It really is such a clever bit of writing, the way the show set up the red herring that Vault 4 was targeting Lucy and Maximus last episode only to turn everything on its head this episode. It recontextualizes EVERYTHING in Vault 4. The room with the label "test subjects" in the very beginning didn't indicate they were drugging Lucy and Maximus, it was literally just the old room where the original Vault 4 would collect new victims by way of the hospital. Having played the games, you usually get a few interesting moral choices. Do you want to be the Good guy or the Bad guy? Being the Bad guy might make your own adventures easier (or harder) but one choice might be the more morally correct one. Like Lucy telling Maximus to return the core. Things could have been easier for them with Maximus in the suit (the way the story progressed it probably didn't matter if he was suited up or not). If they encountered combat then having the suit would be great! But Lucy also knew tht taking it would doom Vault 4 as they'd have very limited power and very low odds of finding a new Fusion Core to replace. The morally right thing to do would be to return it even if it would make the rest of their encounter and combats harder. She also added a bit of a RP (Roleplaying) reason in that she thinks her father would not want her to take it.
I’m pretty sure that it was Norm that poisoned and killed the prisoners. He was the one bringing them food every day after all and they were killed with rat poison mixed into their food. Steph was picked as the Overseer of 32 because she is originally from 31 like all the other Overseers.
Interesting that Erik Estrada character is a lead farmer. It just made me think of Tropical Thunder When robert downing jr said he was a "m***f***ing lead farmer". Just a random thought I know it means nothing to the overall Fallout thing. Just felt like sharing.
I seen some people say this show is silly or doesn't make sense. But the game is meant to be a satire. Nothing makes sense. The premise is dropping bombs on your own country so... anything else is peanuts from there
the opening scene of this episode, with Erik Estrada (from CHiPs), is very similar to that of the villain's introduction in the 1966 film "the good, the bad and the ugly".
Its possible that Thadius isnt becoming a ghoul. Its possible that he got infected with the virus thats turns people into Super Mutants. If he comes back to the show next season we will see.
Hey, Guys -- What also might make for an interesting reaction are those five two- and three-minute cartoons that are an extra on Amazon's Fallout page. They're clever, and provide some interesting background information.
Why in the world would you say keep the fusion core? She just said the people can't live without it.... They did absolutely nothing to them. Actually helped them. This is why you can't trust people.
Ah yeah. The curse of being a good aligned character. Have to give up that power core just so those people can live. And give up the shiny power armor.
Highly likely that Vault 4 with their surface foragers & organized nature likely has many spare Fusion Cores, especially that they didn't try to get it back. Also, on a production and story note, they probably didn't want Max in the suit for the rest of the series.
Of course you're going to be left with some questions at the end...they have to have material for season 2! But they will answer a bunch in the last episode. And you might just get a few NEW questions...
I just wanna recommened Outer Banks as another show worth watching/reacting to. Have a great day guys and thanks for all the lovely content you put out.
Awesome theory guesses.... But... i dont recall any of the games ever really delving more into how ghouls happen....other than they are mutated due to radiation... More of a 1950s hyperimagination version of hypothetical reality... same mindset that created the Hulk... gamma radiation doesnt turn you into a sometimes green monster... it just dissolves your DNA and you die... like Chernobyl. Anyhow...so ghouls are just radiation-mutated humans... the drugs the Ghoul was taking may have been stuff like Mentats (Intelligence boost). I dont recall the games ever mentioning a way to stave off turning feral (unless it's in Fallout 4, which i haven't played) Whatever Thaddeus took was something else altogether probably... In some of the games, there is the "Ghoulish" perk you can acquire, which makes you heal because of radiation, like a ghoul...or the Rad Boy perk which does similar.
Apparently there is one ghoul in F4 who claims he became a ghoul after taking some experimental party drug that gave him the high of his life. People are speculating it's FEV instead of ghoulification but hell, Bethesda's been so deeply inconsistent with ghoul lore it could be anything
Yeah, not really sure what with the magic potion to turn someone into a ghoul, haven't seen that in the game. Bottle caps, on the other hand, you know it's the currency, right? And the outfits of son and dad, look no further than first picture for Fallout: New Vegas
I dont think Thad is becoming a ghoul or a super mutant. Ghouls do heal with radiation, but they have never had Wolverine speed healing. I believe the doctor gave him a homemade version of the Healing Factor serums that were introduced in Fallout 76. There are various that give you dofferent abilities with the drawback of you now being a mutated human. In the game, the serums are cured by taking Rad Away which heals radiation and you keep them by remaining radiated. So i think thats why the doctor told Thad he no longer had to worry about radiation
At the beginning of the episode, the two guys with metal detectors weren't looking for caps. They were looking for bullets, so they could melt them down to make bullets which would fit their weapons.
You are really wonderfull reactors ❤! Smart, funny and compassionate! Please don‘t feel like you have to increace your content output and just keep your level of energy (i see so many reactors burning themselves out to produce more and more, while making it tedious to watch them beeing exhausted). Just 1 (tiny) point of critisism: your Movie playlist is a bit of a mess (lots of videos missing)😅 AND I WANT TO SEE THEM ALL!
My biggest question is How does the goul feel about Moldaver now? Because she’s the one that originally told him about what his wife was really up to. So does he hate her or is neutral with her?
You guys wouldnt know this unless you played the games, but it's waaay more likely Thaddeus is actually turning into a super mutant, not a ghoul. Ghouls dont regenerate limbs and stuff like that
Ghoulism is a specific condition, but it has multiple causes in the games. Some are caused by a serum, but usually it's just an effect of radiation. Not the most scientific explanation, I know, but this was video game logic so it didn't need to be. As to Moldaver being a ghoul who just hasn't degraded, it's possible but unlikely. The degradation happens on its own, though it does seem to accelerate the more a ghoul has to regenerate. It being 200 years, I don't think Moldaver could be a ghoul who hasn't degraded at all.
8:36 everyone seems to forget the horrific injuries you can sustain in the games and still walk around lol both legs can broken, still manage to move around the world in seemingly no pain...
Hey guys, I've been diving through your channel ever eince the Fallout series began, and I just can't wait to see what else you guys bring to the channel. I seen some people say this show is silly or doesn't make sense. But the game is meant to be a satire. Nothing makes sense. The premise is dropping bombs on your own country so... anything else is peanuts from there
"The premise is dropping bombs on your own country"
That's not the premise.
The last Ep is exceptional, quite a lot of questions answered for sure
the opening scene of this episode, with Erik Estrada (from CHiPs), is very similar to that of the villain's introduction in the 1966 film "the good, the bad and the ugly".
Its possible that Thadius isnt becoming a ghoul. Its possible that he got infected with the virus thats turns people into Super Mutants.
If he comes back to the show next season we will see.
11:24 oof. This is my rewatch with the reactions and… oof. That was a tough one to hear the second go-round.
The violin music in the game will drive you crazy, until you learn how to turn off the speakers at the castle.
I love your reactions guys 😊
Hey, Guys -- What also might make for an interesting reaction are those five two- and three-minute cartoons that are an extra on Amazon's Fallout page. They're clever, and provide some interesting background information.
I love this series and I love your reactions to it! 😁
Notice Mason has a Capt. Levi POP! nice!
Thaddeus has a terrible luck stat
I just wanna recommened Outer Banks as another show worth watching/reacting to. Have a great day guys and thanks for all the lovely content you put out.
Thx for the reaction
My theory is that Stephanie & Chet are basically Nancy & Ronald Reagan, (something I predict will be further developed in season 2.)
I dont recall the games ever mentioning a way to stave off turning feral (unless it's in Fallout 4, which i haven't played)
Whatever Thaddeus took was something else altogether probably...
We are so back
Yeah, not really sure what with the magic potion to turn someone into a ghoul, haven't seen that in the game. Bottle caps, on the other hand, you know it's the currency, right? And the outfits of son and dad, look no further than first picture for Fallout: New Vegas
Im excited to see yalls reactions next episode 😌
i cant wait for these guys to react to reacher
I dont think Thad is becoming a ghoul or a super mutant. Ghouls do heal with radiation, but they have never had Wolverine speed healing. I believe the doctor gave him a homemade version of the Healing Factor serums that were introduced in Fallout 76. There are various that give you dofferent abilities with the drawback of you now being a mutated human. In the game, the serums are cured by taking Rad Away which heals radiation and you keep them by remaining radiated. So i think thats why the doctor told Thad he no longer had to worry about radiation
drop that episode 8 asap please 😂❤ can not wait for the last one
At the beginning of the episode, the two guys with metal detectors weren't looking for caps. They were looking for bullets, so they could melt them down to make bullets which would fit their weapons.
I think Thaddeus may be actually turning into a Super Mutant. It would explain the rapid healing as he transforms, too.
Well, FEV has different effects on different people. It only turns some into super mutants. Some it does turn into ghoul like creatures.
Oh Vault 4 is the best 😆
You guys should watch deep impact
Y’all should play fallout 4 once this is over!
i think Thaddues may be a Super Mutant instead of a ghoul...
I agree 💯!!!❤
I really want to see you guys play fallout 4.
you can’t tell me that intro song isn’t from ark survival evolved
Y’all should react to the “Step up” movies. Really gets you in a groovy mood.
8:36 everyone seems to forget the horrific injuries you can sustain in the games and still walk around
lol both legs can broken, still manage to move around the world in seemingly no pain...
Good observation for the liquid thaddeus took not everybody made the connection it was the same 'ghoul liquid'
So we get that final episode today as well, right? Lol
i really wish you had blurred the foot. what did we do to make you want to show us that?
Maan im gonna be sad next week when you are done :(
Reac to bird box
Hey guys, I've been diving through your channel ever eince the Fallout series began, and I just can't wait to see what else you guys bring to the channel.
(I would love to request Shrek the Musical and Legally Blonde the Musical to continue those series, and the Dragon Prince, since it's made by the creators of Avatar and Korra)
