I just loved that too! :) I found they were REALLY underutilized in the movies, they were a great at that stuff in the books, they should have had more stuff in the movies. In 5 being a thorn in Umbridge's side until they blew out of there spectacularly... And they shouldn't have skipped Peeves The Poltergeist, it was so great when the twins' parting shot was to instruct him to give her hell, the first instruction he ever followed, LOL!
I honestly didn't catch that for many years! I mean I heard them saying it, but the realization of them always being identical anyways bc they are twins totally slipped my mind and idk why... ahahahaha!
Fun fact Alex: One thing you didn't mention is that the locket was actually messing with Ron's head, which caused Ron's outburst, hence why it showed all of his insecurities!

@@noamekonent3635 Well...he kind of was in the movies. He literally was useless except for one moment compared to the book where he has a role to play other than "Jealous BF".
Someone's probably already said this, but the reason Bill and Fleur got married then was actually to give a little light to people before the storm and because it was then or potentially never. The books even discuss how Arthur and Molly got married in a similarly quick fashion during the last war with Voldemort because they didn't know how long they were going to live fighting in the Order against the Death Eaters. Similarly, LOTS of people were getting hitched during the WW eras before they got deployed for the same reasons.
@@dilberthigh They shouldn't have to be ashamed that they're getting married at a time when things are darker. And they didn't even have a big wedding, they just have a lot of family and friends. And the Burrow was considered safe until the Minister of Magic was murdered that night. There's no reason why they shouldn't have been allowed to celebrate and enjoy life when they can carve out a bit of joy.
@@katymartin9026 it isn't about being ashamed. It is about not being stupid. Having a big party where the order and harry are is stupid. Have a smaller wedding and throw a big party when the risk of assassination is gone.
@@dilberthigh In the books, "Harry" isn't even there. He drinks a polyjuice potion to be a Weasley cousin the whole night. The Burrow also DID have the Fidelius Charm on it. They took a lot of precautions to make it safe. The Minister was murdered and "With the full strength of the Ministry behind them, the Death Eaters broke the protective enchantments protecting the Burrow" - the house was protected, just not enough for the literal magic government turn on them. That's not something anyone would've reasonably predicted would happen.
I liked Hedwig's death more in the movie. The filmmakers realized that Hedwig dying trapped in a cage and being a helpless meat shield for Harry was a pretty cruel way to go. Harry instead setting her free only to have her choose to defend him was solid.
I like it better too. I know JK just wanted to be like "Yeah, this is serious shit now, even defenseless ones you grew to love will die." but it's dark enough with out that.
4:22 In the book the actual Harry riding with Hagrid is explained as a tactical decision by applying reverse psychology, exactly because the broom would be the obvious decision. If they were to get chased by the Death Eaters, they would more likely assume the real Harry to be a decoy.
It's also incredibly obvious that he'd be with Hagrid, also like Alex mentions, they stand out so much compared to everyone else Also had Harry been alone on a broomstick, he could've easily out flown Voldemort
It's also explained that the whole thing was Snape/Dumbledore's idea. Snape Imperiused Mundungus to have him tell the Order the idea of the seven Potters and present it as his own idea. He gave Voldemort the right date so it wouldn't look too suspicious, but not the right target.
For me, I found Fred’s death to hit the hardest. He and George had this whole plan to run a joke shop, and to have that ruined because of his death, I can’t even imagine how George felt. He lost his twin. His best friend. They were practically inseparable throughout the entire series. Plus the fact that we basically grow up with them as characters. I heard that after the battle of hogwarts, George went on to running the joke shop by himself (and Ron would sometimes come in to help). Also that he named his child Fred after his twin. Likely one of the most heartbreaking deaths beside Snapes.
Yes people cry a lot at Dobby's death and yes it was heartbreaking. But Fred dying was just inexcusable. Everytime I re read the books, I cry at his death because of the reasons you mentioned. They were so integral in the books. And then I had to read all the tumblr posts about it. Honestly, most heartbreaking death ever. ( Colin Creevy and Lavender Browns death were painful too)
The death of Fred is barely mentioned in the movie and the emotional reaction is completely ruined. It was like "oh yeah, by the way, Fred also died, just letting you know, bye" and they were already off to the next scene.
The way Dobby sideglances for a sec before saying "of course, I'm an elf" made me think he was going to immediately follow that up with "you dumb idiot".
@@asimhussain8716the first movie was fine. Then a bunch of writers that weren’t as good as the original tried copying his style and made a damned mess of it, making all the jokes the same and the characters the same.
TRUE! they didn’t do a good job at showing how good of friends he and Harry were. And they didn’t include everything with Dobby and Kreacher nearly enough.
True. My sister who actually read the books cried the first time we watched that scene. I, who didn't read the books but watched the rest of the movies, got sad but I didn't cry. It was a heart wrenching scene in of itself but it wasn't impactful enough for me
@@nickynicks_ yeah it's worse if you don't read the books before the movies. Cos SPOILER ALERT Can't remember if it's the 3rd or 4th book, but Dobby appears in one of those books
Yeah, that and the line “ I… I… I don’t want to die! I want to stay here…” from Pandora Hearts, are quotes that never fail to make me cry, I even teared up while writing this comment, I’m not joking.
Despite him not existing in the movies and rather than keep writing him out they did the trope I despise where they bring a character back just to kill them
And how they forgot to add Mundugus to the scene, and then we have Bil commention on how Mundugus fleed as soon as he saw Voldemort leaving Moody to die alone?
Loved it, just a few reminders: 1. The broom thing was explained in the book. Everyone knows Harry's good with flying on a broom so they figured putting him on one would be too predictable and he would become an obvious target since Voldemort would expect the real Harry to be on a broom 2. The sword wasn't missing since the first movie, it was in Dumbledore's office for years. When he left it to Harry, I think the ministry took it for examination? But it was still in Hogwarts, now in Snape's office, till some kids tried to steal it and so he hid it away but actually he hid away a fake one and left the real one for Harry to find (correct me if I'm wrong I don't exactly remember how it got swapped) 3. RAB didn't leave the fake locket hoping to trick Voldemort! In fact he left a note in it essentially saying "this is fake, I have the real one and I'll destroy it asap" as a way to show the finger to Voldemort and saying "hah! I figured out your secret!" But of course he never succeeded and was eventually killed. Sorry for being *that* HP nerd 😅😂
It's been a bit since I read the book, but if I remember correctly, Dumbledore instructed Snape to switch out the swords on Dumbledore's death and hide it away until it was needed (they discussed it when they made the plan for Snape to kill Dumbledore in order to break the ownership lineage of the wand.) The fake was sent to Bellatrix's vault. When the kids were brought to the mansion with it in tow and Bellatrix tortured Hermione, one of the things she asked repeatedly was how they stole the sword from her vault.
You’re just weak if you cry over a fictional characters death, I’ve read Pandora Hearts three times and I… I am also weak ( T-T ) lol. Also, yeah, Dobby’s death scene was so sad 😞
@@englishatheart You felt more for a pet owl than you did for a freed slave who spent his last years and moments risking his life and expressing gratitude towards our main character for freeing him?
i remember watching The Goblet of Fire and being very disappointed that they used Neville to give Harry the gillyweed instead of Dobby. that change just didn't make any sense to me
As for the "secretive" will of Dumbledore. He knew the ministry would comb through every single word of it and had to encode the instructions in order to keep their "find-and-destroy-the-horocrux"-plan hidden from Voldemort. He only put the sword into his will to hint at that they will need to find the sword in order to kill a horocrux. He never actually meant to just give it to Harry. Especially because the sword had to be earned rather than be given.
Why didn't Dumbledore simply leave the stuff he wanted Harry to get in a box with McGonagall with instructions to give them to Harry if he dies? Why involve the ministry at all?
@@matthewpatrick7263 I mean, technically Dumbledore did just that. He gave Snape the sword with the instructions of giving it to Harry when he dies... And that's what Snape does as soon as he finds out where they are camping. Remember, Harry follows the Doe into the woods to the Lake, thinking it's his fathers Patronus. But it's actually Snape's.
@@sarahtaavetti No he didn't, Harrey knew very well since the events of the Prisioner of Azkaban tha he shared the same patronus as his father: a stag.

The ending was epic af. How voldemort gets the elder wand and shoots that lighting into the sky. The music, how it was shot, everything was so good done
I have to give JK props for giving unapologetically evil villains. Voldemort is top tier villain rather than misunderstood villains anyday. His motives are clear from day 1.
@@LittleClay eyy, i don't think so, i mean not like those villains who were once real human people, but wronged by the society & circumstances stuff. I wish they made trilogy or mini series with TR 👑
It was not Mundungus Fletcher that ratted them out regarding the 'Battle of the Seven Potters'. It was Snape on the order's of Dumbledore's portrait, who had to do so in order to keep his position as spy for Dumbledore. However, the Order was originally planning to move Harry from Privet Drive without the Polyjuice disguises, so Snape Confunded Mundungus and made him suggest the plan to the rest of the Order to protect Harry just a little more.
The reason Harry travels with Hagrid is that he is, as you said, the least experienced, which means its least expected that the real Harry Potter would go with Hagrid. Also in the first movie Hagrid brings Harry in the same motorcycle to the dursleys to keep him protected and he is doing it again one last time, as if to complete the circle. How well thought out!
Also Hagrid is half giant. Giants have natural resistance to spells and curses (I can’t remember exactly but their skin is thick or something?) Unlike the others Hargrid can take a few hits before he’s out so even if he can’t use magic he has a fast motorcycle and a natural shield and that’s all Harry needs to get to the Weasley house (until Voldemort attacks of course)
Right, it was a strategic move. It's also a known fact that Harry is highly skilled on a broom, so it would be least expected that he would take the motorcycle
Friendly reminder that the motorcycle originally belonged to Sirius Black. Hagrid borrowed it to deliver baby Harry, but since the little tyke's godfather was sent to Azkaban he couldn't exactly return it. So it's like Sirius was protecting Harry as well from beyond the Veil.
It should be noted too that Hagrid CAN use magic - he's not particularly good at it because he was expelled from Hogwarts in his third year and so technically never finished school, but he can use magic. He has a wand. It's hidden in his pink umbrella.
Here’s a theory: Wizards enslaved them because the where so powerful but over the decades wizards forgot their true power and now just think of them as creatures who are naturally just servants.
I'm extra sure that's exactly why house elf culture is trained to want to be subjugated or not really think much of it provided they are treated relatively well. There are real world parallels in cases of slavery/servitude in which someone adjusts and becomes close with the family/master and doesn't want to leave even if they are freed. It's actually apart of training when dealing with real life cases of slavery today as a form of stockholm syndrom. It's a well known problem. If I remember in the books correctly, Hermione was frustrated that the house elves of Hogwarts didn't seem that interested in being freed, or at least some of them weren't because they were treated nice enough. I think lots of older wizards and witches knew very well how powerful house elves were, but developed them into being subservient and bound to their masters. They are absolutely OP in their connection to magic and use of it.
You are overestimating JKR here. She wanted it to be a metaphor for real world slavery but botched it so badly, the fandom swoop in and we collectively created this head canon about how the house elves were powerful, actually. They're not.
13:37 Anyone else find it funny how in this scene, Harry pretty much cowers in fear when Hermione directs her anger at him, I mean, wow. “Hey Harry, what do you say to facing dragons and other random crap?” “Sure, ok.” “Voldemort?” “Oh, let me at him!” “Angry Hermione?” “OH GOSH NO! I DON’T WANNA DIE!!!”
@@Znegil Seriously, I get that nostalgia glasses are strong but once you start thinking about this series critically is just... why I wasn't reading better fantasy books instead when I was a kid, you know?
The movies look good, but literally every critique he had of the story not making sense was answered in the books. Why wasn't Harry on a broom? Because he's the best flyer. That's what Voldy would expect. Why is Ron moody? Because he wore the locket more than anyone and was getting manipulated by Voldy's soul bits. They just left so much storytelling out of the movies that it's just like, "And this happens now." Edit: also the wedding being tone-deaf is directly addressed.
As for the Locket thing: Regulus, Serius' brother, was a follower of Voldemort until he wasn't anymore. I don't think Regulus knew that there were 7 Horocruxes. He just thought there was the one and he was so smart for figuring it out. He wanted Lord Voldemort to know he was the one who bested him. He used Kreature to get it and that is how the locket got into Grimmauld Place where Mundungus was able to find it and then sell it to Umbridge. Others have mentioned it as well: the reason Ron was so grumpy was because he was wearing the locket! It makes you depressed and magnifies your insecurities...
And the only reason Umbridge even got the locket was because Kreacher lacked the capacity to destroy a horcrux, due to those being nearly indestructible
Yeah, if everything had gone according to Regulus's plan, Voldemort would have died when he tried to kill Harry. No one else had ever made more than one Horcrux. He ordered Kreacher to destroy the locket, thinking that would make Voldemort mortal. His plan failed because a) the Horcrux was enchanted to be indestructible and b) Voldemort had other Horcruxes.
@@Lucario1121 he didn’t realize. They figured it out but by then it has already screwed with him. After that they start taking turns so no one is wearing it too long until they get it destroyed
They were expecting Harry to be on the broom, and with a highly trained Auror. That’s why they put him where he was, to subvert the death eater’s expectations.
The fact that the series starts off light-hearted and progressively gets darker, more complex and more grown-up was a huge factor behind its sucess. Where most series would stay stagnant and wait for the next batch of kids to be old enough to read it, this one chose to grow with its audience, and in so doing, retained them all the way to the end. Same with the films. Also, the 'guy we've never seen before' is Mundungus Fletcher. He is a counterfeit dealer and gets mentioned several times in the books (he keeps getting referenced all throughout the series, starting from the first or second book, IIRC, when Mr. Weasley says the Ministry had to fine him, or something along those lines). This is where the movies' cuts affect the experience - in the little details. Still, the DH movies are a massive improvement over that limp disappointment of a final book, and rank among the best in the series for me - especially Part 2, which realises the Battle of Hogwarts quite spectacularly.
I was bawling. I grew up with these movies and I read the books since I was a little kid. Donny meant a lot to me as a character. When I read it in the book I cried for hours. The movie just made it more real. Reading that book as a teen it was hard for me not to cry.
My family went to go see it in theaters. And we ended up in a PACKED theater so the family had to split up and I was trying so hard not to cry while I'm sitting next to these strangers! Lol
I remember as Dobby stood on the beach with the blade in his chest hearing someone who obviously hadn’t read the books loudly going “what the fuck?” like the indignity of the coming death was just offensive. And lots of sniffling as he fell down and died. The effect is still very much there! Just rewatched this with my mom last night after almost 13 years and at the end we were both hiding the fact we were crying 😅
it is explained in the book, death eaters know he is good on broom, and that Hagrid is the weakest protector of all. they wanted to hide the real Harry as much as possible, making him the last choice of Voldemort.
@@teleportingpotatoe They didn’t “bring her”. Harry let her out of her cage to fly away in the beginning of the movie , but Hedwig chose to come back on her own to defend Harry when the Death Eater was attacking him, thus giving him away.
@@Terriblegam2r But here's the thing... Not in the book. In the book, Hedwig was in a cage with Harry... Making the entire thing quite pointless. And also, the Harry in the cart is the legit most suspicious one, especially ones you realize that none of the others is an amazing flyer. Like, if you go by the logic "Harry would obviously be on a broom as he is a great flyer" then why would they bother turning the one flying in the cart?
One thing that’s important to mention is that Mundungus (the dude that we’ve “never seen before”) is that he’s actually shown a good amount of times in the books especially during scenes in the order of the Phoenix. But for some reason they just clipped him out of the movies until now.
Yeah, it sucks how he just appears and then they’re like ‘someone betrayed us’ even though he never technically betrayed them either. But it’s not like they explained that
Mundungus is actually such an interesting character with such a unique personality compared to everyone else and I feel the movies sort of completely forgot about how significant to the Order and the whole series
I still can't understand why Snape would've been expected to know when the Order was moving Harry. I doubt Voldemort expected Snape to still be welcome at Order meetings after killing Dumbledore.
Yes in the movie Hedwig got killed trying to protect Harry and was the reason Voldemort knew which Harry was the real Harry. In the books she was killed right as they took off and Harry wasn’t identified by the death eaters until much later when he used Expelliarmus which is like his signature spell. There’s a theory that it was Snape who killed Hedwig in order to keep Harry from being identified as the true Harry, to protect him. It makes a lot of sense and is just yet another reason to both love and hate Snape because he killed Hedwig but he also might’ve saved Harry in the process.
Yeah, no. No sane person loves Snape. He treated kids like shit. I have no issues with him loving Lily, unlike some people, as I know all too well you can't help who you love and that not everyone has multiple "loves." But how he treated Neville and others was not okay. And he wasn't always a double agent, so the fact that he chose to be a Death Eater speaks of who he is.
In the book, all the decoy Harrys were given stuffed owls in cages to further sell the ruse. There was no actual need to kill Hedwig. If that is something that Snape did then it just makes him an even worse person.
@@englishatheart Yeah. Snape may be one of my favorite character in these books, but he is a bad person. He treats kids like trash and probably killed any love for potion for some of them. The only reason he betrayed Voldemort is because he wants to avenge Lily, not because he realized that Voldemort's ideas are evil. So his work as a double agent may have been admirable, but he is still a bad person that did a good thing, not a good person. I'm still not over the fact that Harry named one of his kid after him.
@@desmondgentle1474 You think people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a live bird and a stuffed one if they came close enough? When Hedwig was killed her cage fell out of the motorcycle and Harry barely managed to catch it. Surely this caused a living bird to move around and maybe even screech a little. And it was a battle so bumping around out of place was just bound to happen a lot more. These are definitely things the death eaters would have been looking for to determine the real Harry. Was it absolutely necessary? No, maybe not. But it _definitely_ seems like an extreme Snape would’ve been more than willing to go to to accomplish his mission. The only thing that mattered was getting Harry out of there alive and the owl could’ve been an obstacle so he eliminated it.
I love how Ron shows up, fully ready to apologize, after saving Harry’s life and finding one of the things they were looking for, while also destroying the thing they were trying to destroy, and Hermione just like attacks him.
That act solidified Hermione’s opinion on Ron more than anything else. A friend would just be happy. A wife would rage at the irresponsibility and vow to rip him a new one if he ever abandoned them again.
Regulus Black didn't swap the horcrux to help Voldemort. He planned to betray him and find some way to destroy the horcrux himself. also 7:54 The sword hasn't been missing since Chamber of Secrets. It was in Dumbledore's office before it is later revealed that Snape stole it and was the one who put it at the bottom of the lake.
Same, so much is explained in the books that doesn't seem to make sense in the movies (why nobody utilizes/takes house elves seriously, liquid luck, etc)
But it is also the dumbest trick to pull! It's like in Sragonball Z when they moves Goku from his own house to Kame house. It's the second place someone would look! Same here, the moment the Death Eaters notice that none of the Harry's appears to be an amazing flyer, the one in the car is the only one left. I mean, one might even straight up wonder why they would bother making the one in the cart look like Harry, then the wheels spin and most people would figure out the trick.
My favorite part about RUclips is Alex Meyers' channel. It keeps me going and laughing when I am stressed out by college. Keep it up sir, you're great.🍀
I feel like there would be more clues as to which is the real Harry, namely the fact he flies with Hagrid. How would the baddies know? Lucius. How would HE know? Draco. Or perhaps Mundungus. Hagrid CAN do magic, he's just not allowed to. Which is weird, because he does it at least once in the books and movies and nothing comes of it. Wizardkind got plumbing from the muggles and this is what they used it for... I love Dobby's confused looks and slightly indignant reply to when Harry asks if he can TP them out of a house. "Master Potter seems to not be as clever as Dobby thought, sir."
My favorite part in the entire series is in this movie. Ron polyjuices into the Ministry worker and is like “Oh my God what am I going to do, my wife’s all alone downstairs” and Harry’s like, “Ron, you don’t have a wife.” But you know that Ron was completely prepared to end up with that random woman and adopt their kids 😂
In the book it is explained that Harry went with Hagrid in the beginning because Death Eaters would expect the real Harry to go by broom and be the best protected. His good flying would probably have given him away
It's also explained in the movie but Alex pulled a cinemasins to leave scenes out that explains something to then ask a question that were just explained.
@@8Makes1 - Watching Maleficent was so weird because Umbridge’s actress is Flora. I like the movie and all but I couldn’t take Flora seriously as all I saw was the most hated character from the HP universe.
@@8Makes1 - Like I do better separating Helena Bonham Carter from Bellatrix since she’s such a great actress that you can’t just see her as Bellatrix. Though I also did get into her via other roles first so that likely has also helped a bit in that.
During the rescue in the book the reason harry was in the sidecar was because Voldemort would target the ones on brooms because harry was good on a broom
I guess it wasn’t explained super well in the movie, but Regulus actually defected from the Death Eaters and took the locket in the hopes of destroying it - he sacrificed himself the same way Dumbledore did and wasn’t able to destroy it before he died.
i forget people don't know this sometimes... i also forget people aren't as heavily invested in the marauders eras i am so i am here cackling as is casually discussing Regulus' plan😂
6:11 lmao. I always found it funny how they asked all those questiond but as soon as remus sees tonks hes like "oh yeah it's cool shes definitely my wife"
I watched the films first and went in to the books thinking I'd be prepared for the deaths. I was so wrong - Dobby's death in the booms broke me on a whole other level
Honestly it is just a pretty revolutionary idea to create a series intended for a growing audience. Like it’s absolutely something that can be enjoyed for all ages but the fact that the story and themes get more serious as the characters (and the audience) grow older.
It is exactly because Harry is such a good flier that he goes with Hagrid. The idea is that no one would think they would put Harry in the least protected and most vulnerable position like that when he is better than everyone on a broom.
04:50 iirc, they comment that the death eaters know he's a great flyer so they'll be looking for a Harry who's comfortable on a broom. You know what would've been a better plan than what they did, though? Establish another one of those safe houses like Grimauld place was, have the secret keeper write a note for Harry but not go on the mission then, once Harry knows about it, teleport him there. They can't follow them because only one person can reveal where the place is and they were hiding there the whole time
If you read the books, you can see that the director did so dirty on Ron as a whole. He was a super hermione fan and a harry-hermione shipper, so gave all the cool things and lines ron did to hermione, and made sure Ron was an ass and not a likeable character so Harry and Hermione look more like a better couple.
The way Alex reacted to Dobby and Hedwig dying was literally me when I was reading the book. I literally scream "HEDWIG DIED, the heck kind of writting is this."
14:48 They don't. The philosopher's stone (or Sorcerer's stone) makes a person stay alive. The resurrection stone can bring someone back to life but they won't be the person they were, only being sad all the time
I believe it is Genius to have a series go from simple and somewhat life threatening, to dark and danger around every corner. Cause that is just like how we all grow up. As children we are oblivious to the dangers of the world because we either never hear about them (Parents who desperately try to preserve their child's innocence) or could never imagine why someone would hurt other person for enjoyment. I think we can all relate to believing we knew what the world was about at age 12, only to be sent on a roller coaster ride of Drama, Ideals, Law, Politics and Social Media. Leading us all to be afraid of our shadows by the time we're out of High School cause once you Graduate you belong to the real world.
My biggest plot peeve for this movie is why they decided to turn a bunch of people into Harry when they could just turn Harry into someone else? Just seems like they’d have an easier time if they did that.

After all these years, Fred and George going "Wow, we're identical!" still cracks me up.
it’s so funny
Always have a quick laugh there and then come the tears because I know it's the last time they actually are identical due to George losing his ear shortly after
I just loved that too!
And then crumble down in tears when one of them dies
I honestly didn't catch that for many years! I mean I heard them saying it, but the realization of them always being identical anyways bc they are twins totally slipped my mind and idk why... ahahahaha!
Fun fact Alex: One thing you didn't mention is that the locket was actually messing with Ron's head, which caused Ron's outburst, hence why it showed all of his insecurities!

The montage of Harry and Hermione skipping through the countryside while Ron is just being emo in the background was hilarious 😂
Yes, but they shouldn't have had a big wedding, just invited the order and kept the Burrow under the Fidelius charm.

I liked Hedwig's death more in the movie. The filmmakers realized that Hedwig dying trapped in a cage and being a helpless meat shield for Harry was a pretty cruel way to go. Harry instead setting her free only to have her choose to defend him was solid.

4:22 In the book the actual Harry riding with Hagrid is explained as a tactical decision by applying reverse psychology, exactly because the broom would be the obvious decision. If they were to get chased by the Death Eaters, they would more likely assume the real Harry to be a decoy.
Yeah I think they were saying he’s such a good flyer if he were to be on a broom anyone could’ve spotted him
It's also incredibly obvious that he'd be with Hagrid, also like Alex mentions, they stand out so much compared to everyone else
Also had Harry been alone on a broomstick, he could've easily out flown Voldemort
It's also explained that the whole thing was Snape/Dumbledore's idea. Snape Imperiused Mundungus to have him tell the Order the idea of the seven Potters and present it as his own idea. He gave Voldemort the right date so it wouldn't look too suspicious, but not the right target.
Also Voldemort and the deatheaters wouldn't expect a halfblood like Hagrid to protect Harry.
Oh God I thought said Harry riding hagrid.
It's OK George took on a new identity as a widely known chocolate maker called Willy Wonka :P
This is why I just make my own headcannon. The other deaths were sad, but Fred was rage inducing!

And how they forgot to add Mundugus to the scene, and then we have Bil commention on how Mundugus fleed as soon as he saw Voldemort leaving Moody to die alone?
Loved it, just a few reminders:
1. The broom thing was explained in the book. Everyone knows Harry's good with flying on a broom so they figured putting him on one would be too predictable and he would become an obvious target since Voldemort would expect the real Harry to be on a broom
2. The sword wasn't missing since the first movie, it was in Dumbledore's office for years. When he left it to Harry, I think the ministry took it for examination? But it was still in Hogwarts, now in Snape's office, till some kids tried to steal it and so he hid it away but actually he hid away a fake one and left the real one for Harry to find (correct me if I'm wrong I don't exactly remember how it got swapped)
Having to relive Dobby’s death again and again is just fills me with so much pain…

HARRY HAD ALREADY EARNED THE SWORD IN HIS 2ND YEAR. Dumbledore apparently thought Godric had to re-earn the sword every time he used it.

It's amazing how much Snape comes in clutch for a human being he can't stand to look at.
Yes I think you’re right which is why Voldemort went after Moody first thinking the real Harry was likely with him.
The house elf thing is actually a big thing in the books. At least in terms of “wizards severely underestimating them”
Here’s a theory: Wizards enslaved them because the where so powerful but over the decades wizards forgot their true power and now just think of them as creatures who are naturally just servants.
@@journeyteale9144I immediately thought that as I was watching the video. Enslaving them was the only way to contain their true power or something

They just left so much storytelling out of the movies that it's just like, "And this happens now."

@@Znegilwhat…? I re-read the books last month and they are still really good.
Books were mediocre, movies were straight up bad.

"Ron overcomes his Jacob from Twilight angst"
OH MY GOD😂😂😂
Harry Potter and the deathly hallows is basically twilight but Bella’s the powerful one and Jacob’s mildly less angsty and more clothed.
Remember watching this movie in theatres the night it came out, and you could audibly hear people crying after Doby died.

One thing that’s important to mention is that Mundungus (the dude that we’ve “never seen before”) is that he’s actually shown a good amount of times in the books especially during scenes in the order of the Phoenix. But for some reason they just clipped him out of the movies until now.

My favorite part about RUclips is Alex Meyers' channel. It keeps me going and laughing when I am stressed out by college. Keep it up sir, you're great.🍀
Harry and dobby were so close in the books, the movies didnt cover how awesome dobby is as a character and how sad his death really was.
16:03 Yeah, we probably should have warned you about that first, Alex. 😢
Alex liking a movie he watches and giving genuine probs is the magic only Harry Potter can perform❤
Ron polyjuices into the Ministry worker and is like “Oh my God what am I going to do, my wife’s all alone downstairs” and Harry’s like, “Ron, you don’t have a wife.”
But you know that Ron was completely prepared to end up with that random woman and adopt their kids 😂
Alex Meyers needs time to recover from all the heartbreaking deaths in deathly hallows part 1
the ending of deathly hallows part 1 made everybody add bellatrix to their hit list
Absolutely agree. I have a hard time watching movies with her and umbrige's actresses in them because I hate the HP characters to much.
@@8Makes1 - Watching Maleficent was so weird because Umbridge’s actress is Flora. I like the movie and all but I couldn’t take Flora seriously as all I saw was the most hated character from the HP universe.
@@Goleon That's exactly the movie I was thinking of! That and the live action Cinderella. I had such a hard time watching both movies because of HP.
@@8Makes1 - Like I do better separating Helena Bonham Carter from Bellatrix since she’s such a great actress that you can’t just see her as Bellatrix. Though I also did get into her via other roles first so that likely has also helped a bit in that.
Nah. I couldn't stand Dobby, so his death didn't bother me.
Regulus knew he wouldn't survive the cave, so he left it for Kreacher to destroy the locket.
i forget people don't know this sometimes... i also forget people aren't as heavily invested in the marauders eras i am so i am here cackling as is casually discussing Regulus' plan😂
11:47 lol! Yes! Trogdor X Sword of Gryffindor is not something I expected to see today, but I'm here for it.
7:24 “Golden Snatch” sounds like the female counterpart to gold member
6:11 lmao. I always found it funny how they asked all those questiond but as soon as remus sees tonks hes like "oh yeah it's cool shes definitely my wife"
The books explain it.
@@Vamoss39elaborate please
A movie Alex actually liked, and openly admits made him cry? Let's go!
I watched the films first and went in to the books thinking I'd be prepared for the deaths. I was so wrong - Dobby's death in the booms broke me on a whole other level
The journey is about to come to an end.
Doby’s death is the saddest in the whole Harry Potter franchise, he’ll always be my favorite character
This was like Endgame for 2011.
the little Hermione vs Ron animation 13:52 doesn't go unnoticed lmfao
4:44 I think they did it like that because they would have expected Harry to be on a broom since he’s so good at it
Honestly it is just a pretty revolutionary idea to create a series intended for a growing audience. Like it’s absolutely something that can be enjoyed for all ages but the fact that the story and themes get more serious as the characters (and the audience) grow older.
11:22 the fucking loko roko music caught me so off guard I haven’t heard it since I was like 10 years old
Am I the only that cries everytime I watch this movie and has to relive both Hedvig and Dobbys deaths?
" Darby did not meant to kill, only maim or seriously injure". Best Line
It is exactly because Harry is such a good flier that he goes with Hagrid.
The idea is that no one would think they would put Harry in the least protected and most vulnerable position like that when he is better than everyone on a broom.
Dobby's death was the saddest one for me, he was one of my favourite characters 😭
You spelled Hedwig's and Fred's wrong.
They can't follow them because only one person can reveal where the place is and they were hiding there the whole time
No matter how many time i watch the harry potters movies i never get enough..im always going to watch and deadly hollows is one of the best❤
That random LocoRoco music @11:16 throws me back a few years hahah awesome
If you read the books, you can see that the director did so dirty on Ron as a whole. He was a super hermione fan and a harry-hermione shipper, so gave all the cool things and lines ron did to hermione, and made sure Ron was an ass and not a likeable character so Harry and Hermione look more like a better couple.
That's so weird lol. I remember thinking how weird it was that Hermione was discovering and saying everything. I felt it was very poor writing.
I think the reason Harry travelled with Hagrid and not on a broom was to prevent him going back to help his friends
7:05 Not a Wal-Mart bag for her bridal veil! I cannot with this guy!!! lol
Snape is a Goth Theatre Kid, yes.
“Man, I sure hope no other characters die in this movie.”
Famous last words
The way Alex reacted to Dobby and Hedwig dying was literally me when I was reading the book. I literally scream "HEDWIG DIED, the heck kind of writting is this."
Fun fact:
(If I remember correctly)
The Deathly Hallows in Hindi translates to 'Maut ke Toufey',
Which's direct translation is Presents of Death
Man...Hindi dub artists don't know shittt
Damn. I never knew that
Lmao, this brings back memories. The Hindi version was so hilarious yet accurate.
Happy birthday Alex!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. ❤ Your animations and your sarcastic remark on Umbridge! Classic!!!!
I loved mad eyed moody. I was... Very sad when he died... **starts sobbing uncontrollably in the corner**
The fact that Alex can make a sad and serious movie FUNNY amazes me. Also he has the help of Fred and George.
"And then Ron sees this like weird vision of Harry and Hermione with the same skin complexion, as like a Mr. Beast thumbnail"
I can't 🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching the Harry Potter movies over and over during the Lockdown in 2020
Deathly Hallows part 2 was the one I watched the most times
@@wul09 I used to watch on TV only
@@wul09last time I checked, HBO Max, but it comes and goes, so it may be something else
4:45 actually I think that’s why, Voldy would expect him to be on a broom
Harry’s hat thing KILLS me😂
8:23 Exactly. He basically went "Harry will figure it out later."
5:20 Pasta patronius!!! 🍝
Alex, I think you need to do Mrs Doubtfire. I just have vivid memories of learning what cheating and divorces were from that film.
I second this! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I third that.
I second this.
I forgot about Dobby's death traumatizing me as a child till I saw this video
Your animations on this were out of this world! Thanks for putting so much time into these for us.
9:20 in the book, this is the part where we got Kreacher's back story😭 poor guy. He just need some love 😢
11:27 the ‘My Chemical Romance’ tshirt 😂😂😂
14:48 They don't. The philosopher's stone (or Sorcerer's stone) makes a person stay alive. The resurrection stone can bring someone back to life but they won't be the person they were, only being sad all the time
I love Fleur sis was like “I’m disgusting” lololol
