- For months, the UN and aid workers have warned that Somalia faces famine; with some saying the conditions are worse than during the 2011 crisis.
However, no one has made an official declaration.
7.1 million people face immediate danger because there is not enough food.
So what is preventing an official famine announcement?
And would it make a difference on the ground?

Somalia this time has Suffering severe droughts for years, We also facing youth Unemployment 70% Somali young men and women are jobless, and world Abandoned Us This worst situation in decades.
Your fellow Somalis on this platform say it’s a western propaganda,Somalia is doing fine and should be left alone! My view is that Somalia is a member of the international community and deserves support like the reach out now Ukraine or Yemen .

The first time I heard about famine in Somalia I was a little girl.....(50 years ago). So this isn't new.... maybe what they need is birth control.
When I was a child, I trick-or-treat (halloween) for UNICEF, to collect donations to feed the starving people in Africa. The USAID, UNICEF, PHILANTHROPIST have failed Somalia. Billions of dollars have been allegedly appropriated for Somalia. However, there is no evidence of the benefits received from the appropriated funds. The median age in Somalia is 16.7 years. The western nations are exploiting the YOUTHFULNESS of SOMALIA with death and destruction. The median age of the European Continent is 42.5. The median age of the North American Continent is 38.6. The fertility rate for the European Continent is 1.61. The fertility rate for Somalia is 6.12. The FAMINE in Somalia is PLANNED because of the high fertility rate compared with the dying/ ageing out of existence western cultures.

Yes ,famine should be declared and the somali people needs to be given humanitarian support by the international communities and the cyclic droughts are getting worse due to the sky rockeing price of the food by the war in Ukraine and the condition is worse than the 2011 drought which was a catastrophe to the somalia people, in General it is too late to ask for famine declaration and this should have been done earlier for the people to be saved .

The SOMALIAN's are poor because of the policies imposed by the United Nations. The embargo on charcoal is being implemented to ensure the impoverishment of the Somali people. The policies on FISHING are in place to make sure the SOMALI people do not have food.
There is a cumilation of humaniterian aid/food aid malnutration in somalia baydowa and other storing camps for famine prepardness stored since months.but peoples are systematically dying from hunger than timely distribution aid to the oeople. This is find a loop to interference to the areas where already crises creared and trained alshabab and associated insurgents enter the area in the name of/after humanitarian agencies and to extended the crises to the neighboring countries.

US Africom and their partners need to LEAVE Somalia. The international community are doing everything within their powers to keep SOMALIA devestated. Why? Somalia has beautiful beaches. The WESTERN POWERS desire to own the beaches of SOMALIA without having to share the beaches with the SOMALIAN people.
