      I never could understand why some wear shoes inside the house. I was raised not to. My mother explained it one day. I asked her why some don't? She said, there's so much stuff on the ground thst you may or may not always see. Dead bugs/insects, bodily fluids and feces of all sorts (human or animal), automobile fluids, food & drinks, plain old dirt, gum, etc..... I've seen really nasty stuff on the ground. Even if you don't walk through it, there's residu. Not to mention, it's not comfortable to wear shoes indoors. It feels odd to me. Makes washing floors and small area rugs etc really dufficult. I've seen some put their feet on furniture, with shoes on. Crazy!
      People know to take off their shoes when they come here, or they don't come in.

      Some people are more comfortable with them on. It's a personal preference and has a lot to do with how you're raised. I wear mine all the time indoors, just more practical as I'm in and out and more comfortable for me. Since people have been big into removing them, they end up wear poor shoes like flip flops because they want something easy to take off. Kids never get used to shoes and socks because they hardly wear them. Also any foot doctor will tell you that walking on hard floors which most have these days is bad for your feet.

      Instinctively you already know it's rude to ask a guest to remove any part of the wardrobe off. My advice is to get away from people like that, believe me in the long you'll save yourself from a lot of trouble. These anal-retentive tendencies go deep with other matters. They care more about material things than they do people. It would be really easy to get a shoe-cleaning doormat but instead, they have the nerve to undress you. There are also some mats with solutions in them that disinfect. Easy to find and get but even so they rather embarrass you. These people are not smart at all and people that take off their shoes are on the same level. If anyone invites you to their home and then asks you to take off your shoes, just leave.

  • @GlobalVibZ-uw9sn

    I think habits have changed a lot over the last years, even in countries that were previously not known for shoes off policies at home. Nowadays, almost everyone is ready to remove shoes, and it's quite natural for the younger people. And even newer films and tv or better streaming shows start to adhere to that practice. It might be healthier than confining your feet in shoes for most hours during a day. Apart from that, we will not stop bacteria. They are everywhere on our skin and even inside us and often necessary to a healthy organism. But the problem is likely to be pollutants like lead and other stuff that we might track into our homes if we do not take off our shoes, I think.

      I ask all my guests to remove their shoes. I provide clean slippers or socks, a bench, and always a warning before inviting anyone. If you don't want to remove your shoes we'll hang out in my entryway. If someone comes in with their shoes on, like my landlord, I use the carpet cleaner and mop after he's gone.
      I also don't judge anyone who chooses to wear shoes inside their house. Your house, your rules. You're the one doing the cleaning.

      Sandi Hackett I’m so jealous of people without carpet. I rent so I can’t change that where I live right now. But if I didn’t have a carpet, I would be way more relaxed with guests since I could sweep and mop afterward.

    • @sandihackett3849
      @sandihackett3849 4 года назад

      @@AMA080809 I rent also, but was lucky enough not to have carpeting which I have never liked. I know of other rents that are now tearing out carpets after tenants leave because of cleaning issues. I feel carpeting does not clean deep down and when you rent, God only knows what's down there. I have a small dog and if she has an accident on the floor, which does happens now and then, I can mop it up, disinfect the spot and it's good to go!
