I was talking to my coworker about Outlaw Star. Then this came out. Then I went to Hulu and started watching. I haven't watched it in like 15 years and I still remember the intro theme.
I LOVE the sci-fi/fantasy concepts and ideas in anime. So many are truly unique and out there, but I just don't have patience to watch the drawn-out drama of a single episode (let alone an entire series!). So thank you for these wiki-esque summaries! Ah, Outlaw Star, the 3rd member of the holy anime western trilogy of the 2000s. The other 2 being Trigun and Cowboy Bebop.
Actually this anime came out in Japan during the late 90s, not the 2000s. The latter just redubbed it.
