I used to work at the Iroquois Falls airport and stayed at the Myna back in 1989. Nice place in the summer but kind of dreary in the winter. Met some great people up there though.
Magnificent catches of the trains coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work ,my friend, liked and subscribed, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
18:55 When they are leaving Rouyn Noranda our former grocery distribution center. Sold to Sobeys in 2006, they since closed it and I believe it is a paper towel fabrication centre. My mother in law apartment in the background at rail overpass in Rouyn. Top floo corner unit, you can clearly see mount cheminis from there
I’m honestly not even sure what it is anymore. There’s still a Sobeys sign on the south end of the building but the rest have been replaced by whatever other company.

So it's because in 2013 Ontario northland had passenger service and were needed because there was more than one train a day going up the line now it's basically the same train about 3 or 4 times a day
Those gondolas haul a mix of mostly copper extract but sometimes a little bit of nickel depending on where it comes from. It all goes to the Horne smelter in Rouyn to be processed.
This was a brilliant watch. All thanks!
Thank you!

I had a job hauling hay near Porquis. Once I was stopped at a crossing, I looked in the locomotive and noticed my dad was in the drivers seat.

Terrific film of the ONR action. And what a neat surprise to see ex NS in the mix. James.
Thank you James, glad you enjoyed it
I used to buy my ticket in Porquis Junction and flag the train down in Monteith.
I love this ! Thank You for the video !! From USA. It was many years ago I was in North Bay. Thanks again !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video , nice seeing the different colour schemes, the first train looked to have been a a heavy drag.
Thank you! The reason why 214 had all those engines was because they were dropping two in North Bay for maintenance.
How many SD40-2s are still in that green scheme like 1730? Love the video!!
No it’s only 1730 that is wearing the heritage scheme. It was painted in 2020.

How many high nose GP 9 units are still working on the ONR ?
Is ONR 'S Star trucking still going in kirkland lake ?
Great video I was about to ask you about the dark signals on the onr as well I think they have been that for years
Thanks. On the main ONR has discontinued the use of signals but they still use a pair of them at Rouyn Noranda as they share a diamond with CN
They should soon be up and running again soon as ontc is getting the northlander back in 2026
Do they use SD70M Flared units?
Yessir ONR purchased 5 Ex NS SD70m’s and now they power a good part of the mainline freight out of Englehart.
Нравиться как шуршит трава,ветки на деревьях,а Онтарию это озеро,вроде оно в Канаде ,правда это?
Yep the Ontario Northland Railway runs on the Ontario and Quebec side of Canada.

Really enjoyed your video and it wasn't too long IMO. Question though, the signals are dark, did they turn them off? Does ONR have PTC now?
Thanks! No ONR doesn’t have CTC anymore and it’s not looking like it’s coming back. The signal in Rouyn is for the diamond shared with CN.

May I ask…what’s in the covered gons?
Those gondolas haul a mix of mostly copper extract but sometimes a little bit of nickel depending on where it comes from. It all goes to the Horne smelter in Rouyn to be processed.
Very Nice Video!
Thank you!
What is being carried in those covered hoppers?
They carry copper extract for the Horne smelter in Rouyn Noranda

The GO cars are in North bay for refurbishment at ONR’s Shops
