    Thanks for making this video! I noticed that there wasn't enough of the string in, so I straightened it out and re bent it and now everything's much more stable! It looks like it needs a bit of a clean as well, so that'll probably help! Good shout with the foam as well, I might have to steal that idea hahaha

      no worries mate! glad its helped ya. if ya know someone with an air compressor just give it a quick blow out, with the strings still on though. otherwise those little blocks that hold the string in just fly everywhere! Steal all ya want bud!

    When I use the whammy bar, the strings all go slightly sharp or slightly flat, depending on what way I go with the whammy bar. Esentially it’s the bridge not returning to the original position and having two “neutral” positions. I think this may be the problem.

    • @tactical_ninjas_8748

      I have the same problem, how do I fix this?

    • @jrg770
      @jrg770 3 года назад +1

      @smug If you use titanium studs, you will need a titanium plate. Mismatched hardness of metal between the studs and plate is the main reason for stud/knife edge wear.
      There are so many bad you tube videos on Floyds/Licensed Floyds , especially people who upgrade the trem/base plate to steel, but they leave the old posts, most likely zinc-alloy posts, which makes the upgrade useless in the long run.

    My solution was to “crimp” the strings at 1/8 of an inch, and to this having the guitars I own, the strings never pop out. The issue showed up on a Floyd Rose Special. For some reason, no matter what the string gauge (.009- .042) they pop out of the socket. That’s my fix to a problem I know longer have. All I had going was to think about it, give it a try, and it worked!! Good Luck!!

      Hmmmm ok, Im wondering if another spring may help. As for still going out of tune that can be a few things and without seeing the guitar is pretty darn difficult to diagnose. Could be something simple as strings not being stretched properly

    Excellent video!
    12:42 as a long time original floyd guy... I'm gonna say this now. Consider getting a Gotoh GE1996T.
    most recent original floyd roses since the early mid 2010s have been infamous for quality control issues, I've owned about 6 OFRs in the past 10 years and every single one of them has had some kind of weird ass fault, be it stripped set screw ferrules, stripped intonation screws, loose assembly between the block and the plate (thankfully an easy one), bad tolerances with the saddle blocks (one actually had one lodged in the saddle and could not be removed), and all kind of stuff. Floyd rose is quick to resolve these issues if you contact them but to be honest.. for a bridge that expensive these issues should NOT be happening, and ultimately I've given up on using floyd rose and began using gotoh GE1996T's in all my guitars. I haven't had a SINGLE QC issue with these gotohs and they hold tune exceptionally well and in general are more comfortable and better designed. This might solve your woes with floyds, it did for me and for once I don't find myself just getting annoyed chasing issues anymore with these.

    Someone on here should be able to help me figuring out the problem I am having with fine tuning. Here's my little dilemma I am having, Everytime it comes to fine tuning I run out of thread on my micro tuners. I'll get the the three bottomed high strings perfectly in tune first, then go onto the low strings. After I am complete tuning to a chromatic, I will go through the strings again, either their a tad bit sharp or flat. Now this problem don't stop till I run out of thread on my micro tuners. What do any of you guys think it could be. I changed spring tension more then I should've and tried numerous gauged strings. I'm so confused with my trem, anybody please help. The FR logo blocks come on both, as for the 28 underneath that would be the block size 28mm, I didn't know they made smaller then 32mm, that's the smallest size Floyd Rose makes, its probably 32 not 28. Sounds like a 1000, they are made from the same materials as the german one only made in korea. Its a good trem I have owned 2 of them never any tuning problems. They are hard to setup if you don't do them a lot. I can do it 15-20 mins.

    I feel like Over 75% of the problems occur because people DONT have a Real Floyd Rose....because most people can't afford a $2500 guitar brand new off the shelf. The majority of guitar sales are Under $600 Range....Companies slap cheap Knock-off Trems because that's what the Market dictates.....thus Floyd Rose gets a bad name in general.

    • @Snowy0123
      @Snowy0123 6 лет назад +1

      Mike Fu I agree. They get these "Froyd Roze "trems that are made with soft steel knife edges and out of spec parts. Then on top of that the people that complain about them are new players that don't even know the mechanics of a double locking trem. No idea that they're trem isn't supposed to be sunk into the cavity or straight up changing gauges without adjustment to the trem claw. A high quality double locking trem have hardened steel knife edges that are the same hardness as the posts so there's no dulling.

    • @slayerbear17

      Absolute Bullshit. I have 4 guitars which are all under $400 and have no problems tuning and setting up the trem systems. and keeping them in tune live gigging is easy. Problems occur because people dont do research, or just too lazy to perform work on their guitar. Floyd rose gets a bad name because people are too stupid to figure it out for themselves. You dont need a real floyd rose to fix your tuning problems.
