    The wasteland doctor was telling the truth back in episode 2. He saw the scientist with Lucy and tried to sell a cure for missing feet. The story would probably be very different if they turned the scientist into a ghoul.

    "Captures the essence" is exactly what I feel about the show. I think others are saying the same. It just feels like another entry into the world of Fallout and it IS! It doesn't have that feeling of separation that I get from most videogame adaptations. I think this is most comparable to Cyberpunk Edgerunners in the world of videogame adaptations, in that they are both canon to the games whilst telling their own stories and adding to the lore. It's incredible how they've managed to capture the look so well in the live action Fallout. That Red Rocket!

    • @saladspinner3200
      @saladspinner3200 2 месяца назад +10

      Exactly! It felt like I was watching Fallout 5 at almost every second of this series. And we got more pre-war lore than ever before. A really smart move of Bethesda, they can now take the game series to a new direction.

    • @fredwin
      @fredwin 2 месяца назад +3

      Considering the state of Bethesda and the franchise, they are currently doing fallout better than the video games. If I had to make one criticism in that regard, is that they went too far in making the Brotherhood a joke and not menacing.

    • @Sm0kingGun
      @Sm0kingGun 2 месяца назад +3

      @@fredwin Well, they did have Bethesda on board for a majority of the story writing so I'd say Bethesda is doing everything right this time. Sure, 76 was a mistake, but I doubt they'll do the same mistake twice lol. Also, the Brotherhood IS a joke, no need to make them more menacing than they really are :p

    20:18, No, Stephanie came from vault 31 just like everyone else who was ever made overseer in vaults 32 and 33. My guess is that it was Betty, Stephane or both of them who poisoned the prisoner's food just to get Betty's relocation plan in effect. However, it could be a very longshot that Stephanie coerced Chet into doing it.

    "A feral ghoul can't abide a chicken" is just in-universe goofy non-sense. Like a superstition. It's not part of Fallout lore or anything. It's just something that guy heard some where or was passed down by his family.

      Practically speaking, they would have needed to place the chicken alone as bait rather than standing around it, to “properly” check.
      If Coop _had_ been feral, he would have immediately gone for whoever was closest, with no distinction (minding how the actual feral ghouls and Martha acted).

    99% sure that the drug the doctor gave to Thadues was FEV, the effects seem to match perfectly from some versions of the drug(fallout 2 terminals). Ghouls, as shown to us last episode, don’t have any healing abilities like that, there damage remains. There’s only 2 documented cases in fallout of a drug being strong enough to turn someone into a ghoul, but there’s DOZENS of different forms of FEV, many of which have different effects during testing but all end the same… SUPER MUTANTS.

    Its interesting to see the characters interact with Dogmeat. They really put thought into it.
    Thaddeus thinks Dogmeat is annoying because it wont leave him alone.
    Lucy knows its a dog but doesnt really seem to care about it.
    The target that escaped with the dog cared for it. He treated it as a modern human might treat a dog.
    And lastly Cooper knows what it is but actively tries to not care a out it because it makes him miss his dog Roosevelt. Though he does use it to track the his target.
    I thought that was super cool.

    It might be a little easier for a series like Fallout, but I feel like this is how video game adaptations should always be. A new story with new characters, but set in the same world as the game. The games already do a great job at telling their own story, no need to repeat it with an adaptation.

    • @bulletsandbracelets4140
      @bulletsandbracelets4140 2 месяца назад +3

      Honestly. A lot of times video game stories don't translate either because the main character is usually made to be a blank canvas. Things happen to them - they don't have a personality or a history by design except in specific circumstances. They were made to be played, not watched

      I have two theories as to whodunit.
      Theory One:
      It was actually Norm. Everyone's been so focused on Lucy/Max/Ghoul's S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats that we've all overlooked what Norm's stats are. He's done every job, worked every post, everything. He's a high perception or agility character, possibly a stealth build or even max stats. We've overlooked his stats thus far, further reinforcing the possibility he's a stealth build.
      I found Norm's offering of the cake to that woman a little odd. He doesn't strike me as that type of person. I think he put the rat poison in the cake and passed it off to that woman to avoid suspicion. Even if Norm came under suspicion, he could just point to who gave it to him. Someone like Betty or Stephanie. Which leads me to...
      Theory Two:
      Betty did it and Norm was actually meant to be the scapegoat. Perhaps he felt something was off by being told to give them the cake. He had already voiced his opinion to kill them at the town hall meeting so he would be easy to frame after saying something like that. The way Betty looked at Norm after the woman was arrested came across as an "I underestimated you" kinda look to me.

    My running theory for what happened in vault 32 - it seems like the management in particular killed themselves. So I think the people in the vault found the "truth", rebelled, and were killed by management and the higher positions in the vault. The people remaining after the violence killed themselves, unable to live with the guilt. Guess we may or may not find out!
