You might be able to just order the override clip from Hoop Tech. If not, I believe Kens Sewing Center may also carry a similar override clip.
@@mancaveembroidery thank you!!!
Love your videos! So helpful!
Thank you!
Glad you like them! :-)
So we can’t use the override clip and get low on the standard hat hoop that comes with the 6/10 needle?
I believe you "can" use the override clip, but due to the design of the original hat hoop, it may not make that much of a difference in getting closer to the brim.
I have to embroider one panel on the front of a very structured cap.......Decky 6021 cap....... What is the best way to hoop it?
LOL
Does anyone knows how I can get that override clip? I have looked everywhere online …thanks in advance and great video btw
@@mancaveembroidery unfortunately I have not been able to find one yet, but I appreciate the tips so hopefully I can make one work and give an update
Can you tell me if the Babylock enterprise has the live camera view? I can't find it on my machine but it does have a camera. Just wondering
Hi Shelly! Our Enterprise did not have a "live" camera, but it had a "scanning" camera. When we upgraded to our Valiant, it has the live-camera feature.
@@mancaveembroidery Thanks for letting me know. I couldn't find it anywhere. I use the scanning a lot
Hi! Jerry - can you explain how to add a patch to a hat using the flat brim hat hoop? What I have been noticing is the patches are sewn first separately then the patches are attached using an embroidery machine.
Great suggestion! Thank you! If you have any other ideas or suggestions, please let me know! :-)
Estoy empezando y me falta comprar esas partes
Hi there, do you have any videos available for how to do a sun visor with this hat hoop?
Great idea! :-)
I have the older driver frame model # EPCF3 and want to know would this new frame work with it ?
You must purchase all of the new "flat brim" hat hoop in order for it to work. It is completely redesigned, as compared to the older hoops - entirely new way to hoop the hats.
Does anyone sell the modification clip by itself?
I need some help. I tried to embroidery a hat twice and both times, the design is quite a bit off center. What am I doing wrong?
I use the "live camera" feature to make sure my design is aligned, from the bottom of the design to the top of the design.
@@mancaveembroidery I have the PR 680W. I don't think it has a live camera feature. The cap frame has a bit of a learning curve to it. I did another cap yesterday and it came out a lot better than my first two.
Price for those pieces?
Hi Jerry, can you use the overide clip with the Brother wide frame hat hoop to sew closer to the brim?
I have not tried using the override clip with the wide hat hoop. Just a guess, but I do not believe you would be able to move the embroidery much closer to the brim, just because of the design of the wide hat hoop. With the override clip, plus the new flat brim hat hoop, that is how I am able to move the embroidery to within 0.25" of the hat brim.
Very informative thank you
Isn't that a normal cap (not flat brim)?
I just purchased the new flat brim hat hoop. How do I get my design closer to the brim? It currently stitches about one inch from the bottom.
Hey Jerry was wondering if you can let me know where to purchase this part at
The "override" clip was included when I purchased the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop. I am uncertain if they might sell the clip individually.
@@mancaveembroidery I was referring to the flat brim cap driver set not the override clip I have one of those already that came with my gen 2
I just subscribed!! Yay!! Great tutorials!!
You probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last few weeks xD
@Finn Atticus definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Is this the prcf5? I’m not sure how to search for this specific system.
Yes, that is the model number for the new "flat brim hat hoop".
I did this same set up, and I still do not have access to my camera, why is this?
Are you attempting to use the "scanning" camera or the "live camera"?
My hoop pops off the frame mid embroidery. I’m doing flat rim caps and having problems. Any ideas why it would be popping off?
Just to clarify - does the hat assembly come off of the machine or does the "strap" portion (that goes above the bill) become loose and come off? Thanks!
@@mancaveembroidery it comes off the machine.
Can you purchase the over ride clip by itself? or do you have to purchase the Gen 2 Hat Hoop in order to get it?
Unfortunately, I am uncertain whether the clip may be purchased by itself.
Jerry, have you used the Flat Brim hat hoop on a youth size hat?
I have not used it on a youth sized hat, but my first thought would be that it would work well. Please let me know!
I found with the new flat brim hat hoop, along with the override clip, by combining the two, that is how I was able to get to 0.25 of an inch above the brim of the hat.
hello can i purchase the just the override clip? Also when I watched the Gen 2 video it is not showing the clip included? Do you any recommendations?
When I purchased my Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop, it came with the override clip. Unfortunately, I do not know if the clip may be purchased by itself.
You didn’t say anything about taking the magnet off, it looks like you did, can you please clarify? Thank you Jerry.
Hi Patti, just curious but what magnet are you talking about? Thanks!
@@mancaveembroidery the one that is mounted on the driver from the manufacturer.
Can you order just that Clip??
How can I order the override clip for my machine?
The override clip was included when I ordered the Hoop Tech Gen 2 hat hoop. I am uncertain if you may purchase the clip individually.
Love your dog 😊
:-)
Hello! Are you able to purchase the override clip separately? Also, what is the cost of the new hat hoop? I own a 10 needle Baby Lock Valiant.
@@mancaveembroidery Hi Jerry, can you order it on the website?
Hi jerry, what kind or brand of threads do you use? I’m currently using the brother ones and i wanted to try the madeira but i’m intimidated
Can you just buy the override clip?
@@shellyjorgensen2441 hi there, i am new at hats but does your husband make the override clip to sell?
