In a true battle between the three, it seems like the Orta Hone Hone would wreck house. Too bad the Ctarl's signature overconfidence got the better of them. V.V
Yep, but the Orta Hone-Hone lacks manoeuvrability. It's a tough decision really. Geomancer vs. Orta Hone-Hone is like a thousand bees versus one big bug. :)
True. But I think that might be an oversimplification. That was the Geomancer plus back up and the Orta seemed to be demolishing not only the small ships, but also the back up frigates. Not to mention a single stray shot from them shooting randomly was enough to break the Outlaw Star's shields (a second shot would have done them considerable damage) and they knew at that range even without aiming the Orta would land one on the XGP (which is an incredibly maneuverable ship). If they were actually firing everything at the Geomancer or the Outlaw Star, it's unlikely either would survive. (At the very least in the case of the XGP, Gene noted that only by running through the cover fire of the Orta's shots would allow them to make it through the Kei Pirate swarm (and even then anything more than a single shot from the Orta would have seriously done them in). Even the crew of the Geomancer considered the XGP formidable and one of the men manning the helm was concerned about the Orta coming back their way. Not to diminish what either of the other two ships can do, but I think I would back the Orta pretty strongly if they had actually come for a fight instead of diving into the Leyline headfirst. Of course, I don't remember what the geomancer could do in a fight. It's been a while. - A totally not biased analysis.... .> It is I, Ctarl-Ctarl Empire btw It shouldn't be too hard to guess what I answered for that question in the quiz. I'm sure some would disagree, but I think I could make a strong case.
What's super bad about what's happening to the Ctral Ctral is that fact their hearing is 2x better than an average human which is like someone drilling your ear drums while pulling out your teeth one by one
The voice acting for OS was so good, I wish there was renewed interest in reanimating it with a consistent art style at some point. Maybe AI will be able to do it in a few years as a community project.
Every show is like that. When a show comes out weekly, they need to outsource to other companies to hit deadlines. This can lead to wild discrepancies in animation quality. Dragon Ball Z is also notorious for this.
@Jonathon Bartos DragonBall is a little different, they change animators moment to moment, putting greater animation on bigger moments. Outlaw Star is full episodes with one team
The Orta Hone-Hone looks like it would DEMOLISH anything in an actual airship battle! The right course of action for them should have been to actually battle The Outlaw Star (sorry Aisha, but sacrifices have to be made for the empire) as well as the Anten 7! Clearing out their competitors would have allowed them to battle assess how to handle entering the Leyline.
I think they changed in this scene for a reason. Maybe it signifies the mystique of the Galactic Leyline. Most of the time spent inside of the Leyline is animated in a yellow hue. I honestly love it. If the whole show had the same lighting and palette it wouldn't have left as much of an impact.
I have this on DVD but then bought the Blu-ray collection. I LOVED this anime and am glad it's getting the love it deserved!!
Good times back when this first released time flies

Oh fck 😵
1:39 The way I fell out laughing over this moment. Gotta love how MESSY Aisha is. She really just couldn't help herself!
The Ctarl Ctarl's best and worst trait is their overinflated sense of ego! Brute force works most of the time but not all the time.

Forgot what a huge chin Suzuka has
probably lazy animators 😆
Anyone else notice the animation team changes episode to episode? It's quirky
It'd happen a lot. It's a rarity nowadays, but it was a product of the time.

1:50 it's funny she says that when they left he penniless & starving when she was useless to them.
What happened with the colors in this show? It looks like it got changed.

@@OutlawMantis I mean I think the show got remastered or something, all the colors are more tinted.
