We're so acustomed to swordsmen, martial artists, magic users, and the like in anime it's almost unheard of for a main character to be a gun fighter. Even among Space Westerns, Spike mainly fights hand to hand and Vash only uses his gun when he absolutely has to. Gene meanwhile always uses guns and has a small armory of different guns depending on the situation. It's just so refreshing you know.
Imagine being a world class assassin who prefected stealth combat so well that you with a stick beats homies with a gun... Just to be taken down by a glare...
Kind of annoyed they never explain why exactly Suzuka fights using a Bokken and not an actual metal sword. Kind of feel like it was a missed opportunity to have her last fight force her to use a real sword and show how lethal her techniques truly are.
I would say that the deadliness of her technique makes the difference between using a metal or wood sword pointless. If anything it being wood would make it easier to defeat security protocols looking for metal weapons and plays into her assassin role.

I always loved the Gene Jim combo, both with their strengths & weaknesses but reliant on each other.
I love that its implied Gene got paid jobs by Lo(w?) is that Lo was down bad for Gene and Gene needed the money and put up with it lol
