  • Details of a joint Israeli-Palestinian initiative to facilitate the two-state solution
    ..........................................
Israel’s former Minister of Justice, Yossi Beilin, and a former legal advisor to the Palestinian Negotiations Team, Hiba Husseini, in a joint interview discuss the concept they have created of the ‘Holy Land Confederation’ which is designed to facilitate a two-state solution.
In this 30-minute joint interview, they discuss the nature of the envisaged relationship between an independent and sovereign Israel and an independent and sovereign Palestine, how the Israeli settlers in the West Bank will be handled and how the Palestinian diaspora, that wishes to return, will be accommodated. They also discuss the future of Jerusalem and its status as well as the nature of governance in the two states as well as the concept of a joint committee to together handle issues in Jerusalem such as municipal planning, supervision of the holy places, the use of natural resources, etc. Dr. Beilin and Dr. Husseini also discuss the steps that they are taking to ensure greater support for their Hold Land Confederation concept from the Israeli and Palestinian people as well as from the United States and neighbours like Jordan.
I will stop there. This is a concept that earlier Dr. Beilin mentioned in one of his recent interviews and, just before that, it was also brought up by Prof. Omer Bartov. That was the background against which we felt it important to discuss this concept in greater detail and give the audience a chance to understand it.
Here is a link to the interview:

Thanks to this great effort. I really hope this proposition works. But getting Netanyahu out will not be easy. So much more pain and distrust to be endured.

Dear Karen Thaper- Can you do a story on the sufferings of Bangladesh Hindus, please? Hindus are suffering in the hands of Islamic Fundamentalists in Bangladesh and the government of Dr. Yunus is putting salt on the wounds! You are a renowned journalist, and I am sure your story will help the victims. Thank you.

The proposal sounds like a win win situation. But the world may have to wait for sometime to see a lasting peace between Israel and Palestine considering the presence of hardliners on both sides.
I pray that peace dawns sooner than later

Honestly Karan sir, this sounds like someone took the Oslo Accords and shat on them. This solution requires an overwhelmingly large amount of Israeli's to view Palestinians as human beings. The people who have written these solutions are some of the most educated people. But the average Israeli, and now - after the genocide - the average palestinian are full of hate and dehumanisation for each other. The sharing of land and economic resources is impossible. When these speaker say this solution will take time, they probably mean generations.

THE BEST SOLUTION WOULD BE THE LEBANON MODEL
A UNITED PALESTINE WITH A JEWISH PREMIER AND A MUSLIM PRESIDENT WITH PROPORTIONATE MPs AT HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The Zionism idealogy which dictate the US doesn't hold 2 state or united solutions, they're on the way to greater Israel which is impossible

    • @pervezalam1451
      @pervezalam1451 3 месяца назад

The actual solution is 50% North land should be given to Israel alongwith its capital JERUSALEM to the border of Lebanon & including coastal areas of Haifa And 50% South land should be given to Israel alongwith its capital TEL AVIV to the border of Egypt & Allat port including Gaza Strip. ---------- Israel would compromised with Palestine in exchange of GAZA STRIPS with JERUSALEM and coastal areas of Haifa. ( 50% North= 50% South)

There is also a religious aspect to consider, as the ideology of Christian Zionists in the U.S. supports the war, provides funding to Israel, organizes religious tours, and promotes a narrative that many believe reflects a form of indoctrination that needs to be addressed. This group also holds significant influence on U.S. politics.

The two state solution will never materialize because:
    1) The influential, like the US and UK will never want that to happen for their own personal reasons, otherwise it would have been sorted out after the Oslo Accords.
    2) The Israelis (Zionists) will never accept it, as it will be a hurdle to their Greater Israel project. Their intentions are very clear, as they have continued to push settlers in the West Bank, despite this activity being illegal in the eyes of the International Law.
    3) Due to trust-deficit on either side and a scar of over 75 years, it is very very difficult.
I will be very happy if I am proven wrong.

Its better if they try to exchange areas and relocate population like India and bangladesh did, so that they have their own identiy as a nation. Only in this way peace can prevail.

There should be one state solution for a democratic state in which Jewws Muslimm and Christiannns live side by side, all the displaced muslim and Christiann Palestinianns should be allowed to return, but I fear the Zionissst won't agree to that.

Annexation, compensation is most critical in people's lives but definitely Israel will try to sideline Palestinians worse than, what we have seen around the world.
Israel has always asked for more and more, they never satiate with the situation but love to complicate but Palestinian haven't much choice but we need to start and agree on something to negotiate further, perhaps this is the idea.

I do not think it is going to work. This is at the worst and academic exercise in AC rooms and at the best a time buying tactics by Israel State. This solution will never ever work..Never Ever. There is a huge mistrust on each other and the 2 have different concepts and plans. Palestinian consider Israeli as occupying force and Israel thinks the whole land of Arabia belongs to them.. the best solution would be to tell all Jews who migrated to Israel after 1947 must leave that territory and find a refuge somewhere else..All Palestinians must be allowed to return back to their homes...
