Mine is quiet, despite being a stripped down Police model. Even with no carpet (rubber floor lining), it is a silent, smooth ride. And, it's silent and smooth ONLY because I've had to rebuild the front end (and replace the worn out Nivomat shocks)... these things chew the hell out of ball joints, bearings, control arm bushings, sway bar links and bushings, etc. If you have one, you know that you need to re-do the front end about every 2 to 3 years... ;-)

I love the fact that the R/T has unintentionally become a sleeper. Everyone checks for the Hellcat or Scatpack badging. The 'hemi' badges on the 5.7s fly under the radar. It's a nice little spot to be in sandwiched between the rental V6s and the 392 and Hellcats, which are launched at every stoplight.
I think that engine is the sweet spot , quicker than the v6 and sounds better . The other engines are overkill to me . This one seems to have good traction .
For a lot of people though, the Pentastar V6 is PLENTY to get in trouble with - I've rented many Chargers/Challengers back when I could travel for business, and they can hold their own with 3.6 liters under the hood.

I'm talking about more than just 0-60s. Torque availability, power delivery, and powerband is just lackluster, even for base, imo.

That 5.7 is no slouch, I'm a FCA or Mopar fan but I swear the Charger and Challenger community talks crap about the 3.6 and 5.7 not everyone needs a Scat Pack or Hellcat.
Honestly I like most of mopars engines even the little 2.0/2.4 I4 and 3.6l V6 can handle power add ons, 4.0l I6 has good torque the 3.8 and 3.3 were reliable AF, and the 5.7L hemi is a best in itself, with the right tunes headers exhaust, throttle body and CAI it opens up nicely, you add a supercharger and it will disappear in seconds. I've seen people p it turbos on the 2.0/2.4 darts and 200s's and kick out 350HP anymore and you would need a different trans since that's what its rated at. The 3.6 can be supercharged and turbo'd too. I saw a twin turbo 3.6L 300s do a qtr mile in just under 12 seconds at 120mph. Shit I could turn just about any mopar car into a beat with enough money but every engine has its max. The 5.7L can handle a lot of power but it can never match the amount of power the 6.2 or 7.0 elephant can produce. Those engines are just in a league of their own.
the 5.7 is a brute of a motor and pairs even better with the 8 speed in the newer R/Ts. I do fancy the long azz gears with the 5 speed slushbox though lol. I would love to see the R/T become a member of the 400 hp club, but who knows what will be happening with these cars over the next couple years, and I can't see any any effort / money put into pushing more power out of this acceptable V8 trim.

Lucky to have the Autobahn. Here in Canada going over 150 they seize your car because it's considered racing. It's really strict. Most hyw speed limits are at 100 kh. Very rare they might have 120 to 130.
Here in Texas there is a road with an 85 mph (137 km/h) speed limit. 150 km/h is about 93 mph. If you went 94 mph on that road it's unlikely that you would even get a speeding ticket.
I love how in Germany people in the left lane know how to move the f*ck out of the way when you're coming up behind them. Wish they knew how to in the US.
I have a 2012 pursuit that still had the cage in it when I bought it. Column shifter, and I dont have the civilian interface radio in it. This is not a squad car. It also still has the spotlight. Also, police ones have certified speedometers. This one does not. It would say, "certified" in the bottom right corner of the speedometer.
It doesn't look like a police car and nobody in Germany knows its a police car. If they knew, they wouldn't move aside out of spite. It's just a rule to keep left lane clean, has nothing to do with with american police cars. Nobody cares about them.
@@derbigpr500 yeah, though I should point out it was a little of a joke on my part. Of course Germans wouldn't respond to American police cars as American cops lack jurisdiction outside of the US or more specifically their state or local jurisdiction.
I would not dare to drive at that speed on US highways where idiotic drivers would make sudden lane changes or brake check me or ride the fast lane at below speed limit just to be a total jerk. German drivers appear to be very civil.
I am sure most Americans who view this are thrilled to see how competent and courteous drivers on the Autobahn are, never passing on the right, and if (briefly) in the left lane, moving over to the right to yield to faster traffic overtaking them. I am an American who lived in Germany for six years. In Germany, if you pass on the right and are seen doing this by the Autobahn Polizei you lose your license for one month on the first offense. If you stay in the left lane and refuse to move over to the right lane when there is faster traffic behind you and you are caught, you are arrested and go to jail. We saw this happen on the "Cops" type TV documentary "Autobahn Polizei" one time. The offender was a typical grumpy old man with a hat on (auf Deutsch, ein "Hutfahrer). Off to jail he went. 😁👍 These are among the reasons that even though there is no speed limit on many rural sections of Germany's Autobahn system, there are less accidents, less deaths, and less injuries per distance traveled on the Autobahns than on American Freeways.

@@annakessler9372 It depends from country to country. Here in Belgium you can't have a Belgian one with the current striping since the striping is protected by law. You can however own one, with lights and sirens if it's the previous striping (prior to the rebranding/integration of local and federal police into the new policestructure of 1998) or if it's and out of country vehicle. You can't use the lights and sirens (obviously) unless during certain events or off public roads. Technically you can drive around with the lights on your vehicle (typical Belgian backdoor in the law) they just have to be inoperable. However, if you go to the yearly technical inspection they might require you to be operational since there also an obscure passage in our law that says that every light mounted on a vehicle has to be in working order. In the Netherlands it is (or was since they was a request to change it) forbidden to drive with the lights mounted on your vehicle, even if it was an oldtimer, they had to be covered when driving on the road. A lot of voices were raised to change that, certainly from fire department with oldtimers used for events. Not sure if it's changed, the last time we drove with our Belgian (oldtimer) firetruck in the Netherlands (and Germany, Denmark, France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg) there wasn't an issue but I did saw others with their lights covered. Germany might be different also, even though we live in a unified Europe and most laws are valid throughout Europe differences are there so if you want to own one it would be good to contact your local law enforcement and ask what applies to you and the vehicle you would like to buy.

I own a 2012 R/T AWD and it's a beast in the winter weather here in the snow belt. I do agree the governor is embarrassing. The sports sedan world got turned upside down in a matter of a decade. The R/T had great performance specs in 2011. Respectable 0-60s and 1/4 mile. Dodge can no longer compete with 375 hp and 5.2 0-60's. When the 8 speed was dropped in, it improved performance a bit but it's insane what quick and fast is in 2021 vs what it was in 2011/2012. I keep reminding myself what Corvettes with automatics were doing in the late 90's and early 2000's. I often look at car and driver reviews from the past and see 0-60 times of sport sedans barely under 6 seconds and the reviewer says how freaking fast the car is. Then I read a review of a 2014 Caddy xts vsport and a 4300 lbs chauffeur mobile going 0-60 in 5.2 seconds is slow and disappointing. Fast still feels fast to me, but relatively speaking, R/T chargers are getting lost in the shuffle.

:) LG Till

And, it's silent and smooth ONLY because I've had to rebuild the front end (and replace the worn out Nivomat shocks)... these things chew the hell out of ball joints, bearings, control arm bushings, sway bar links and bushings, etc. If you have one, you know that you need to re-do the front end about every 2 to 3 years... ;-)
probably even quieter without the lightbar on top that's gotta make "some" noise on the highway
@@randyarock owned a 2015 Ralley for five years - zero front end issues.. actually.. zero issues with anything. the car was fantastic. only reason I regretfully traded it was because my wife complained about the winter driving so I traded it in on a 2020 Durango.
Chargers are pretty quiet on the inside and that comfy leather back seat has a lot of room.

Your life sucks that you have comment the comment everyone else who else life’s sucks is commenting. “It’s not a real police interceptor =[“ you obviously read the other comments of the same why copy it loll? Did you really want to comment that bad? You could have said something original of your own thought.
@@Bando-fx4mf jeez dude who pissed in your cereals this morning?
Bro, who touched you?
@@Bando-fx4mf Hi LOSER
The speedo bounces at 130mph, governed top speed?
im shocked, nobody was coming from behind with much higher speed.
I own a 2014 awd hemi police charger got 2 of them I took it aup to 140mph omg the handling is amazing
Sure,LOL
@@freedomring4813 140 not 240 just realized it.fat fingers
@@silverking4281 No problem
how suddenly everyone politely goes down to the right lane and as soon as they see the police colors in the mirror :DDDD
By default, mostly everyone (not all) is like that here. It’s illegal to block the passing lanes or stay there for more than 45 seconds.
Dodge is just number #1, plain and simple...
What a bloody limiter🤪
Hey schöne Grüße aus dem Allgäu! :)
Toller Hemi Charger Police Interceptor!
LG Till
Scare the shit out of the SUV driver when you press pedal after him.
Only around 130 mph? Is this thing severely restricted?
Never seen a V8 Charger with a speed governor before
Speed governor hahahahaha omg that's the most american thing I've ever heard.
No offense tho im just kidding hahaha
@@josephelliasmine125 ok?
1st time viewing.... very cool!!!! .......sooo.... how the hell do you have Access,to so many DIFFERENT types of vehicles????
Dislike for standing on the acceleration lane
Don't you have to remove the police decals and red/blue lights first before driving it in Germany or even in the States?
It should be illegal
That sounds 😍😍
Interceptor for him but Is fine is fun is showing respect ...America love you......
imagine being an innocent german family driving home from the park and then BAM 5.7L of freedom appears behind you
This ia just like driving on the interstate in the US. I can never reach top speed either due to all the idiots taking holiday in the left lane.
Muito top esse Dodge. Ronco mostruoso!! Valeu👍🏻
YES! You took the same words right out of my mouth!
Surprised to find so many Oklahoma drivers in the left lane in Germany! Also surprised to see it would only do 130. Here in Oklahoma the Highway patrol cars are computer limited to 161 MPH.
This is a older model civilian rt limited at 130-131 mph
This car was smooth as butter on those beautiful roads!
0:44 damn forget 0-60 look how fast it goes 0-180
You're bold driving that thing around! lol but the laws must be different over there
Spodziewałem się czegoś więcej od 5.7 HEMI.
It's not the engine, it's the gearing
I served in the USAF in Germany, German HATE being passed by an AMERICAN CAR... EGO problems.. It was fun toying with them on the autobahn. Also, in village speed limit is 50 clicks, about 32 mph, once you leave town/village there is typically no speed limit.
This would be illegal in USA for impersonating the police lol
No it's not the sell patrol cars all over the usa to general public it's only illegal to use the sirens
So it dies at 210km/h due to limiter. It won't intercept much on the autobahn!
That's because in the USA, we have these cool things called radios and police SUVs to form a roadblock, so why risk chasing them at that speed on the rough, crumbling roads of the USA when you can let them take that risk themselves and just bust the guy at the next exit?
@@specialopsdave yes, as if i have never seen a police car in hot pursuit!
@@specialopsdave Hm cool to know. Smart.
That speedlimiter works extrem 😨
lol 6 l with 300 HP and speed limiter.
Well 375 is a lot closer to 400 than 300
