I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the respect paid for this burger joint we’ve been going to since I moved to Dallas 20 years ago. Looks like you nailed it. There’s gonna be a lot of happy people in Dallas when they see this. Great job, my friend.

I can’t help but make a testament to my own taste - I immediately recognized this place as one of the most iconic burger joints in America. Keller's on Northwest Hwy opened when I was in high school in the 60s. The 'Number 5' is one of the best burgers I've ever had, anywhere! In the late 70s, my ex wife was one of the 'Keller Girls', she absolutely loved working there. I loved it then and I still do.
Fantastic looking burger Greg. Everything a great cheeseburger needs, without the overkill. Love your choice of beer. It was started and brewed in my hometown, Latrobe PA, for many, many years. I was weaned on it. They sold out a while back and moved away from Latrobe, and even tho it's still a good beer, it's just not the same. The initial taste, and the finish are noticeably different from when it was brewed for so many years in Latrobe. keep up the good work Sir. Love your videos and recipes!!!
Almost lunchtime! I grew up in west Texas and lived in Dallas for 12 years after college. Whenever I was in that part of town I went to Keller's for lunch. Awesome burgers!

The pickle juice theory is used alot in the restaurants. But those are also commercial and stainless steel versus Blackstones cold rolled steel. The acids in that pickle juice will eat away the build up of seasoning on the Blackstone vs the clean smooth top on a commercial. I have been looking at some commercial griddles, i might pick up one for the garage. Love your burgers and creations you come up with. Copy cats are always fun too.
That's my idea of a good burger! Lettuce, tomato and some kind of mayo or other sandwich spread. Sometimes add onions and or pickles to mix it up. I love what you did with the poppy seed buns. That's something I'll have to try.
Greg I love you, love your passion and creativity and enthusiasm. I've never done any of the recipes but I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos Please never stop doing what you're doing
I just got back from a trip through Denver, Phoenix, and Vegas. Phoenix was interesting because I was close to Whataburger, In n Out, and The Habit. Of course only The Habit exists in my home state of Maryland. It's just too far away to make it a regular thing. We lost all of our Fuddruckers about a year ago. Anyhow, love the burger recipes and do a few of them from time to time.
Man, I grew up eating Kellers burgers. Get a burger and a 6 pack in your car (moms weren't as angry back then) I worked for Mrs Baird's Bread. Got to know Jack Keller pretty well before he passed. What a character! BTW, Jake Keller is the nephew of Jack. He started Jake's Burgers. They are also excellent.
Finally someone cooking with lean hamburger. I never use 80-20. 93-7 is my usual fair. I also use 90-10 buffalo for it's great taste. I am also going to start making my own poppy seed buns.... hopefully on my Weber kettle...thanks Greg
The Buns come up from a bakery over in North Dallas close to Mockingbird years ago and they also you something on the meat that you missed but I'll talk to cook about in 1980s but I won't elaborate on that very good job
I'm from Houston but currently reside in Garland. Keller's other location is 10 minutes away from home. Excellent hamburgers and very affordable. $1.75 domestic bottles is great too. I was wondering if you've done a Whataburger copycat. Texas iconic fast food. Made to order. Would be interesting to see you do one. Kudos Greg for another excellent video! Hope you are coming down next week for the World Championship BBQ Cook Off in Houston. Harry will be there. If you would like to come touch base with Harry. I'll have VIP passes for you. Cheers!
Been going to Kellers for 30 years. Harry Hines is a Special area and arguably the most iconic of the 2. There is another ICON called Goff's on Mockingbird Ln. Been there since 1950. I'd actually take your copy cat over Kellers. Goff's maybe not. Beautiful presentation!
Greg! Theres a local restaurant where I live that has a 2AM burger. It has a square hashbrown and a fried egg on it. It's amazing. The resturant is named rock bottom. Sounds like it would be an awesome burger for your channel! Cheers!
Great video and beer choice. From the glass lined tanks of Old Latrobe, we tender this premium beer for your enjoyment as a tribute to your good taste. It comes from the mountain springs to you.
There are about 20 amazing hamburger places I could mention in Dallas. The best of all of them is called Wingfields breakfast and burger. To say this place is a hole in the wall, would be complimentary. Huge greasy hamburgers, fries cooked in bacon fat. Unbelievable. I would like to see you make your interpretation of the best burger ever. Keep up the great work.
Awesome looking burger and the price at Keller's is a steal. Too bad you didn't get a chance to try P. Terry's here in Austin, it's a great value and a good burger too.
We used to use pickle juice or other similar things in McDonald's to clean the grills down at the end of the night, as a hack to get it really clean looking, the only downside is the next morning it would have a black metal tinge to the grill
Really loved this video, brother. Love the setting and the setup for the video with the footage of visiting the actual restaurant. You did a phenomenal job on that copycat as always. Cheers 🍻
I got a Blackstone for Christmas but haven't set it up yet seeing as im in a winter state. Would you consider doing a video on how you season and maintain your grill? And what steps you take immediately after a long cook
Greg I agree with the previous comment, you always pay attention to detail and I loved that you had Rolling Rock beer from Pa (where I’m from) and I did live in Ca for a few years and the rolls are just not the same but you seem to have found something close. I honestly couldn’t fine a good sandwich because of the roll, I’m spoiled out here just outside of Philly. Keep up the good videos!
That burger seemed pretty much perfect, though I avoid shredded lettuce since learning restaurants slice their onions on the same machine, thus coating all the lettuce in a fine mist of onion juice. I order leafed lettuce on my burgers because of that. Raw onion tastes good, but it causes an allergic reaction for me. Dallas is about a six-to-eight hour drive West of my home, so I may stop by Keller's on my way to IN-N-OUT BURGER one day. I previously lived in Los Angeles for 32 years before moving four years ago.
Those buns look awesome! If you’re looking for a suggestion for burgers in the future there’s an incredible burger shack in Brighton, Sussex UK. It’s called Trolls Pantry and the burgers are incredible the beef they use is locally sourced (Aberdeen Angus I believe) and it really shows. The Smokey Mountain burger & Fire mountain burgers are the two I’d love you to do copycats of if you can track them down

I live in north dallas and their burgers are ok. The last time I went the car hop looked like it really old truckstop hooker with missing teeth and she called me honey/baby three times.
