October 7 marks the one-year anniversary of Hamas's attack on Israel. As per the latest estimate, Palestinian health authorities suggest that Israel's subsequent ground and air operations in Gaza have killed over 40,000 people, predominantly civilians, and approximately 2.3 million people are displaced from their homes, Reuters reported.
Saeed Naqvi is a well-known Indian journalist and TV commentator. He has interviewed many famous world leaders, including Nelson Mandela, Fidel Castro, Benazir Bhutto, Mikhail Gorbachev and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Dr. Waiel Awwad, a Syrian-born journalist, based in South Asia. He has covered numerous wars and was captured in an ambush during the American invasion of Iraq in 2003.
John Cherian is a renowned expert in International Relations, geopolitics, and strategic affairs, with a specialised focus on the complex dynamics of South Asia.

IIt's important to highlight that many Arab and Islamic countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Egypt (puppet army general), and Jordan (puppet king) have remained relatively quiet on this issue. In contrast, it's the young people in Europe-regardless of their backgrounds, whether Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or Hindu-who are actively advocating for the rights of Palestinians.

World is united in condemning genocide. Efforts to stop it have not succeeded. Why?
In the civil world, humans recognising and respecting fellow humans on the basis of their rights to freedom and justice should be the norm. Human, humanity and civil world are not sensitive enough to the atrocities committed on animals and environment etc. They should.
In the present day world there are muslims and non muslims. The muslims of the world are condemning the war going on in the Middle East, with rare exception if at all. In the non muslim part not all are condemning the same war beyond expressing sympathy or little concern. And they make significant proportion of the non muslim population of the world. They are non jews. They may not make the majority and they are sceptical about taking sides despite knowing the facts of the war fairly well.
Such people are decently educated, well informed, seriously pursuing to be good in life, never involved in violence or held extreme positions/ views about anything in life including politics. They are not afraid either. But they generally do not approve of use of undue force, denying the rights, hatred, crime, law breaking, disobedience, unsafe behaviour, shunning hardwork etc. As mentioned already they have not condemned the war, they are sceptical and chosen to stay away from the issue.
• The question is, are these people in the wider world Uncivil?
The very same people are used to show the same response to all those events happening regularly in the Islamic world among the muslims. These are going on for decades. Civil wars, genocide, war crimes, bomb blasts inside the mosques is being reported commonly from the muslim countries - Yemen, Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Bdesh......Conflict between muslim majority and other minorities is not considered here. Purely muslim Vs muslim.
Importantly reactions and actions by the muslims worldwide, by the societies and the govts, towards the events of violence by the muslims against fellow muslims is either inconsistent or just silence. Surely there are educated, well meaning, pios and genuinely secular people who qualify to be Civil Citizens. They are in good numbers too allover the Islamic world.
• Why Civil Muslims do not condemn violence by the fellow muslims against their own comunities?
These 2 questions beg answers from the learned and dignified scholars on the subject.
Analysing the subject in terms of the parties directly and indirectly involved in the war in different roles is needed and valued. They do not focus on solutions but argue for a favourable outcome that would show each party in the war being legitimate while the adversary is unlawful and inhuman.
India had fair share of past experiences in the form of Mumbai terror attack, Hijacking / bombing of aeroplane by the terrorists, Numbers of instances of bomb blasts mostly masterminded and executed by our own citizens.
• Recent reports from Bdesh of violence against law abiding, unprotected minority civilians is very disturbing to all common citizens. How are they expected to respond to a war that is taking place faraway? Will they not compare with Bdesh or Pakistan? They are aware but they don't care because they want to live peacefully for the future of their children.
Sporadic lynching of just a very few minority muslims by random criminals is not celebrated in India by any community. Every civil citizen condemned it and took it as a shame upon oneself. Shockingly such incidents are amplified in international media and social media to look as if in India, targeted lynching of minority muslims is common, frequent event happenning openly everywhere while the culprits go unpunished. This has gone to the extent of naming India as fascist. This is not expected from the valued minority citizens of India living in India or abroad.
Govt response initially on the Gaza war was a departure and it was atoned subsequently officially by the actions of the Ext Aff Ministry in the UN and in various international forums. Not standing by the violence has been at the heart of India's foreign policy consistently since independence. That continues.
Interesting days ahead. Good time to speculate.

Except for one session on the difficulties concerning the rise of women, women are ALWAYS either absent or in a strong minority position in all the other shows. It's astonishing to note the obsession of skewed minded people with Gaza and Israel, including this panel।
All people are utterly oblivious of the terrible conditions prevailing in Sudan ,Syria, Somalia ,Syria Sierra Leone,Yemen ,Burkina Faso , Niger, CAR and many other impoverished Muslim nations। One reason could be that in these countries the oppressors and the oppressed both are Muslims hence considered an in-house affair।
