We have a volunteer Fire Department here in Saint Petersburg Florida and it is going to be a killer chiefs' (me) car. It was clearly an under cover car since it is all black and blacked out windows. Who ever had this car assigned to them clearly took care of it. By the way if you have not checked it out yet your speedometer says on it that it is certified and calibrated...it is. And the V6 goes up to 160 mph...it does. Lit it up over the weekend and made a trial Fire Department run down the freeway. Hang on though with that police package it hunkers down and loves to run flat out on the freeway. Good luck with it and enjoy
DAVID VINCENT Thank you, Ive had the car 3 years now and I still love it. Ive kept it maintained well and she does fly. That Hemi is a fast motor! betty bare I really don’t know much about the Impalas. I had a 2005 for a short time but that’s a very different ball game then the newer ones like you got. Other channels on here may know more or have better videos on those
I got them from ebay. Just make sure to measure the holes in the car. I had a few 3/8 size NMO holes and 2 big 1 1/8 holes to fill so I needed 2 different plug sizes. Had all the plugs since 2017 and have never had any issues with leaks.
Bar Bank I might be able to. In my situation, the speaker wires were cut and connected to the police radios, I just had to find the cut in the line and reconnect the wires.
I got my 2013 Charger at a police auction for $5100, and the mileage was a whopping 147,000. So far it’s driving nicely, and the engine is well taken care of. Minor flaws: no console, no trunk cover, and material seats.
@@Danawhite69 i actually did end up getting one like a month after that comment. 2014 charger pursuit, got it with 139k miles on it and its at 153k now. I’ve driven it basically every single day since ive had it and no issues at all. Oil changes every 3k miles. I’ve honestly been pretty rough on this car (not irresponsible, but ive had some fun with the 5.7 hemi) and its still holding strong. Plan on keeping it for awhile.
Dude i want one so bad our auction in tx has 3 08-10 chargers police version i hope they have the 5.7 im looking into getting one and parking my vic only thing i dont like is that there black and white and i know one of em has a v6
There is a michigan state trooper charger with the 5.7 hemi, 2013 and 96k miles for $5500 it has alot of plugs. There is ohio state trooper car 5.7 hemi, 2012 and 118k miles and no plugs and center council. Which would be a better buy?
Mark Herc that’s hard to say. I’d look into both cars closely. I know that Ohio State police cars are mostly take home cars and are well kept, not sure about the MSP cars, but worth looking into. Pool cars are beat on harder then a take home car assigned to a single officer. All I can say is check them both out very closely, see what one is best mechanically and make your decision then.
Depressed Sauce You can retrofit the civilian center console into these but you’ll have a hole where the console shift would be. Mopar actually makes a shifter delete plate for the civilian center console to fill the hole.
My 2007 from Miami actually cam with the center console in the back seat so I could reinstall it if I wanted. What I love about mine is that the sifter IS ON THE COLUMN and not the floor so I have lots of room to work with for my conversion to a Fire Department cruiser for our Chief (oh yea me!)
Amazing how cheap these cars are in the US compared to the UK, if you can find one. For example an 2006 Charger R/T Hemi will cost more than a new 2018 model in the US!!.
What is not always talked about is the subconscious aspect of why people purchase these cars. Some of it is a true love for the make and model, the reliability of the police package. Then there is the love of the impersonators who drive these and end up being arrested. These cars make you a potential target or even better, "Are you a cop?" In Texas you can buy these like your model so as long no emergency lights, and siren. People need to understand in my opinion, you buy one of these, expect some attention; good and bad. My two cents as an LEO in Texas. But who also loves for the make and model.
That’s definitely a good point. I can’t understand why people want to deck these out with lights and equipment to get the “cop look”. Not a good idea. Having also worked in public safety, I absolutely understand where you’re coming from. Stay safe out there.
Bar Bank if it’s a cop car, there is a good chance that the switch is aftermarket. Which if it is it could literally be for anything. more than likely it could be a fuel pump shut off, so if the cops were parked the car they could hit the switch so somebody couldn’t steal it. That’s just a guess it could literally be anything. Mine does not have any kind of button there.
I'm stupid lol it's the little thing that is for the glove box light when u open if smh it just looked like it was for something else haha cause it's just right there n ur face n looked like it was a button or a switch
These motors are notorious for having camshaft and lifters issues, if you buy it keep in mind that you may have to remove the heads and change the camshaft and lifters at some point. If you’re handy it’s a manageable job but it may take you a few days. If you’re not, I would keep looking.
I have just bought one and it's great it really turns heads as I live in WAKEFIELD GREAT BRITAIN !!! 5.8 HEMMI 380 BHP. Will outrun anything on the British roads.
Wow. I have a 08 crown vic (white) and i just got a former sc hwy patrol 2013 charger just like this. When i seen the thumbnail i had to listen lol... i paid 7k for mine 170k miles..
Ron Paker Perhaps you mean the famous Hemi tick? From what I’ve read the Hemi tick is more of an annoyance then an actual mechanical issue. For the most part the Hemis are good motors.

BDOG JR I wish it did! Cop cars only get the nag1 5 speed. This has the standard 2.65 rear gears with open diff and the “electronic” locker. I plan to install a Getrag or a Quaife Locker in the future.
wjye A580 transmission. Chrysler adaptation of the ZF 5-spd, made in good old Kokomo, IN. The "NAG1" was a Chrysler copy of the MB 5G-matic, which was their adaptation of the ZF 5-spd. Chrysler got the engineering rights from ZF, same with the 845RE, but they have to share improvements for either drivetrain with ZF. 2018 was originally supposed to be the last year for the A580, but it sounds like we'll see one more model year with it. Then the V6 cars will get the 845RE, and the V8 Pursuits will get the Hellcat Charger's 8HP90 or possibly the Demon's 8HP95. Watch carefully, here. If the 8HP95 survives unscathed in the AWD Pursuits, the SRT group will know it'll also survive with AWD in certain other HP models. And I'm not just talking about the upcoming Durango Pursuit. ;)
wjye It already ties it. The Taurus is done in March of 2019, and the Wimpala and Caprice are already gone, so Dodge has the last of the high-performance police sedans. Chrysler has confirmed the Charger Pursuit will carry on after the next version appears in late 2021. The Chrysler 392 Enforcer (300) was awarded the nod for patrolling Australia's outback. The 2019 Durango Pursuit reappears with a new nose, and added features from the Charger Pursuit.
All Charger Pursuit packages from 2006-present and even the 2015+ models came with a 5 speed Mercedes automatic transmission. The only way you can get a 2015+ Charger with the 5.7 V8 with AWD is if you get the pursuit package model.

DAVID VINCENT Thank you, Ive had the car 3 years now and I still love it. Ive kept it maintained well and she does fly. That Hemi is a fast motor! Just be careful with all that police equipment left behind, I know you’re a firefighter but some of that stuff still maybe questionable to have if you use the car as a private vehicle. Still congrats on the car and enjoy!
The holes on the trunk are where they had radar guns mounted
I’m from Ohio as well, I am buying a 2010 and I was thinking, is there any laws on the spot light attached above the mirror? Can you use it as long as you aren’t driving.?
This video is awesome. I’m looking at getting a 2012 Charger Police 5.7 think you got me
Sold man
Awesome! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine!
I personally would want one with stellies and Ram bar, looks good though
What’s a “ram bar”?

Awesome video man !! 👍You should do another video on the charger !! Subbed
Hey i just bought one.. and im having a issue where my front right and my rear left tail light arent working.(ive tried new bulbs) would u know what to do?
2012 police charger 5.7 with 170,000 running strong and clean
What website are the auctions held on?
Hey man nice car. Does your 4 inch Uconnect radio have bluetooth? I know the 8-inch one does but it's expensive to upgrade from the 4 in to the 8 with/without navigation.
Jamar D the 4.3 does not have Bluetooth sadly, or at least this version doesn’t
@@wjye Hmmm might see if can find a 13 with BT or swap it out for cheap if possible. Thanks.
I have the same exact one but i dont have the hemi badge and its crazy it only has 370 horse power for its speed my dad went 127mph and it was still going up at a good pace
These are pretty quick for "only" 370 horses. And I got the badges off eBay for $15!
I have been thinking about a police car Charger between 2011-2014. I see eBay has spoilers for them for cheap. Like $59.00
Baird's Bikes Videos no no no , your cop car will no longer look like a cop car if you put on a spoiler !!
@@budstephens7239 I ended up buying a black 2012 Dodge Charger RT civilian car. I love the Charger Police cars though too. I notice driving at night down the highway with my charger people slow down when they come by me haha.
Do the Dodge police units keep track of idle hours like the Ford ones? I know Ford equates every idle hour with 31 miles of driving.
Yes. Chrysler Fleet equates 1 hour of idle to 40 miles of driving.
does it have a manual shifting mode? The column shift lever seems to have + and - buttons on it
Dylan Vane Yes it does have a manual shift mode. It’s quite fun!
I notice on the speedometer it says "certified" and the current '18 Pursuits do as well.
I’m pretty sure all police package cars have the certified speedometers. I think it’s an industry standard. Not sure why or what the purpose is. Lol
I had a 2009 Crown Vic. Ex- police car, it was a runner with little problems, but the transmition shot craps in 2011.
dustermouseable as most of them tend to do lol
Hey bud. Has your uconnect messed up on you yet? I got a police charger too and mine is stuck on auxillary connected. I heard there is a fuse you have to pull to restart it. But i lucked out on my car. The interior is almost complete and i got it with a fresh black paint job. I added some 345 emblems and painted the center caps gloss black. Its a real head turner man.
A G Massacre I’ve had a few odd issues with it, I mainly use an iPod and get odd glitches like it won’t read it and freeze, but turning off the car and restarting it usually fixes the issue.
@@wjye thanks bro!
These things look badass. I'm getting a blue '13 next week, same engine and whatnot. Excited to give it a try.
Awesome, hope you like it!
@@wjye Just picked it up today, loving it a lot so far. Very quick, very quiet, very comfortable. She's got some miles, but it doesn't run like a high-mile car.
I’m looking to get a used Police charger by November. I appreciate this video and I’ll be reviewing it all the way up to my birthday - lame right.
Best of luck to you!
@@wjye Thanks.
That is a really great deal, i just bought a 2015 5.7 pursuit for 13 grand, 114,000 miles, im not disappointed at all.
Thank you! The Charger has been a fantastic car in my 4 years of owning it!
Beautiful! Mine came from Ohio state as well.
I have an 11, got it with 89k on the odometer paid $6700.
Its the 2nd one I've owned. They are Awesome rides.
We have to Stop telling everyone about them, everyone's gonna jump on our bandwagon and I won't be able to buy them all up like I want to!
Hahaa. Joking. 125k is Nothing for these Hemis. Maintenance is all they need. I'd like an update, have you done any mods? Removed the spotlight? Any civilian RT parts added? Wheels?
Soultrain 440 Not yet, I would love to get some chrome 20 inch rams at some point, the car does have exhaust work done to it since. Being that it’s been my primary daily driver other than maintenance I haven’t really ripped into it.
@@wjyeis the transmission good on these cars ?
@@MrJones-tu5tg Yes, these cars have the NAG1 5 speed auto, its a great transmission and very reliable. I've heard of these cars having more motor issues then Transmission issues.
@@wjye I just got a 2012 chevy impala ex-police car. do you know anything about these? I love this car. Thanks.
betty bare I really don’t know much about the Impalas. I had a 2005 for a short time but that’s a very different ball game then the newer ones like you got. Other channels on here may know more or have better videos on those
I just found one the same color as yours on craigslist for 8500. Its a 2014 with 116k
Question where did you get the plugs from? I just bought a police charger and need to plug the holes? And was wondering what you used thanks
I got them from ebay. Just make sure to measure the holes in the car. I had a few 3/8 size NMO holes and 2 big 1 1/8 holes to fill so I needed 2 different plug sizes. Had all the plugs since 2017 and have never had any issues with leaks.
Hey ? So I have the same exact car you have. Can u show me a video of how to hook up the front 4 speakers by chance lol
Minor flaws: no console, no trunk cover, and material seats.
still running ? just curious because i’m getting one lol
@@mxgnification8203 have you gotten one yet? I’m in the market for one
7500 was out the door price
Hey Ocean City is where I live.. glad you enjoyed!@
I’m paying 5500 for a 2012 v6 police edition 146 k miles hope they took care of it every oil change, I will keep u posted on if it last me

Dude i want one so bad our auction in tx has 3 08-10 chargers police version i hope they have the 5.7 im looking into getting one and parking my vic only thing i dont like is that there black and white and i know one of em has a v6
tHRILL€®🦍 best of luck! If you got Maaco nearby they could probably repaint the car for inexpensive if you did get one.
How do you feel about the generation before this model? Looking at 2007 with 115k miles very clean detective car
I don’t know much about that generation as I’ve had no experience with them. Marspeed here on RUclips has a bunch of stuff about that generation.
Just got a 2010 police with 36k miles on it for 8900. I love it runs great.
just got my '13 Charger Pursuit :D
Is there any way to put a stock center console in these? I notice they all have the rails for their equipment.
Does the spotlight work? Thanks
Tappedurassout it does indeed, I got an LED unit installed.
Just got one what a blast 👌
Is this a RWD or AWD? I know some departments have gone to AWD
Bob Smith it’s RWD. The NY state troopers run Chargers almost exclusively in AWD.
Hopefully today I'll be getting one.
Did u get one yet?
What kind of transmission does it use
I know some police chargers come with a 6 speed transmission
Justice Fox-Roper It uses the Mercedes developed Nag1 5speed auto which is actually a great transmission, very stout trans!
Amazing how cheap these cars are in the US compared to the UK, if you can find one. For example an 2006 Charger R/T Hemi will cost more than a new 2018 model in the US!!.
That's crazy
Hey, what antenna do you have on there? thanks!
That one was a spring loaded VHF antenna for my Ham radio. As of now, the car has a dual band VHF/UHF antenna on it.
I just got a 2013 5.7 police charger.. Thing is a monster.
A G Massacre Gotta love that Hemi power!
Any updates?
I have a 2013 R/T Fasten Seatbelt!
I have read that you need to check the pinch welds on these. If those check out then don’t wait! Buy it then and there
I have not heard anything about that. Even here in the rustbelt states.
Hey question I have the same car what is the random button inside the glove box for? Been trying to look it up but haven't found anything lol
I was on the fence, I thought it was a scam I am looking at 2012 pursuit 120k for 6500. I guess I will check it out.
Mr86gn That’s a decent price, worth a look at least!
I have both of these vehicles. The Charger is far better than the crown Victoria. That Hemi is on another level from the 4.7 in the Vic..
Blac 76 Very different animal for sure!
@@wjye Very different animal. I would still give up my Charger for a Maurader lol That is just such an amazing machine....
Blac 76 I would love to own a marauder some day. However stock for stock the 5.7 hemi would probably take the Marauder.
Supercharge that Hemi with headers etc and you'll get over 600 HP !! That's quick
Darrell Syrnyk And expensive
Need some advice they selling a 2012 hemi 5.7 for 3500.00 170 km But the lifters are clicking should i go for it or no?
I have an 09 wit the same problem don't do it unless u got the money to spend to rebuild the engine
These motors are notorious for having camshaft and lifters issues, if you buy it keep in mind that you may have to remove the heads and change the camshaft and lifters at some point. If you’re handy it’s a manageable job but it may take you a few days. If you’re not, I would keep looking.
I'm looking for a ppv. If you find the right one, it's the one...
PPV is Chevy.
Interceptor is Ford.
Pursuit is Dodge
I have a 2007 pursuit....it's a 3.5l but it hauls ass too... Black on black .. scares everyone when I roll thru the hood....lmao
I have just bought one and it's great it really turns heads as I live in WAKEFIELD GREAT BRITAIN !!! 5.8 HEMMI 380 BHP. Will outrun anything on the British roads.
Where did you get your console installed ?
Its just a crappy Walmart center console the previous owner installed. I actually really hate it. its really cheap and flimsy feeling.
Did you get a center console for your car
Kior Gates the one that’s in it is a crappy Walmart unit but it gets the job done.
$7500 and you walked away with the title? Would have at least got the car for that price.
I paid 7,300 for my 2013 5.7 pursuit and it’s identical to yours and I FREAKING LOVE IT
Wow. I have a 08 crown vic (white) and i just got a former sc hwy patrol 2013 charger just like this. When i seen the thumbnail i had to listen lol... i paid 7k for mine 170k miles..
What type of ham radio do you have?
Tracy Nine It’s an old Motorola Spectra VHF programmed to the local HAM frequencies.
I hear from many dodge owners about engine knock, most of the time it needs engine re-build, do you have comment about this issue?
Ron Paker Perhaps you mean the famous Hemi tick? From what I’ve read the Hemi tick is more of an annoyance then an actual mechanical issue. For the most part the Hemis are good motors.
@@wjye my boss drives a 2010 hemi police charger and it's on its 4th engine and I know a guy that sells police vehicles to departments and he advised to stay away from them lots of problems especially with the engines equipped with the multi displacement .
That noise is indeed the “Hemi tick,” it’s the loud injectors and is nothing to worry about.
Hey man! Hows the car doing now?
Shaia Farber Check out my channel, I just posted a 2 year review on this!
I love my 2014 police charger it’s a old state trooper from Florida I bought it with 119,000 miles for 5800 had it for bout 3 years now when I bought it they had just started selling the state trooper chargers it has the 5.7 in it 16 spark plugs, since I’ve owned it I’ve had to change rack and pinion radiator and fans, I repainted it back black increase da tint windows to where it looks like the windows was painted black lol I call her dark knight or the punisher frank castle lol only thing is it’s expensive to maintain parts are not cheap everything really cost double to what’s da factory chargers cost but it’ll prolly last forever depending on how u take care of it, I’ve seen chargers have 1 million miles put on them so they were made to last #HemiLife
Rock on man! Yeah basic maintenance goes a long way with these. Just sucks parts are so expensive.
What is the MPG on this car?
Felix24148 depends on how you drive it. I’ve averaged over 25 mpg on road trips. I’ve gotten about 460 miles on a full tank of fuel.
@@wjye Huh. I've got an 06 Police Impala with a V6 and it gets about the same MPG as an early 90s Toyota Camry.
Cool Man : Does it have the 8spd auto & posi rearend ?
And I'm not just talking about the upcoming Durango Pursuit.
;)
P Kranz I like the sound of this! If they put the 8 speed auto in the Pursuit, these may very well outrun the Taurus SHO cop cars.
wjye It already ties it.
@3:44 where can i get those plugs at?
I purchased all the plugs from eBay. Just measure the holes you have and order the correct size plugs. Never had any issues with leaks using them.
do u ever get pulled over in this? im about to buy a black one for 5,500 with 132k.
Jan Brown Not really, never been hassled in this car. To be honest I’ve never been bothered in any of my former cop cars.
