As sad as this scene is, if anything I've read on the web is accurate, the Cyberman was originally going to be A CHILD. This would have been even more heartwrenching than the scene already is.
i'm sorry, but WHAT.
I heard that too, imagine how chilling it would be. But it’s too dark for doctor who 😂
Really? I didn't know about that.
Wasn't it going to be an 11 year old?
Well, they've sort of done it with the Toclafane. The one that Martha opens speaks like the child of Utopia
The expert way they turned the small victory of taking down a Cyberman to realizing that the enemy wasn't a mindless beast and the slow acceptance that they would have to do this again to hundreds of Cybermen was top-notch writing. Simply Brilliant.
I really like this scene - it brings a very rare human-side to the cybermen. Something I think the cybermen really need to emphasise how scary they actually are - otherwise they're just crap Daleks.
It makes the Cybermen more scary than Star Trek's Borg in my opinion. The Borg assimilate the body but not quite to the scale the Cybermen do. The Cybermen strip away everything, making their victims virtually cookie cutter copies of each other with zero sense of individuality. The Borg still have distinguishing features.
@@Boskov01 Cybermen were a symbolism of communism, where everyone’s beliefs, individuality, and more were supposedly to conform to one people under the state. I find the original series’ version more scary, because of being more enhanced humans, upgraded in their own eyes, monsters in the eyes of humans.
@@davidthedeaf I can definitely see that. Much like the Star Trek Borg.
Man Nick Briggs is such a great voice actor. Able to sound robotic yet so human
Well that's the technology that changes his voice...
Originally the cyberman was going to be an 11year old boy
Yo
That’s dark
That would’ve been more heartbreaking 😢
“Where’s mummy? Mummy said we were going to have cake”
(Just an idea of mine)
TheRedstoneBuilder oh god I’m getting ptsd flashbacks from the gas mask children saying Mummy
Helen Griffin (Mrs. Moore) died just a few years back. Wonderful actor.
What? D:
Russell T Davies era writing. Just absolutely mesmerising.
Stuff like this is why it’s a real life genuine miracle he’s back.
1:51 *me trying to convince my mother to turn on the indoor heating*
This scene alone adds a whole new layer to the concept of the Cybermen. They’ve always had no emotions but this is the first time I think that we’ve seen them as actually human which they are. Correct if I’m wrong though I haven’t seen all the classic cyberman stories

“Your free Windows 10 upgrade is ready.”
XD
Now 11 lol🤣
Dude EMP bombed their computer in rage lmao
This moment is both terrifying and sad
Yeah they never asked to be Cybermen.
When I was younger I was more than scared of the conversion machine and I used to ran out of the room screaming and looked up at every ceiling that I am in checking that there isn’t nothing like that near me. I said this before and I will say it again nature always finds a loophole to new things (eg cybermen and gold) and history always finds a repetition
The conversion rooms scared me too
i like this scene its very different to alot of the others
I always think it is similar to the scene in last of the timelords where they open the toclophane
@@mattegrey2609 Personally I think this is much better.
2:39 the cyberman forgot to wear his stompy shoes
😂😂😂
They can be sneaky when it suits them. After all they were able to infiltrate the original Torchwood institute without anyone noticing.
I feel like they just stuffed noodles into the cyber suit prop.
cry everytime 14 years later
These cybermen are wayyy better than the newer ones. The new ones look cheaper, not as threatening, they just seem to be people inside suits like iron man instead of just their organs which was much more interesting as it was an irreversible process. The new ones also have these weird abilities like iron man like they just fly and do all sorts now. The slow walk is much more intimidating. Imagine Jason Vorhees or Michael Myers just yeeting up into the air with rocket boots to chase after you. It takes away suspense.
Yeah the new ones are basically sleek Iron Man
Cybusmen the last good cybermen
Compared to the classic Cybermen, these versions are kind of depressing in nature.
That what makes them great
Apparently, the writers loosely based the New Series Cybermen on the Sixties Cybermen. The Cybermen from the Seventies and Eighties just talked like normal people.
@@stephenmurphy2212 normal Darth Vaders.
I don't think I could have stood it if they'd gone with the original idea of having the human brain inside the Cyberman be a child instead of an adult.
I like these versions of the Cybermen they look awesome.
There meant to show how much people rely on technology and how quick it evolves
"Flesh"
Dr. Moore 2007
Can we talk about how a cyberman snuck up on them?
Right?? 😂
An aspiring bride. Wow, RTD knew how to tug at heartstrings. So did Moffat, but this? RTD did great with the Cybermen!
And to think, they where originally going to have that Cyberman be an 11 year old boy before changing it into an aspiring bride.
2:38 I know this is a serious scene, and it would be poor taste to make a joke but... ninja cyberman!
To quote a later episode, he had his legs on silent 😂
Wow the HD looks brilliant
He put the female cyber man out of her misery, then gets the idea, let’s make them all suffer
The Doctor, despite being in his most human incarnation, still manages to be fairly calm when he sees a death. Probably because he's survived many battles and wars and knows that he can't spent to much time worrying, since he just come up with a solution to defeat so or so.
Cyberman at 2:38 obviously had his legs on silent
This scene was needed to emphasise these more robotic cybermen really were us, brilliant stuff, love this pair, shame it didn’t last :(
Tell em mrs m
We’ve got a government mole that feeds us information, Lumic’s private files, his South American operations
Doctor Who has always been Grimdark. This is what I loved about Russell T. Davies’ first run. He kept the Grimdark nature of Doctor Who. And he just went nuts with Torchwood.
I was just rewatching this episode this morning. Weird
Pls, tell me I'm not the only one who cried at this scene
Miss these cyber men
Who has some of the action figures from series 2 or from this episode?
I was holding a cyberman action figure
Normally I take a wild guess upon knowing the enemies weaknesses, But isn't the Cybermen suppose to have none of any emotions?
The emotional inhibitor got zapped when she threw that thing so the Cyberman started to feel
Did you watch the video or not?
Yeah well? Upgrade this!
She reminds me of my mom trying to be cool lol it's cute
okay but the doctor *did* commit murder in this scene.
Adoro essa série The Doctor
Cybermen dislike this video for having such good emotional acting
2:34 I am at the house with the doctors hasn't hits. Yes that's the only way they can ensure a victory over the Cybermen, but at the same time it kills those unfortunate victims turned into these machines. It's a very hard choice to make.
2:41.
The only thing that's bad about this is that the dr got snuck up on bye a cyber man they make tons of noise
2:40 .
Did anyone buy this episode on iTunes? Because the episodes like this during the Eccleston/Tennant era have this fuzzing glitch on iTunes. Pls comment if you experienced this.
Old Doctors rule, new doktor drools
It’s actually written like, Doctor. not Doktor
Sad
love a bit of david tennant this helps with my illness!!! :) (not coronavirus obviously)
Why is that obvious?
@@FahadAyaz because i'd be to sick to be watching yt i'd be in bed suffering a lot more than i am now
I’m the next doctor, the one, the only and the best
Doctors are not required
Gareth :'(
How many children on Gallifrey?

I love the Cybermen.

The white material shown in the cyberman body is being found growing in the bodies of transhumans with the properties of elastic/rubber bands.
2:39 .
okay but the doctor *did* commit murder in this scene.
I think the Cyberman was already dying and the Doctor simply sped up the process
