We usually have 5-6 weeks when we don´t see the sun, because even when the sun rise a little bit above the horizon, we can´t see it. The ground isn´t flat, and there is always trees, hills and mountains in the way. This week I saw the sun again, and it was a great feeling. Everybody gets a little happier when the light returns!
Yea, me too (Luleå). Lots of light pollution, but I have seen the stars in other places in the north. It's not like it's night dark all day, we do have some light.

She lives with her boyfriend in a very small village, but it’s really remote and they do live of the land quite a lot! She has produced the movie you see herself, so that’s basically what she does all year! Sweden is a very “long” country so you can easily travel from north to south!

So I grew up less than 100 km from where Jonna currently lives, spent more than 5 years close to the arctic circle and also lived in Brazil in Sao Paulo state for some years having a pretty good idea on how diffrent things can be and what effect it has on you. There is no midnight sun as such (or arctic night) where she lives, you need to travel some 500 km further north for that but there is still very bright long summer nights and short winter days so the essence of what she is saying is true, especially further north. Some people still get light depravation in the middle of Sweden and there is reason for dairy products to have vitamin D added in Sweden, it helps. Most Swedes would consider this part of nothern Sweden, even though it pretty much bang in the middle. That being said I found the shorter days in Brazil to be more challenging than I expected, having all that warm nice weather but little time to enjoy it since it would be pitch dark around 6 in the afterrnoon, every day year round. Frustrating.

About the pollen. There are studies that say, if people live away from nature, they get allergies more easily than those, who have been more in nature right from the start. And also a too clean way of living can make your bodys immune system to go wild and it begins to targer things like pollen, which are not a danger to the body.
I recommend maybe reacting to a few of Cecilia Blomdahl's videos. They deal with life on Svalbard, a tiny island near the North Pole. I recommend the video called Nobody Can be Born on This Remote Arctic Island.
I'm allergic (Birch, common grass, etc.) - and live in Norway. Yes - there can be so much pollen in spring that parking your car outside will turn any color car into a green car. My allergy was a big bother as a child as the allergy pills made me very drowsy. And they did not work that well (worst was the runny eyes, woke up and my eyelids were "glued" shut). Modern medicine works much better and does not cross the blood-brain barrier and thus does not make you drowsy. During the spring/summer i take one Cetirizine pill every day and i hardly notice any allergy. This is over the counter medicine and it costs me about $5 per month. Or if I visit the doctor i get it for free.

We have 4 seasons, how long every season is depend on where you live in this country. "How do they do it?" In Russia? Finland? Norway? Canada? I blame the lack of education, especially geography.
Vitamin D is mandated by law to be included in many foods in Sweden like milk, cheese, yoghurt and so on. Vitamin D deficiency is a much bigger problem in the UK, or even in places like Greece, then it is in Sweden because of this.
for people who are geneticly scandinavians have no problems with vitamin D but people from southern countries like africa need it becourse its an entire different environment
Jonna lives in Ångermanland, it counts to Norrland wich almost cover half of Sweden according to maps. Jonna says here that she lives in the middle of north Sweden - the middle of Norrland. I live about 35 km further north and we really don´t have midnight sun, for seeing that you have to travel further north and pass the artic circle. But there is light all night long for 1-2 months in summer and winterdays can really be dark depending to where you live, forrests and mountains getting in the way for the sun...and of course grey clouds and snowing. Jonna Jinton is a very skilled photographer, but to be honest - if she is living is the middle of Sweden, she know very little about living in the polar night. I grew up in Finnmark in Norway, and I have lived in Trondheim in Norway, which is not far south from the altitude where she lives - and the difference in light conditions is huge. She actually should try living as far north as she pretends to do, both in the summer and winter. There is nothing like the bright summer nights as far north as Finnmark - and the winter up there is really harsh.
Pretends like when she mention "middle of the north"? Which is fairly accurate, but no - it still isn't very far north even in Sweden. There's a fair chunk of the country still to travel to get to the northern most border. Did I sense a wee bit of Jante in that comment?

What is said in the video is not really true. Where she lives you can not see the sun 24 hours a day, because she lives south of the Arctic Circle and then you can not see the midnight sun. But just north of the Arctic Circle. since December, she has more daylight than we have up in Kiruna (Kiruna when Sweden's northernmost city). What she describes in the video is more in line with how it is up in Kiruna, but as I said she lives too far south and does not match where she lives and how it is there. You actually get angry when people believe her lies and people hate me when I reveal that what she is saying is not true. So I usually tell those who get angry, go up and live a year where she lives and see how much truth there is in what she says. Then go up to my city 80 miles north and live a year here and you will see who is right and who has lied to those who have watched her on RUclips
She doesn't claim there is midnight sun and polar night were she lives, just short days in midwinter and light all night midsummer. She actually tells that and shows pictures from Norrbotten. She goes travelling for filming and photography.
